"Jiang Dong, I leave this matter to you to investigate. Notify me immediately if you find any clues, understood?" Chen Haoxuan said sternly to Jiang Dong.
"Understood, Boss. But can I call a few brothers to help?" Jiang Dong replied.
"Sure," Chen Haoxuan responded.
Lin Hao and the others returned to Chen Family Village, while Jiang Dong took a few people to investigate He Haoming. As for Chen Haoxuan, he was too distracted by the reason for Leah's death to check on his companies. Although he didn't like Leah, she had died because of him; if she hadn't insisted on saying goodbye, she might not have been hit by a car.
When Chen Haoxuan returned to People's Hospital, he saw He Haoming's family. He was sobbing uncontrollably, looking so sad, yet strangely, not a single tear fell from his eyes.
Around noon, Leah's family arrived. Upon seeing Chen Haoxuan, they rushed at him, shouting that he was responsible for Leah's death. The bodyguards assigned to protect Chen Haoxuan were top-notch fighters; two of them blocked anyone trying to approach him.
Chen Haoxuan addressed Leah's family loudly in English: "Please go see Leah first. After you finish, meet me at the café across the street; I'll be waiting for you there."
He then took his bodyguards to the café across from People's Hospital and reserved the entire place. Before long, Leah's family stormed into the café.
Chen Haoxuan had already instructed the waitstaff to combine several tables together, filling both sides with chairs, creating a simple meeting room.
Seeing Leah's family arrive, he stood up and gestured for them to sit down. "Please take a seat," he said to Leah's family.
They all sat down, and a middle-aged man who looked quite wealthy spoke up: "Mr. Chen, I heard that my daughter died because of you. I hope you can give me a reasonable explanation. Otherwise, even if I have to spend all my fortune, I will fight you to the end. Although I know I can't do much to you, I can ruin your reputation and let the world know your ugly face."
"You must be Mr. Jack, the president of American Soaring Group. I think you need to calm down; it's better if you listen to me before getting angry. Here's what happened: Your daughter hired a private detective as her driver. Early in the morning, she secretly followed my car and I noticed her. I used your Flying Group as leverage to warn her not to pursue me anymore, and then I drove away with my bodyguards."
Not long after, your daughter chased after me. I had my bodyguard pull the car over because I wanted to see what your daughter was up to. She got out of the car and ran towards me. Just a few steps into her run, a racing car sped by. The driver saw your daughter and accelerated even more, hitting her and then fleeing without stopping.
I initially intended to save your daughter, but the racing car was going too fast. Unfortunately, I couldn't save her. That's what happened in the accident; if you don't believe me, you can ask the private detective your daughter hired and my bodyguard. Later, I had my bodyguard pursue that racing car, and the private detective also joined in the chase. The racing car was incredibly fast; even the police couldn't catch it. In the end, I dispatched thirty-six skilled individuals to finally catch up with that car. Unfortunately, the driver attempted to run over my two bodyguards. To protect themselves and prevent the culprit from escaping, they chose to abandon their vehicle. Their motorcycle collided with the racing car, resulting in a loud crash, and the driver died as a result. The fire from the accident was so intense that the driver's appearance could not be identified.
I personally suspect this was not an ordinary accident but rather a murder case. Think about it! Normally, when someone hits a person while driving, they would stop to check on them. However, that racing car accelerated upon seeing someone in the road, hit your daughter without stopping for a moment, and didn't even flinch when being pursued by the police. If I hadn't sent so many skilled individuals after it, that racing car would have definitely escaped." Chen Haoxuan recounted the events.
Leah's father, Jack, spoke up to Chen Haoxuan: "You say it's a murder case; do you know who wanted to kill my daughter?"
"I don't know yet, but I've already sent people to investigate. I believe we'll find out soon," Chen Haoxuan replied.
A wealthy woman pointed at Chen Haoxuan and angrily said, "I think you're the mastermind behind this. You dislike my daughter for bothering you all the time, so you had someone kill her, right?"
"Madam, please don't make baseless accusations. How could I possibly harm your daughter? Think about it! Your daughter is so beautiful and comes from a wealthy family; if she pursued me, I would certainly be pleased. However, since she is such a wonderful girl and I already have a girlfriend, being with your daughter would only hurt her. To prevent her from feeling sad repeatedly, I rejected her confessions and intentionally made her dislike me; all of this was for her own good. Do you think I would kill her?
Do I seem like a bad person? If I were truly bad, I wouldn't have rejected her at all; after all, there aren't many beauties like her around. I would have taken her to a hotel and played with her feelings. But I did none of that; so how could you say I would harm her?" Chen Haoxuan explained.
Leah's boss Jack began to believe Chen Haoxuan's words; he realized that having a beautiful girl like Leah like him was indeed an honor and that he would never want to kill her. Jack then asked Chen Haoxuan: "So who do you think killed my daughter?"
"If I tell you... please don't spread it around; I suspect it was He Haoming because your daughter didn't have many friends in China—her only friend could be said to be He Haoming. He Haoming is your future son-in-law, but your daughter has fallen for me. Think about it! If you were He Haoming, wouldn't you be angry? Moreover, your daughter spent the most time with him; that's why I suspect He Haoming. To avoid alerting him or his family, I've kept them from coming in and have already sent people to investigate them. I've sent skilled individuals for this task; I'm confident we will uncover the truth soon." Chen Haoxuan stated.
"Mr. Chen, as long as you can help me find out who masterminded my daughter's murder, my life is yours," Jack said earnestly.
"Mr. Jack, your daughter's death is because of me; I feel guilty about it. Therefore, I don't need any benefits from you—I just need some time to find out who the real culprit is and avenge your daughter," Chen Haoxuan replied.
