As night fell, darkness enveloped everything, and even the bright moon and stars seemed to hide in fear.
The Nursemaid went to rest after Luo Bingbing fell asleep. Suddenly, Luo Bingbing, who was supposed to be sound asleep, abruptly opened her eyes, clear and alert, without even a hint of the usual confusion that comes with waking.
Luo Bingbing lightly closed her eyes and listened carefully to the sounds outside. After confirming that the Nursemaid was indeed fast asleep, she quietly got up to leave a note for the Nursemaid in the study. She informed her that she and Shadowless had matters to attend to outside for the next two days and advised her to take good care of herself in the residence. She instructed her not to go out and not to worry about her. After folding the letter neatly, she placed it by the Nursemaid's pillow and returned to her own room.
She took out the black brocade robe with gold trim that she had asked Shadowless to buy during the day and changed into it. A purple belt with gold trim cinched at her waist complemented her outfit. Her dark hair was tied up high, giving her an appearance reminiscent of a young master—though small in stature, she exuded a powerful presence.
"Shadow!" After getting ready, Luo Bingbing called softly into the air. In the stillness of the night, her voice rang clear like pearls.
As soon as Luo Bingbing finished speaking, a figure appeared in her line of sight amidst a gentle breeze. It was Shadowless, whom Luo Bingbing had saved twice.
"Master, do we really have to go?" Shadowless asked with concern.
Although he knew that Luo Bingbing was exceptionally skilled and far surpassed him at such a young age, there were thousands of members in the Assassin Alliance, each ruthless and cunning. The place was fraught with dangers. As the saying goes: "Two hands cannot defeat four," and even a hero cannot withstand being outnumbered. No matter how strong one person is, they can tire or exhaust their abilities. It wasn't just about facing them openly; it was the hidden traps and poison that were truly frightening!
Moreover, their master was still so young, and his own skills had not yet reached a level where he could adequately protect her. Thus, Shadowless felt deeply worried. He spoke again, "Master, please don't go; let me handle it alone! I promise I will deal with that leader."
"What? Are you afraid I can't handle them? Do you lack confidence in me? Or do you want me to lose trust in others?" Luo Bingbing asked him three questions in quick succession.
Hearing Luo Bingbing's inquiries, Shadowless quickly replied, "I wouldn't dare; I have overstepped."
"Alright then, let's hurry!"
With a wave of her hand, Luo Bingbing set up an invisible barrier around both of them. She jumped out of the window first, followed by Shadowless, and the two walked openly in the air above the royal residence.
Once outside the royal residence, Luo Bingbing removed the invisible barrier from herself and Shadowless, as creating barriers consumed some of her energy.
The night was pitch black, with no light in sight. However, neither the darkness nor daylight affected Luo Bingbing's vision at all. Shadowless had slightly poorer night vision than Luo Bingbing, but it did not hinder their progress.
The headquarters of the Assassin Alliance was located at the foot of Qin Mountain, and Silver City was not far from it—just a few hours' journey. Therefore, deep into the night, they arrived at the headquarters of the Assassin Alliance.
After quickly surveying the terrain of the headquarters, Luo Bingbing couldn't help but admire the ancient construction skills; the defensive capabilities of this headquarters were as solid as a fortress! Perhaps to prevent her from entering, they had increased the number of Minggang sentries significantly.
With a seemingly casual snap of her fingers, she set up an invisible barrier around herself and Shadowless.
"Shadowless, we’ll flank them from both sides—I'll go left and you go right. Let's take out their sentries," Luo Bingbing instructed before stepping forward.
Seeing this, Shadowless quickly grabbed her hand. Before he could speak, Luo Bingbing turned to him with a reassuring look and patted his hand. "Don't worry; they can't see us. I've set up an invisible barrier around us. Let's move quickly."
Luo Bingbing entered from the left first. Once she did, Shadowless hurriedly followed her in from the right. In the darkness, their figures were completely undetectable; only vague outlines of assassins could be seen silently falling one after another. Most of them didn’t even realize how they had met their end; they were swiftly eliminated by Luo Bingbing and Shadowless in silence.
They made their way unimpeded to the main hall of the Assassin Alliance Headquarters and found it completely empty. Shadowless led Luo Bingbing toward the main house where the leader Lin Fengyuan resided. Being an "Old Ginger," he sensed danger instinctively and opened his eyes wide awake. Although he had just awakened from a deep sleep, his eyes were clear without any trace of confusion typical for someone just waking up. He sat on the edge of his bed, slightly tilting his ear to listen to any sounds outside.
Even though he had set the headquarters' defenses to maximum and moved from Lin Fengyuan's quarters to Lin Lan Courtyard to guard against Shadowless, his ears told him that everything seemed normal. Yet, years of instinct clearly informed him that every breath carried an element called "danger."
Something must have happened or was happening! It was possible that outsiders had entered the headquarters without anyone inside being aware. If that were true, then this enemy was truly terrifying!
Although his mind was constantly working and thinking, his hands and feet never stopped for a moment as he quickly got dressed and called for his hidden weapon.
"Ji! Quickly gather everyone from the headquarters to the hall and issue a Level One alert."
"Yes," a shadow flashed, leaving only the leader of the Assassin Alliance in the room.
Luo Bingbing and Shadowless arrived at Lin Fengyuan but saw not even a shadow, let alone resolve the life of the Assassin Alliance leader. As they were about to exit Lin Fengyuan's courtyard, they heard the sound of a Level One alert being issued, followed by the hurried footsteps of many people outside Lin Fengyuan.
"Master, they discovered an intruder and issued a Level One alert. Now everyone in the Assassin Alliance is gathering at Headquarters Hall. What should we do?" Shadowless secretly transmitted to Luo Bingbing.
"Quietly follow them and observe the situation first," Luo Bingbing communicated directly into Shadowless's mind using her ability.
Luo Bingbing and Shadowless trailed behind them into the hall of the Assassin Alliance Headquarters, where they saw over a thousand people gathered in this several hundred square meter hall. At the center of the stone steps sat a man in a gray brocade robe, around fifty years old. His hair was graying at the temples, with thick eyebrows and large eyes on a square face. His expression was frighteningly gloomy, exuding an extremely fierce aura. His piercing eyes constantly scanned the room, revealing a glint of sharpness, and he emanated a dark atmosphere that suggested he was used to holding power, radiating an intimidating presence.
Without needing to think, Luo Bingbing knew that this man was her target for today—the Famed Leader of the Assassin Alliance. As for those around him, it was obvious they were his subordinates.
While Luo Bingbing was observing, the leader of the Assassin Alliance spoke up. "What are you all doing? Someone is killing right in your home, yet you haven't even seen their shadow." As he spoke, he felt as if he were being watched like prey. Although it lasted only a few seconds, his instincts as an assassin kicked in. However, all he saw were familiar subordinates, none of whom posed any danger; thus, it could only be an external intruder.
The ability to enter this hall silently without anyone noticing sent chills down his spine, making him treat this situation with utmost caution. He knew Shadowless's skills well enough to dismiss any notion that it could be Shadowless or that little brat mentioned by his subordinates.
"Which friend has come to visit? Please reveal yourself," he called out loudly into the air.
At this moment, the two unexpected guests who had intruded into the Assassin Alliance Headquarters knew there was no longer any need for concealment. They finally removed the invisible barrier and gracefully made their way down the stone steps.
The people in the hall were astonished to see these two figures appear out of nowhere, whispering among themselves. They had not seen them before; how could they suddenly show up in the hall?
Those who had seen Luo Bingbing were terrified, while those who had not, upon seeing her approach their Alliance Master, feared she might attack him. They hurriedly surrounded their leader, their eyes on Luo Bingbing filled with eagerness and battle intent.
The Alliance Master of the Assassin Alliance had been fixated on Luo Bingbing since her appearance, not daring to take his eyes off her for a moment. He knew that the source of the danger he felt was this seemingly five or six-year-old child.
When Luo Bingbing reached the stone steps, Shadowless immediately brought her a chair to sit down. At that moment, the Alliance Master finally got a clear look at the exquisite child before him.
The little girl exuded an air of nobility, resting her head on one hand as she sat sideways on a Carved Wooden Chair.
Her porcelain-like face was flawless, and her clear eyes concealed a turbulent undercurrent that was hard to detect, drawing people in unknowingly and leaving them unable to escape.
Her hair was as dark as ink, casually tied with a jade ribbon; she wore a black robe with golden edges, layered with a matching long cloak that seemed thrown on carelessly. However, it highlighted her lazy demeanor and added an alluring charm!
Though she was still very young, with a broad smile on her lips and eyes that seemed not to notice anyone else, she still instilled great fear and anxiety in those around her, like a hunter who could toy with its prey at will and deliver a fatal blow at any moment...
The heart of the Assassin Alliance Master was shaken—deeply shaken!
