A week passed, and every time Xia Yangyang mentioned Ian, Victor became defensive, making it impossible for her to make a move.
The system had also been urging her to hurry and find the Black Witch to complete the transfer of Ian's Heart of the Ocean.
"Send me to the Mariana Trench!" Xia Yangyang said softly.
The man leaning back on the throne replied coolly, "No."
"I have been reflecting on myself this week. To atone for my sins, I am willing to voluntarily go to the Mariana Trench. Haven't you always wanted to take revenge on me and found me bothersome?"
The Mariana Trench was the residence of the Black Witch, where hundreds of thousands of slaves and criminals were sent each year to mine for gold—mysterious and fraught with danger.
Her tone was sincere and submissive, but Victor's Tentacle wrapped around her waist, pulling her sharply closer.
"Come to atone? You wishful thinker. If you exhaust yourself to death, who will atone for you?"
Xia Yangyang smiled slightly. "I knew you cared about me."
"Heh, what would please me more than killing you is making you wish you were dead."
"That's not right." Xia Yangyang's smile deepened. "You don't want to exile me, nor do you want to torture me. You say you want me to suffer, but I can only feel that you can't bear to part with me. The only thing you've done excessively is not let me see Ian."
In the next moment, she was tightly ensnared by Victor's Tentacle.
Xia Yangyang knew she had hit the mark, which provoked his anger.
After a while, the man on the throne tilted his head slightly, a smirk forming at the corner of his lips. "Is this a provocation? I won't fall for your tricks again. You want to anger me with some impractical nonsense so that in a fit of rage I will comply with your wishes. But I won't; you're not going anywhere."
Xia Yangyang knelt on the ground, lowering her head and asking, "Provocation? I've done so much for you, yet you still hesitate, my lord. I can't possibly still be in love with you, can I?"
This statement struck a nerve with Victor. "Xia Yangyang, stop being so self-indulgent."
Xia Yangyang lifted her face to confront him.
In that tense moment, Elder Turtle entered from the outer hall.
The standoff was broken.
Elder Turtle respectfully presented an invitation: "My lord, the Human Ministry of Foreign Affairs has sent an invitation for you to attend the naval parade."
Victor let out a mocking laugh. "Is this a show of force against us? If humans enjoy flaunting their power at sea so much, then I'll just sink a few more cities to remind them to train properly."
He turned and walked towards the exit.
Xia Yangyang got up from the ground, fearing that this time it would all fall through again.
However, Victor suddenly stopped and pointed to two accompanying officials, commanding, "Send this woman to the Mariana Trench."
Meanwhile, within the Human Biological Gene Organization, a Red-Haired Woman was being shoved into a sealed bag.
A button was pressed, and the experimental chamber was slowly sealed along with the struggling woman.
Several wires connected one part to a computer and another part to the head of the experimental chamber.
The lead researcher gazed at the experimental chamber: "Begin memory import into the Electronic Brain."
The flickering Blue Light Dot began to transmit continuously along the Wires, and all the researchers gathered to witness this momentous scene.
Ten minutes later, the blue light vanished, and the hatch slowly opened. The Red-Haired Woman gradually sat up from the bag, her gaze having undergone a dramatic transformation.
The researchers erupted in excitement: "Doctor, the Doctor is back!"
The Red-Haired Woman smiled with her red lips, her deep eyes sweeping over her students.
"Where is Victor?" The leading researcher wiped away tears of excitement.
She was the Doctor's first disciple and the main person in charge of Mutated Sea Beast II Research.
"I'm sorry, Doctor. I couldn't fulfill your last wish. Three years ago, the second-generation embryo transplant failed, and Victor was returned to the sea by the second-generation human mother."
The Doctor's eyes suddenly lit up: "Then he must be ruling the ocean now, right?"
"Yes, but he is uncontrollable. The land has suffered greatly, and disasters are ongoing."
The Doctor suddenly burst into laughter: "He is my most successful Specimen; how could he disappoint humanity? But to dominate the ocean with the gifts I gave him without thinking about how to repay the home that raised him is truly an uncultured child."
"A new plan can begin."
