Bu would not let this Fellow escape so easily. He threw down the velvet robe in his hand and chased after him again.
The wind howled fiercely as Bu's figure unfolded. He leaped into the air, gliding like a large bird, and each time he exhausted his strength, he only needed to lightly touch the ground to soar far ahead once more.
In just a few jumps, Bu had caught up to the opponent again.
The Lecherous Dwarf was now completely drained, his internal energy nearly depleted, and his physical stamina was severely exhausted. His running speed had reached its limit, and he felt as if his lungs were about to burn. Yet, the shadow of death loomed over him.
With a sudden burst of speed, Bu leaned forward, extending his hand to grab the Lecherous Dwarf, who was now within reach.
Feeling the fierce wind slicing through the air behind him, the Lecherous Dwarf's heart nearly leaped out of his throat. He hurriedly turned around, trying to change direction once more.
Unfortunately, this attempt was destined to fail.
Bu had long anticipated this move, and now that the opponent's stamina was greatly diminished and his speed significantly reduced, Bu merely redirected his outstretched hand towards the Dwarf's shoulder, which he could not evade in time.
With a swift motion reminiscent of an eagle diving from the sky, Bu's sharp and powerful claws seized the prey's body firmly. No matter how much the Dwarf struggled, it proved futile.
At that moment, when Bu's hand grasped the Lecherous Dwarf's shoulder, his fingers suddenly tightened as if five steel blades had plunged deep into the Dwarf's shoulder, securing their grip and causing blood to spill forth.
"Ah..." The Lecherous Dwarf screamed in agony, turning around to raise his other hand in an attempt to strike Bu.
Seeing this, Bu let out a cold laugh. With a single arm swing, as if tossing aside a ragged sack, he lifted the Lecherous Dwarf and slammed him down.
With a heavy thud that echoed as the weight hit the ground, the Lecherous Dwarf cried out in a piercing wail.
Bu showed no signs of releasing his grip on the Dwarf's shoulder. He swung his arm again with force, as if wielding a hammer against the ground.
Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!
Dust scattered as the ground trembled.
The Lecherous Dwarf was slammed to the ground by Bu, and by the end, it was no longer the sound of a heavy object hitting the floor, but rather the continuous cracking of bones.
When the stench of blood became overwhelming, Bu stopped his frenzied actions and released the Lecherous Dwarf's limp shoulders. This brutal assault had exhausted him as well.
However, the Lecherous Dwarf was now unrecognizable as a human; his entire body was twisted, with blood splattered everywhere.
Looking at the pool of bright red blood on the ground, the acrid smell assaulted Bu's senses, causing him to feel dizzy as if he were engulfed in a sea of crimson.
Suddenly, it felt as if the world had flipped upside down.
In his mind, a tumultuous sea of blood surged forth, and chaotic cries of battle echoed from all directions like a maddening chant. Bu's head throbbed painfully, and deep within him, a seductive voice urged him on: "Kill them, kill them all, drain their blood. The glory of the vampire will soon belong to you. Kill, kill, kill."
Unconsciously, Bu's eyes glowed red as a violent aura emanated from him. His fingernails slowly elongated into sharp claws like those of a demon. His face contorted into a fierce expression, and his canine teeth began to extend.
"Kill, drain their blood; I am a vampire."
Bu seemed entranced, murmuring these words without realizing the danger of continuing down this path.
"Ding ding ding ding ding"
"System Notification: Killed low-level human martial artist—Angus Turner. Gained 10 Experience points. Total Experience gained: 10 points."
"System Notification: Killed elite low-level human martial artist—Kerry Wood. Gained 180 Experience points. Total Experience gained: 180 points."
"System Notification: Killed... Gained 10 Experience points."
"System Notification: ... Gained 10 Experience points."
"System Notification: ... Gained 10 Experience points."
Suddenly, amidst the blood-soaked chaos in his mind, a transparent module appeared, and a series of System notifications rang out rapidly. The mechanical and hollow sound of the System Notification cleared away the chaotic voices in his head as prompts flashed before him at lightning speed.
Bu suddenly jolted awake from his trance, and as he lowered his head, the scene before him startled him.
He saw his sharp claws slowly retracting and felt the vampire fangs that had begun to protrude from his lips gradually shrinking back. The demonic voice within him began to fade away.
"What... what is happening?"
Bu stood there in a daze, the previous scene of blood surging and overwhelming killing intent was too evil and bizarre. He felt lost and confused, his thoughts in disarray.
After a long while, Bu took a few deep breaths, gradually calming down and thinking clearly.
"I was stimulated by blood. My instincts wanted to feed, which triggered the evil demonic nature within my vampire bloodline?"
He had a slight inkling of what had transpired, feeling a sense of lingering fear.
If he had truly been controlled by that demonic nature, he would have become a bloodthirsty vampire, devoid of recognition for kin, consumed only by the thought of slaughter, a bloodthirsty monster.
He didn't know how to expel this evil nature that resided deep within his bloodline. The only course of action was to reduce killings during battles and avoid excessively bloody scenes to minimize the triggering of this evil nature.
In truth, Bu was unaware that the moment he killed his first person, the demonic nature in his bloodline had begun to boil. It was just very weak at first, hardly affecting his mind, which is why it had remained dormant.
By the time he killed the second and third black-clad men, he was already under the influence of that demonic nature.
He began to unconsciously enjoy the feeling of bloody slaughter, losing some of his composure; otherwise, with his usual caution, how could he have recklessly fought five opponents alone?
It wasn't until he killed the Lecherous Dwarf that the demonic nature within him finally erupted completely.
It was like a volcano suppressed for a thousand years or a dam holding back floodwaters; as internal pressure continued to build up, it could no longer be contained and erupted violently, flooding everything in its path.
Bu steadied his mind and calmed his restless emotions. Once he felt his mental state gradually returning to normal, he finally sighed in relief.
This time he was lucky; the System's prompt had been triggered by the sudden surge of violent emotions in his mind, allowing him to escape disaster. Next time, however, it might not be so fortunate.
However, if he cannot kill the enemy in the future, leaving potential threats behind, the thought of gaining experience points through killing enemies must be abandoned.
Such losses are somewhat unacceptable. If he does not kill the enemy, will he have to deal with them again once they recover from their injuries?
Without killing the enemy, aside from hunting monsters to gain experience points, he has no other quick way to level up. This is undoubtedly a terrible situation for someone like him who is eager to improve his strength.
Unable to come up with a perfect solution for the moment, he once again indulged his lazy nature. He decided not to think about it anymore; overthinking only leads to headaches. He focused on the present and left future matters for later.
He gathered his thoughts and entered his personal attributes module. He checked his current experience points, which had reached 900. He only needed another 100 experience points to break through to low-level.
After several intense battles, his physical condition had dropped to 59% severely injured. This was mainly due to the last strike from the Lecherous Dwarf, which he hastily received with a leg technique, resulting in a fractured arm.
This was also due to his high constitution of 0; otherwise, it wouldn't have been such a minor injury.
Glancing at the twisted and deformed corpse of the black-clad dwarf on the ground, he stomped his foot and turned to leave.
His figure flickered as he quickly retraced his steps. In just a moment, he spotted several figures not far ahead. However, what he saw next made his heart race with urgency.
"Put down that fellow! Let me handle it!"
Before he arrived, the voice reached him first.
He couldn't afford to be anxious now; he was just 100 experience points away from leveling up. Those 100 experience points felt like a fishbone stuck in his throat. The Yellow Robed Old Man was currently holding a black-clad man captive and was about to strike down, intending to kill him outright.
This was an opportunity that had come knocking at his door; how could he let it slip away? No matter what kind of threat loomed over him, he couldn't hesitate now. He needed to act gently but decisively; could he really afford to wait until the knife was removed before taking action?
He didn't have the patience to wait until it was safe; it wasn't that he wasn't afraid of death—he was very much afraid. But now, not only was there the threat of death hanging over him like a knife, but there was also the three-year deadline of the Ultimate Mission—a slow poison that would lead him to death if he couldn't quickly improve his strength and complete it.
Whether dying sooner or later meant death all the same; if he had to die, it should be taking down his enemies.
The frustration within Bu Xin was overwhelming. Others who crossed over became powerful and encountered beautiful adventures as if butterflies met flowers or bears found honey—everyone flocked around them.
Why did it have to be so miserable for him? The Ultimate Mission had no clear direction yet, and now there was this looming threat—did they even want him alive?
A wave of complaints echoed as Bu's figure darted forward, leaping several times to reach the side of the Elder in Yellow and the others.
"Sir, do you plan to handle this Fellow personally?"
The Elder in Yellow smiled and asked as Bu arrived beside him. The others looked at Bu with strange expressions, while the two beautiful women had questioning glints in their eyes, appearing quite curious.
Locke had already driven the carriage to this location and joined the group. He asked with concern, "Master, are you alright?"
Bu waved his hand with a smile, indicating that he was fine.
Having spent time with Bu over the past few days, Locke understood his temperament and did not press further.
He no longer harbored resentment towards Bu; after all, the incident was primarily his own fault.
Moreover, through their interactions during this time, he found Bu to be quite likable—he did not act superior and treated his own people well.
Thus, Locke no longer fixated on the shame of being a Servant; it was only a matter of a year, after which he would regain his freedom.
