Ten minutes passed, and Meilin Huang had not seen Qiuqiu surface. She began to feel sadness, constantly blaming herself for not taking better care of Chen Xiaonuo and Qiuqiu! If she had just stopped Chen Xiaonuo from letting Qiuqiu go into the river to catch fish, Qiuqiu wouldn't have gotten into trouble.
Meilin Huang kept her eyes fixed on the spot where Qiuqiu had jumped in, while Chen Xiaonuo was focused on the shore. Every time, Qiuqiu would catch fish and then wait for her to grab them.

Meilin Huang looked over and was surprised to find that Qiuqiu was already on the bank. Her tense heart finally relaxed. She hugged Chen Xiaonuo and ran toward the shore. When she reached the bank and saw Qiuqiu's adorable appearance, she couldn't help but laugh. She saw Qiuqiu holding the fish by its mouth with both paws. Due to his small and light body, every time the fish thrashed, it would send him squeaking in surprise. It was so cute that he would definitely be considered a treasured pet.
Qiuqiu was strong, but that didn't mean he was heavy.
"Aunt Meilin, hurry and put Xiao Nuo down; otherwise, the fish will escape," Chen Xiaonuo urged Meilin Huang, who was still holding her.
Meilin Huang set Chen Xiaonuo down, and she quickly ran to Qiuqiu's side. She pulled out a small rope from her pocket and tossed it on the ground. Then, with both little hands, she pressed down on the fish's head and tail. Once secured, Chen Xiaonuo anxiously told Qiuqiu, "Qiuqiu, quickly put the rope through the fish's mouth."
This method was taught to Chen Xiaonuo by Li Ping. In the past, there were several times when Chen Xiaonuo tried to bring fish home for her family, but each time they would jump out of her arms while crossing a bridge and roll back into the river. She had cried over it several times! To make her precious granddaughter happy, Li Ping had given Chen Xiaonuo some ropes so that whenever she caught something, she could tie it up before bringing it home.
If all the small animals in Chen Family Village went extinct, it would definitely be due to Chen Xiaonuo's efforts. She caught everything she saw: fish swimming in the water, mice running on land, birds flying in the sky—she had caught many of them. Anything edible had already found its way into her little belly.
Meilin Huang was truly speechless as she watched Qiuqiu skillfully take the rope and thread it through the fish's mouth from its chin before tying several knots for Chen Xiaonuo. Chen Xiaonuo proudly walked over with the two-pound fish held high in front of Meilin Huang and said, "Aunt Meilin, look! The fish Qiuqiu caught is so big; it's enough for all three of us! Let's go to that barbecue place over there; Uncle Boss can really grill!"
"Come on, this fish is too heavy; let Aunt Meilin help you carry it," Meilin Huang said with a smile as she reached out to take hold of the rope tied around the fish.
Chen Xiaonuo led Meilin Huang to a small barbecue shop built over water. It looked inviting enough that one would want to sit down inside; after all, barbecue shops on water were rare, making this visit worthwhile.
Chen Xiaonuo brought Meilin Huang to the barbecue restaurant. The boss of the barbecue place was a middle-aged man with a big beard. When he saw Chen Xiaonuo, he greeted her warmly, saying, "Xiao Nuo, did you catch some fish again? Do you need Uncle to help you grill it?" The boss really liked Chen Xiaonuo; she was just too adorable and very polite. Although he was willing to accept her money, Chen Xiaonuo often brought him some expensive snacks as a way to repay him, showing more filial piety than his own children. If she weren't Chen Haoxuan's daughter, he would have loved to adopt her as his goddaughter.
Chen Xiaonuo took the fish from Meilin Huang's hands, held it high, and happily said to the boss, "Uncle Boss, look! The fish Qiuqiu caught is so big! You have to grill it really deliciously for Xiao Nuo!"
"Sure thing," the boss replied cheerfully as he took the fish and turned to start cleaning it, preparing to help Chen Xiaonuo with the grilling.
"Thank you for your trouble, Boss," Meilin Huang expressed her gratitude.
"No trouble at all! I really like this child, Xiao Nuo. She's very sensible; I couldn't ask for more than to help her grill!" The boss answered Meilin Huang while cleaning the fish.
The barbecue restaurant was bustling with business, with every seat occupied. This didn't faze Chen Xiaonuo; she ran inside and pulled out two small stools and a tiny table. These were actually her toys that she had brought from home just so they would have somewhere to sit while eating barbecue. The reason for having two stools was that one was for Qiuqiu.
"Aunt Meilin, you get started! Uncle Boss will have the fish grilled up quickly," Chen Xiaonuo said proudly to Meilin Huang. She had chosen a great spot and set up the stools and table on a bamboo raft. Whenever the wind blew, the water would ripple under the raft, making it quite comfortable.
Meilin Huang sat on one of the small stools and smiled at Chen Xiaonuo, saying, "Xiao Nuo, it seems you come here often; otherwise, how would you have your own stool and table?"
"Yes! Xiao Nuo loves coming here for barbecue when there's nothing else to do," Chen Xiaonuo replied sweetly.
Meilin Huang truly wanted to adore Chen Xiaonuo; she was just too cute. She even imagined herself being like Chen Yina and becoming Chen Xiaonuo's mother. Unfortunately, Chen Haoxuan wouldn't agree to that. If he did, taking Chen Xiaonuo out would definitely be impressive.
"Xiao Nuo, do you know how many mommies you have?" Meilin Huang asked softly.
Chen Xiaonuo held up one hand and said, "I know! I have five mommies."
"Xiao Nuo! If Aunt Meilin became your mommy, would you be willing?" Meilin Huang asked quietly, not wanting others to hear. After all, she was no longer the little girl she used to be; she had grown up and become someone important.
Chen Xiaonuo didn't think too much about it. As long as she could have fun with her, she was happy. She clapped her hands excitedly and said, "Sure! Aunt Meilin can be Xiao Nuo's mommy, then Xiao Nuo will have six mommies! So many mommies to love me, Xiao Nuo is so happy!"
"Xiao Nuo, how about this? You can call me mommy in private, but when there are others around, you should call me Aunt Meilin. Remember! This is our little secret," Meilin Huang said with a mischievous smile.
"Okay! Meilin mommy, let's make a pinky promise!" Chen Xiaonuo replied joyfully.
Chen Haoxuan had no idea that his daughter had already found him a wife.
Meilin Huang's actions were actually just a way to fulfill her impossible dream, just like those people say: not seeking eternity, just wanting to have had it once.
