In the Surveillance Room, Li De watched the footage of Chen Haoxuan's actions in the Detention Room and sighed, "A seemingly clean and gentle person can be so ruthless. If I hadn't seen it with my own eyes, I wouldn't have believed it even if you beat me to death."
A police officer in the Surveillance Room asked Li De, "Chief, he assaulted someone in the police station's Detention Room. Will the higher-ups be angry about this?"
"Angry my ass. Just delete this footage later and don't let anyone know. Who will find out?" Li De replied seriously. Bad people know how to destroy evidence, and so can the police; this is called fighting black with black.
Inside the Detention Room, after beating up the five young men, Chen Haoxuan shouted at them again, "If you don't speak up, I won't need you to say anything anymore. Just prepare to spend your lives in prison! I'll make sure someone treats you well from time to time."
First came the threats, then a beating, and now intimidation. The five young men could no longer endure this mental and physical torment. They hurriedly said to Chen Haoxuan, "Big brother, we'll tell you! Please don't treat us like this; our families can't live without us..."
Chen Haoxuan added salt to their wounds again by slapping one of the young men who was closer to him on the right cheek with a crisp sound. "Then hurry up and speak! "You promise us that as long as we tell you everything, you'll let us go immediately," one young man said to Chen Haoxuan, surprisingly clever enough to worry about Chen Haoxuan going back on his word.
"Fine, I promise you that as long as what you say is true, I will guarantee your release," Chen Haoxuan replied.
"Our boss lives in the Tile House where you used to stay. Not many people know he's there. I found out because I once went drinking with Winter Melon; he got drunk and accidentally told me. We can't contact the boss directly; only Winter Melon and his crew can. Winter Melon told me their contact method is something used by spies during the war—only those in charge can understand it. For us small fries, it's like reading a book in the sky.
As for our boss's purpose, it's quite simple. He just wants to negotiate with the police through action. He believes that as long as he is powerful enough, the police won't be able to do anything about him, and they will give up trying to arrest him. If the police stop trying to catch him, he will cease all retaliatory actions." The plumper young man explained to Chen Haoxuan.
"Alright, I'll go catch Black Heart now. Once I get him, I'll let you go. But remember, if you lie to me, I won't hesitate to kill you," Chen Haoxuan said coldly.
"I promise! I absolutely won't lie!" The plumper young man swore with his hand raised.
In the Surveillance Room, Li De clapped his hands, producing a crisp sound. He excitedly said, "Great! As long as we catch Blackheart, I won't have to worry about being dismissed, and I might even get promoted!"
"Then let me congratulate you in advance on your promotion, Director. When you get promoted, don't forget about us subordinates!" said the Male Police Officer next to Li De, flattering him.
"Stop flattering me and quickly gather the team. Bring your gear and let's head out immediately. This time, I must catch Blackheart," Li De instructed.
After sending his subordinate to assemble the team, Li De quickly walked towards the Detention Room. Seeing Chen Haoxuan approaching, Li De excitedly opened his arms, wanting to give Chen Haoxuan a warm hug. However, Chen Haoxuan was not cooperative at all and said, "I'm not into that; don't come at me with this."
"What do you mean? I'm just really happy and wanted to hug you to express my gratitude, and you suspect I'm making a pass at you? That's just you, Chen Haoxuan. If it were someone else, I'd have cuffed him," Li De said while giving Chen Haoxuan a hearty pat on the shoulder.
"You must have heard my conversation with those thieves. Why haven't you sent anyone to catch Blackheart yet?" Chen Haoxuan asked seriously.
Li De patted Chen Haoxuan's shoulder and smiled, "Don't worry; I've already sent people to gather the team. I told them to bring their gear too. If Blackheart has a gun this time, I'll break his arms and legs."
"I'm going with you. If they have handguns, can you give me one? I'm a Sharpshooter!" Chen Haoxuan said earnestly.
"I know your shooting skills are impressive, but I'm curious—this is a harmonious society where ordinary people can't even touch guns. How did you develop such great marksmanship?" Li De asked curiously.
"That's a secret," Chen Haoxuan replied with a mysterious smile. Even if he told Li De, Li De wouldn't believe him because his shooting skills were honed during his military service in the Future Century.
"Alright! If you're not going to tell me, then forget it," Li De said understandingly. He was certain that Chen Haoxuan had some incredible secret; otherwise, how could he be so skilled? His marksmanship could be called Sharpshooter level, his intelligence was frighteningly sharp, and his agility was like that of a martial arts master. Li De did not give Chen Haoxuan any firearms, but he provided him with a sharp dagger for self-defense.
On the way to the small village where Chen Haoxuan used to live, Chen Haoxuan saw Li De's police car continuously blaring its siren. Chen Haoxuan felt furious! Chen Haoxuan took out his phone and dialed Li De's number. When the call connected, Chen Haoxuan shouted, "Li De, you idiot! Tell your men to turn off the sirens. If the target gets scared off because of you, I will hold you accountable."
"That won't happen! We've always done it this way. By the time the target hears the sirens, we'll already be at his location. He won't be able to escape," Li De replied confidently.
Chen Haoxuan couldn't help but curse. He said, "Damn it! You're foolish, but others aren't. He has so many subordinates; if one of them sees our large force, they will definitely call to inform him."
