Luo Bingbing loudly said to the little fox in the hot spring, "Little one, dive down and see if you can find that red grass you pulled up last time. If you find it, I'll treat you to some delicious roasted meat later."
As soon as Luo Bingbing finished speaking, the little fox quickly dove underwater to search for the precious grass. Watching its performance, Luo Bingbing couldn't help but smile with satisfaction.
After a while, the little fox emerged from the water. Its small head broke the surface, and it was holding a piece of Crimson Grass in its mouth as it swiftly swam towards Luo Bingbing.
Seeing that the little fox had indeed found the Crimson Grass, Luo Bingbing's earlier frustration vanished instantly, replaced by an indescribable joy.
Once the little fox reached the shore, Luo Bingbing took the piece of Crimson Grass from its mouth and put it in her pocket. She then instructed the little fox to dive back into the hot spring to look for more grass, telling it to place any grass it found on the large rock where she was standing. She mentioned that she would go hunt some game in the forest and reward it later.
The spiritually connected little fox affectionately nudged her foot with its head before quickly leaping back into the hot spring to search for more Crimson Grass.
Meanwhile, Luo Bingbing turned and walked into the forest to hunt some game. She caught several wild rabbits and a few mountain chickens. Just when she thought she had enough, a wild boar suddenly jumped out in front of her, so she skillfully took it down as well.
Returning not far from the hot spring, she placed her catch by a nearby stream to clean and prepare them. After washing them thoroughly, she set them on a large rock nearby. She then gathered some firewood from the surrounding forest and picked some Sour Fruit and Fruit of the Salty Tree to use as seasoning for her roasted meat. Once everything was ready, she began roasting the meat.
At first, there was no need to stay by the fire, so Luo Bingbing went to check on how many pieces of Crimson Grass the little fox had pulled up.
When she reached the edge of the hot spring, she saw three pieces of Crimson Grass placed on the large rock where she had been standing earlier. A deep smile spread across her face.
Just then, there was a splash in the water, and a small fox head popped up. Luo Bingbing noticed that the little fox was once again holding a piece of Crimson Grass in its mouth, making her smile even wider.
The little fox saw Luo Bingbing returning and couldn't help but quicken its pace, swiftly making its way to her location. As soon as it reached the shore, it leaped into Luo Bingbing's arms, placing the Crimson Grass it had in its mouth onto her clothes, affectionately licking them as if to show off or perhaps to ask, "Where's my reward?"
Luo Bingbing gently patted its head and said slowly, "Little one, don't rush, it will be ready soon."
After putting away the precious grass the little fox had found into her embrace, Luo Bingbing took the little fox back to where they were roasting meat.
Before long, a rich aroma of meat wafted through the air, making the little fox drool as it circled around the fire. Finally, the meat was ready. Luo Bingbing took down the delicious roasted meat and first tossed a Roasted Mountain Chicken to the little fox while she herself pulled off a chicken leg to eat. However, before she could take more than a few bites of her chicken leg, the little fox quickly came up to her, wagging its tail and looking at her with pitiful eyes, as if to say that it was still hungry and hadn't had enough.
So she first threw her chicken leg to the little fox and then took down the roasted wild boar. Using a small dagger hidden on her person, she cut off a quarter of the roasted boar and tossed it toward the little fox's mouth. Despite its small size, the little fox had quite an appetite and only felt full after eating half of the wild boar.
Meanwhile, Luo Bingbing herself was satisfied after eating just half of a Roasted Mountain Chicken. She then went into the forest to pick some larger leaves to use for wrapping up any leftover roasted meat for their return journey.
Seeing that the little fox was full and no longer eating, she instructed it to guard the roasted meat and prevent other animals in the forest from stealing it.
As for herself, she went to soak in a hot spring. Upon reaching the edge of the spring, she waved her hand to set up an invisible barrier before removing her clothes and stepping into the warm water.
Just one minute after she entered the hot spring, she sensed someone approaching quickly towards its vicinity. Since she had set up a barrier, she felt no concern about being exposed and continued to enjoy the comfort provided by the spring water.
What she didn't know was that the person approaching rapidly was none other than that strange old man in her heart—the Snow Spirit Elder from Ling Mountain.
In fact, he had been tied up and hung from a tree branch, unable to get down or climb up. The shaking of the branches made him feel quite uncomfortable as he hung there.
Just when he was feeling frustrated, he suddenly noticed a large stone below him with a sharp point sticking out right in his direction.
He immediately thought of an excellent idea to escape successfully. Without hesitation, he vigorously shook the branch that was holding his clothes, trying to break it. He shook and shook! Finally, the branch snapped, and he fell towards the sharp edge of a large rock. As he landed near the rock, its sharp corner just happened to cut through the rope that bound him. When he hit the ground, the rope was naturally severed by the sharp edge of the rock, freeing him from his shackles, and he successfully escaped this minor peril.
Luo Bingbing had hung him on the branch, but instead of being upset, he felt quite happy. Don't think he was crazy or had a problem; he simply believed that Luo Bingbing was a precious gem and a promising disciple. If he could take her as his apprentice, he wouldn't have to worry about his life's work and martial arts being without successors.
Thus, he couldn't help but think to himself that he must take Luo Bingbing as his disciple.
With this thought in mind, he immediately used his sense of smell to track down the lingering scent of Luo Bingbing in the air. After several encounters with her, he had memorized her fragrance, and the scent of the Snow Spirit Fox had also embedded itself in his mind. Therefore, he quickly found the direction in which Luo Bingbing had disappeared by following the residual scent in the air.
With a target and direction in mind, he exerted all his power and swiftly pursued Luo Bingbing's location. The hot spring where she was located was only a few thousand miles away from where he was, but as a legend of this world and a myth of the martial realm, he quickly caught up with Luo Bingbing and found her enjoying roasted meat with the Snow Spirit Fox.
