After satisfying his hunger, Chen Haoxuan wandered into the Supermarket. Wearing sunglasses that covered half of his face, none of the staff recognized him. The supermarket was well-managed by Nakai, and the employees were polite to customers, which pleased Chen Haoxuan greatly.
After browsing around the supermarket, he took off his sunglasses and asked one of the staff members, “Where is your manager?”
“Old... Boss?” The employee looked very surprised. Seeing Chen Haoxuan dressed elegantly and wearing sunglasses that obscured half of his face, she thought he was a big star but didn’t expect him to be their incredibly handsome Boss.
“Where is your manager?” Chen Haoxuan asked again with a smile.
“Oh, he should be in the office,” the employee replied excitedly. The waitresses often talked about Chen Haoxuan during their downtime; according to them, men’s conversations often revolve around women, so why shouldn’t women talk about men?
“Thank you! You can get back to work; I’ll find my way there,” Chen Haoxuan said with a smile.
He walked over to the office where he used to sit in the supermarket and knocked on the door. Knock knock knock—Liu Junfeng’s voice came from inside: “Come in.”
Chen Haoxuan pushed the door open and said, “Liu Junfeng, looking good! You’ve already got the aura of a manager.”
“Haoxuan!” Liu Junfeng exclaimed in surprise as he stood up upon seeing Chen Haoxuan.
“Have a seat; don’t be so formal with me,” Chen Haoxuan waved his hand at Liu Junfeng.
After Liu Junfeng sat down, he said to Chen Haoxuan, "Haoxuan, I heard you've been very busy lately. How did you find the time to come to the Supermarket?"
"This supermarket is the largest in New City; how could I not pay attention? However, when I just arrived, I specifically checked it out and found that you managed it well. You deserve my praise," Chen Haoxuan replied with satisfaction.
Hearing Chen Haoxuan's compliment, Liu Junfeng excitedly said, "So Haoxuan, does this mean I can finally be a real manager?"
Chen Haoxuan nodded and responded, "Yes."
Liu Junfeng clapped his hands on the desk and exclaimed, "I’m finally a manager! When I see Yang Lin next time, he will be so envious!"
"Don't get too ahead of yourself. Whether you're an employee or a manager, you're still under my control. If you want to break free from my grasp, take this opportunity to learn how to do business well. Once you've mastered it, even if I fire you, you'll be able to stand on your own," Chen Haoxuan suggested to Liu Junfeng.
"Haoxuan, thank you! I will work hard," Liu Junfeng said gratefully to Chen Haoxuan. He felt fortunate to know Chen Haoxuan; without him, he would still be a student! Even after graduating, he would probably just be working in an office earning three or four thousand a month. "Yang Lin must have been talking bad about me in front of you," Chen Haoxuan said with a smile. He knew Yang Lin was unhappy with his arrangements since he had sent Liu Junfeng out to work but not him.
"Yes, he often complains over the phone that you don't arrange for him to work," Liu Junfeng replied honestly.
"Haha... I knew he would say that. My current strength isn't enough; I don't dare venture into the entertainment industry yet. When the time comes, he'll realize how tough the job he's always wanted really is," Chen Haoxuan said lightly.
"Haoxuan, I heard Yang Lin say that Zhou Kexin and her friends talk about you every day. You should go see them more often when you have time!" Liu Junfeng suggested with concern. Zhou Kexin and her friends might become his bosses in the future; now was the time to build good relationships.
"Okay, I understand," Chen Haoxuan replied.
Chen Haoxuan then asked, "Are you getting used to working here? Is there anything difficult?"
"No, everything is going smoothly," Liu Junfeng answered.
Chen Haoxuan stood up and said to Liu Junfeng, "If you don't have anything else, I'll take my leave now."
Liu Junfeng stood up and escorted Chen Haoxuan to the door. After seeing Chen Haoxuan drive away, he returned, which was a sign of respect from a subordinate to his superior.
Chen Haoxuan drove towards New City. After more than half an hour, he arrived at New City University. After parking his car, he walked through the campus and felt strangely unfamiliar with it, perhaps because he had been away for too long.
As usual, wherever he went, he turned heads with a 200% return rate. He went to his classroom and found it empty, so he took out his phone and called Zhou Kexin. Once the call connected, Chen Haoxuan learned that Zhou Kexin and the others had no classes that afternoon and were currently hanging out at his place in New City.
So, Chen Haoxuan drove to his residence, which was very close to New City University—less than a minute's drive. Upon arriving, he found Zhou Kexin and the others waiting for him at the door; it seemed they had missed him very much.
As Chen Haoxuan got out of the car, Zhou Kexin rushed over to him and happily said, "Haoxuan, why haven't you come to see us for so long?"
"I've been busy lately!" Chen Haoxuan replied with a smile.
Behind Zhou Kexin, Chen Yina looked jealous and sweetly said to Chen Haoxuan, "Brother Xuan, today is Friday. We have a break tomorrow and the day after. I want to go home; can you give me a ride today?"
"Of course," Chen Haoxuan replied happily.
"We're going too," Zhou Kexin added, often accompanied by the innocent Hua Lingwei.
