Currently, only a few wealthy individuals from Europe were advertising their products on Chen Haoxuan's Thousand Buddha Stone Pagoda.
Chen Haoxuan and his group arrived at Shuanghu County Airport. Since it was nighttime, there were very few passengers flying, so they quickly bought their tickets. Before boarding the plane, Chen Haoxuan made a call to Jiang Dong, asking him to drive to New City Airport to pick him up.
When Chen Haoxuan returned to Xinshi Airport by plane, it was already 3 AM. Meilin Huang couldn't resist her drowsiness and fell asleep in Chen Haoxuan's arms, so he carried her out of the airport.
At the airport entrance, Jiang Dong was dozing off when he sensed a crowd exiting. Knowing that Chen Haoxuan was on that flight, he opened his eyes and began searching for him among the crowd.
"Stop looking! I'm right here!" Chen Haoxuan said as he stood next to Jiang Dong. Since carrying Meilin Huang made it difficult to navigate through the crowded area, he chose a longer route to avoid bumping into people, which is why Jiang Dong hadn't noticed him.
Hearing a sudden voice beside him, Jiang Dong quickly turned around and saw Chen Haoxuan. He curiously asked, "Boss, when did you come out? I’ve been watching the entrance and didn’t see you guys!"
"There’s more than one exit at the airport; I came out from the left side. Why are you just standing there? Didn’t you see me carrying Meilin? She may not be heavy, but holding her for a while can get tiring," Chen Haoxuan replied.
Upon hearing Chen Haoxuan's words, Jiang Dong hurriedly opened the car door. Chen Haoxuan gently placed Meilin Huang in the back seat while Huang Xueyan also got in to take care of her. Meanwhile, Chen Haoxuan sat in the front passenger seat and told Jiang Dong where to go: "Meilin's home."
"Mr. Chen, thank you so much for taking care of us along the way," Huang Xueyan sincerely expressed her gratitude.
"It's nothing; it's what I should do. By the way, don’t call me Mr. Chen anymore; that title feels strange. You can just call me Xuan or Haoxuan like everyone else," Chen Haoxuan smiled as he spoke.
After sending Meilin Huang and the others home, Chen Haoxuan went to his place with Jiang Dong. He was very tired and wanted to sleep immediately, planning to return to Chen Family Village after waking up the next day.
Unbeknownst to the sleeping Chen Haoxuan, his romantic encounter was about to arrive. Leah, who had not yet returned to the United States, was diligently learning the Chinese language every day. To resemble Chinese people more closely, she dyed her golden hair black and straightened it, making her look like a Chinese person.
Leah had seen Chen Haoxuan's performance the day before. After watching him, she couldn't sleep that night, constantly fantasizing that the girl he lifted with one hand was her. She imagined dancing gracefully with him and having him sing a love song for her. Initially, she planned to wait until she understood Chinese culture better before seeking him out, but after watching his show, she couldn't resist her eager heart and decided to find him the next day.
Chen Haoxuan sometimes stayed in Chen Family Village and sometimes in New City. To avoid a wasted trip, clever Leah hired two taxi drivers to help her find out where he was at that moment—one would check in Chen Family Village while the other would go to his rented place in New City.
An hour later, both drivers reported back to Leah. She learned from the driver that Chen Haoxuan was at his rented house in New City. The driver had heard this from a breakfast vendor who mentioned seeing Chen Haoxuan return home around 4 AM while making buns.
Leah instructed the taxi driver to pick her up and take her to Chen Haoxuan's place. By 8 AM, Leah appeared outside his rented house. Today, she looked significantly different from usual; her long black hair was complemented by a fitted black suit and high heels. She exuded an air of elegance combined with the demeanor of a senior white-collar worker. Her European features added a unique beauty to her appearance.
Standing in front of Chen Haoxuan's door, Leah excitedly took out her phone and dialed his number. Hearing the phone ring while still asleep, Chen Haoxuan did not open his eyes but reached for his phone on the bedside table, skillfully pressing the answer button and putting it to his ear with a voice full of sleepiness he asked, "Who is it?"
"I'm right outside your door; you'll know when you come out," Leah replied in Mandarin.
"Uh, I don't think I know you based on your accent. Who are you and what do you want?" Chen Haoxuan opened his eyes and asked seriously.
"It's me, Leah! I'm here to see you! I'm right outside your door; can you let me in for a bit?" Leah said politely.
"Oh my gosh! Why is it you again? Be honest—what's your purpose for coming this time?" Chen Haoxuan asked with a distressed expression.
"I haven't seen you for a while because I've been learning your language and culture here in China. I've basically learned it now, so I wanted to surprise you," Leah replied happily.
"Alright, I've been surprised enough. You can go back now," Chen Haoxuan said seriously. To be honest, he was a bit afraid of Leah; her boldness was intimidating. The more complicated their relationship became, the more likely she would resort to any means necessary to achieve her goals.
