In the grocery store, Liu Qingxi picked up a rough ceramic bowl and asked, "Shopkeeper, how much is this bowl?"
Next to it was a delicate one, and without asking, she knew it wouldn't be cheap.
"Miss, that type you are holding is three coins each!" the Shopkeeper came over to assist.
"What about this knife? And these chopsticks?" Liu Qingxi inquired as she picked up these essential items one by one.

The young man gasped for breath and said, "Qingxi, what brings you to town? What did you buy?"
It turned out that Yang Yichen had seen Liu Qingxi from the second floor of the tavern and hurried down to greet her. Seeing his good friend made him feel joyful, his face lit up with a smile.
"I bought some daily necessities. What about you? What are you doing here?" Liu Qingxi instinctively asked.
Suddenly realizing, "You’re back home! I haven't seen you for a while!" Yang Yichen's family lives in Biqi Town, so it’s not surprising to see him here.
"Yeah, yeah, my parents haven't seen me for a while. I stayed in town for a few days before heading back. Can I come to play with you then?" Yang Yichen chatted casually.
"Sure, but don’t go to the cave area anymore. My brother and I have moved out; we now live on the West Side of the Village!" Liu Qingxi thought that Yang Yichen was a boy lacking friends.
Having a friend like this is quite nice; he doesn’t have the airs of a young master and is humble.
"Huh? Why did you move out? Is it your Aunt's doing? What happened?"

Liu Qingxi quickly refused, "Thank you, but no need. We’ll just grab something to eat ourselves later!" She didn’t want to trouble others too much; it would be hard to repay such kindness.
"You coming to town means you're at my house. It’s only right for me to treat you to a meal. Come on, come on! The restaurant across the street is our family’s; let’s eat there!" Yang Yichen wouldn’t take no for an answer.
Kid Liu Qingyan looked at Liu Qingxi expectantly. After all, the food from the Yang Family was delicious; wouldn’t it be even better in town?
Having not eaten anything since getting up that morning, Kid was already hungry, so when Yang Yichen asked, she answered without any hesitation.
"That won’t do; the food at the restaurant is so expensive! Really, we can just eat something casual by the roadside!" Liu Qingxi then pulled Liu Qingyan towards the nearest stall.
Just joking, the wild chicken I just sold happens to be from Yang's Tavern across the street. Who knew it was from Yang Yichen's family? It makes sense since they share the same surname!
A meal there would probably cover all her expenses for today; she couldn't afford it!
She was even less willing to let Yang Yichen treat her. Normally in Village, she would settle for a few pieces of pastries, as she wasn't one to accept things from others without reason, so she didn't want to hear him out.
"Alright then, let's eat here!" Yang Yichen saw that Liu Qingxi genuinely didn't want to go to the restaurant, so he decided to go with them to the stall.
This was a noodle stall, where a large serving of noodles without meat cost three coins, and a portion was two coins. Liu Qingxi didn't order meat; given her current financial situation, this was already a rare delicacy!
Soon, the plain noodles arrived. Liu Qingxi ordered two large bowls, which were quite generous, giving the big bowls to the two boys and keeping a bowl for herself.
The white noodles, fresh green vegetables, and finely chopped scallions created an enticing aroma.
Having not eaten yesterday, the siblings devoured their food ravenously, especially Liu Qingyan, who praised as he ate, "Delicious! Really delicious!"
For Yang Yichen, this was just a bowl of ordinary noodles, but seeing the siblings enjoy their meal so much sparked his appetite.
He picked up his chopsticks, lifted a strand of noodles, and slowly placed it in his mouth with graceful movements.
Out of the corner of her eye, Liu Qingxi noticed Yang Yichen's fluid motions and couldn't help but sigh; indeed, different environments create different people.

However, she did slow down her eating pace after the first few bites; her stomach felt less uncomfortable now.
After everyone finished eating, Liu Qingxi prepared to pay the bill when Yang Yichen jumped in first: "Boss, we're ready to settle up; the money is on the table!"
"Alright, take care!"
A few people stood up, picked up their belongings, and prepared to leave. Liu Qingxi said, "Thank you for treating us to the noodles, they were delicious!"
Yang Yichen chuckled, "As long as it's tasty, heh! By the way, Qingxi, what are you all planning to do next? When will you head back?"
"We're going to buy some more food and then get ready to go home; we've almost finished our shopping!" Liu Qingxi explained. "Yang Yichen, take care of yourself. We're leaving now!"
"Okay, take your time on the way back. Should I send someone with you?"
"No need, we'll walk back ourselves!" Liu Qingxi waved her hand and parted ways with Yang Yichen.
The siblings headed straight to the Grain Store with their purchased pots and bowls. They inquired about the prices of food: fine rice was eight wen per pound, white flour six wen per pound, while brown rice and mixed noodles were cheaper at four and three wen per pound respectively.
"Boss, I'll take two pounds of brown rice and five pounds of mixed noodles!" The food they bought wouldn't go to waste; Liu Qingxi spent almost all of her remaining Copper Coins.
Leaving eight wen for emergencies!
After parting with Liu Qingxi, Yang Yichen returned to Yang's Tavern and instructed Anan, "Go ask what happened with Qingxi while I was away."
