Chen Haoxuan spoke passionately before turning and leaving Lin Hao and the others' dormitory.
Chen Haoxuan returned and fell asleep immediately; he felt exhausted. Lin Hao and the others were even more tired. They were all tied up by Chen Haoxuan with ropes. Although they could untie themselves, Chen Haoxuan had insisted they sleep like this for a night as punishment. They all felt wronged because after such intense training over the past few days, why couldn't they just get some proper sleep?
At 5 AM the next morning, Chen Haoxuan swaggered into Lin Hao's dormitory wearing a camouflage outfit. He saw Lin Hao and the others still in the same position as yesterday, sleeping back-to-back on the floor. Chen Haoxuan shouted loudly, "Get up!"
Lin Hao and the others were startled awake by Chen Haoxuan's shout. Many of them had forgotten that they were tied up from the previous day. A few quickly stood up, pulling at the ropes which caused them to yelp in pain.
"Untie yourselves, hurry!" Chen Haoxuan yelled at Lin Hao and the others.
They helped each other untie their ropes while Li Wenshan was currently helping Yang Lin. However, Yang Lin seemed ungrateful; his expression was filled with drowsiness, and his eyes lacked their usual sparkle. He felt extremely tired and wanted nothing more than to sleep. He thought that being pushed by Chen Haoxuan felt like hell, and he wondered if he would collapse if this continued.
After Li Wenshan untied Yang Lin's ropes, he said, "Hey, Yang Lin, why aren't you helping me untie my ropes?"
Snoring sounds filled the air as Li Wenshan rolled over to Yang Lin's side and saw him with his head down and eyes closed, snoring continuously. Seeing Yang Lin's behavior made Li Wenshan so angry that he wanted to kick him. It was infuriating; after working hard to help him untie his ropes, Yang Lin was now sleeping—what a waste of effort!
"Yang Lin! Get up! Damn it, wake up! The Boss is here; why are you still sleeping?" Li Wenshan shouted at Yang Lin.
But Yang Lin was too deep in sleep. If it hadn't been for Li Wenshan suddenly standing up and pulling on the ropes painfully, he wouldn't have woken up at all—even if Chen Haoxuan had roared like a lion.
Chen Haoxuan walked over to Yang Lin and raised his hand to strike down with a whip-like motion, slapping Yang Lin's foot.
"Ouch! My foot!" Yang Lin woke up instantly.
"Your buddy helped you untie your ropes while you were here sleeping? Do you have any shame? Hurry up and help your buddy!" Chen Haoxuan yelled at Lin Hao. He could see from Yang Lin's expression that he was very fatigued, but often people's potential is brought out under pressure. Yang Lin had just started; if he could hold on a little longer, he wouldn't feel this tired anymore.
Chen Haoxuan saw that they had all untied their ropes, so he let them all go out to line up. After counting a decent number of people, Chen Haoxuan instructed them to play water basketball in the river.
Lin Hao and the others were initially very tired, but when they jumped into the river, the cold water washed away their fatigue.
Chen Haoxuan climbed back up a tree by the riverbank. He watched Lin Hao and the others play water basketball and noticed that their bodies had become much more agile than before. He was sure that Lin Hao and the others had doubled their combat effectiveness. They were now doing a lot of exercise every day, and this continuous activity would make their bodies very nimble during this period.
"Help!" Suddenly, Chen Haoxuan heard someone shout for help. He quickly searched for his people and realized that Yang Lin was missing. He immediately shouted loudly to his subordinates, "Do you know where Yang Lin went?"
"Hey, I just saw him behind me," Jiang Dong said curiously.
"Everyone, hurry up and search! Yang Lin might have drowned," Chen Haoxuan said anxiously.
As he spoke, he quickly took off his clothes, pants, and boots in just two or three seconds. Chen Haoxuan leaped from the top of the tree with a thud and plunged directly into the river.
Lin Hao and the others were all searching for Yang Lin. Swimming in the river was dangerous; if someone drowned, it was easy to be swept away by the current.
Having just heard Jiang Dong say that Yang Lin was behind him, Chen Haoxuan confirmed Jiang Dong's location and calculated the speed of the river's flow to estimate where Yang Lin might be.
At a point ten meters downstream from where Jiang Dong was located, Chen Haoxuan found Yang Lin. He quickly wrapped one arm around Yang Lin's neck and swam towards the riverbank.
"I found him!" Chen Haoxuan shouted loudly.
Lin Hao and the others swam ashore one after another. They weren't trying to be lazy; they wanted to see how Yang Lin was doing. Although they weren't very familiar with him, they had shared moments together—sleeping, drinking, and training as good buddies—so it was only natural to show concern.
Chen Haoxuan placed his fingers on Yang Lin's nostrils and felt that he was still breathing. He finally breathed a sigh of relief. "He's fine; he's still breathing!" Chen Haoxuan informed the others about Yang Lin's condition to ease their worries.
Chen Haoxuan pinched Yang Lin's philtrum, and soon Yang Lin woke up. As soon as he regained consciousness, he cursed, "Damn, the river water tastes terrible."
"Uh..." Chen Haoxuan and the others were speechless; they had almost drowned, and he was commenting on the taste of the river water.
"Are you okay?" Chen Haoxuan asked with concern.
"I'm fine, but it was really uncomfortable when I couldn't breathe at the bottom of the river. The feeling of dying and coming back to life is really strange," Yang Lin sighed.
"Your body is too weak! You can't even handle this little hardship. How are you going to continue training in the future?" Chen Haoxuan patted Yang Lin.
"Don't worry, I, Yang Lin, will definitely be able to persevere. If those bastards Jiang Dong and the others can endure, why can't I?" Yang Lin said confidently.
"Alright, since you just nearly drowned, I'll give you a morning off. Go back and rest well! We'll train together again in the afternoon," Chen Haoxuan told Yang Lin.
"Great! To be honest, I'm really tired right now and want to sleep," Yang Lin said happily.
Yang Lin had just drowned because his limbs had cramped, making it impossible for him to walk back. So, Chen Haoxuan had Li Wenshan carry Yang Lin back.
