A pill radiating a water-blue glow, seemingly transparent, appeared to have flowing water within it, looking extraordinarily mystical. Eve extended her delicate fingers and gently placed the gem-like Water Spirit Pill into Bu's mouth. The warmth of her fingers touched Bu's dry and cold lips, seemingly adding a hint of vitality.
As the pill entered, it transformed into a cool sensation that flowed down his throat, like water rushing into his body. There was no medicinal fragrance; it was as plain as plain water. Bu Qiang's fierce recovery ability quickly began to take effect, rapidly healing his injuries in conjunction with the medicine.
The term "bringing the dead back to life" perfectly described Bu's current recovery state. As the pill worked its magic, Eve watched in astonishment as Bu's wounds stopped bleeding completely. Not only that, but in a visibly accelerated Speed, his cells rapidly regenerated. The red flesh connected together to form muscle fibers, and white bones extended from the broken ends, restoring themselves completely. Everything appeared so orderly and incredible.
"This..." Eve exclaimed in shock, pointing at Bu's recovering body, unable to form a complete sentence.
Hong Lian did not explain; his focus remained on Bu's healing process, waiting for the perfect moment to act.
That moment arrived quickly. Once Bu's chest had fully healed and the recovery spread to his right shoulder, Hong Lian struck like lightning, swiftly pressing the severed right arm against Bu's shoulder. The bones aligned perfectly without any deviation.
As if struck by an electric current, the severed arm fused tightly with the shoulder. With Bu's powerful recovery ability, the torn muscle fibers reconnected one by one, and the newly grown bones seamlessly joined with the broken ones. A thin layer of white fat covered the crimson area, and tender skin emerged, concealing the gruesome wound. Everything seemed dreamlike and returned to its original state.
Eve could no longer contain her astonishment and looked at Hong Lian in disbelief as she exclaimed, "How is this possible? A severed limb can be reattached so easily? There is no medicine that can achieve such an effect except for a miraculous herb that can bring the dead back to life! Moreover, this happened in such a short time; it's simply impossible."
Indeed, it was impossible—utterly impossible.
Unless one possessed extraordinary strength capable of regenerating limbs or encountered a rare miraculous herb that could not be sought after, no medicine could have such an effect to reattach severed limbs in such a short time. Even if it was not true regeneration but merely reattachment, it still shouldn't be feasible.
"Cough cough! What's wrong? Are you unhappy seeing me restored?" Bu had just endured the intense pain and itchiness of his body regenerating. Now that he was fully healed, he finally relaxed and smiled at Eve with a teasing tone.
"N-no! I just thought... could my Water Spirit Pill really have such strong effects?" Eve seemed incredulous as she gently poked at Bu's reattached right arm with her finger, looking adorably curious like a cat.
Bu chuckled softly and thought for a moment. Since Eve was already his woman, some things couldn't be hidden any longer; it would be better to take this opportunity to reveal everything directly.
"The efficacy of your pill is indeed impressive—much better than some of the medicines I used before. However, my recovery isn't solely due to the pill; part of it comes from my physique." Bu moved his right arm a few times and winked at Eve while playfully pinching her fair cheek.
Eve's cheeks flushed slightly as she took hold of Bu's hand and placed it beside her leg. Then she glanced at Hong Lian with some embarrassment and said softly, "So it's because of your physique? Are you...?" At this point, Eve's eyes lit up as if she had grasped something crucial and exclaimed in delight, "You have a special physique?"
"Uh." Bu shrugged and pulled Eve's hand as he got up from the ground.
Upon receiving Bu's confirmation, Eve instantly became overjoyed and chattered excitedly beside his ear with questions nonstop. This left Bu feeling overwhelmed; having just lost a lot of blood, he was now dizzy from her rapid-fire inquiries.
"Alright, alright! I'll explain all these things later when we have time. For now, let's clean up the battlefield," Bu said quickly to change the subject as he felt unable to handle her enthusiasm any longer.
Bernie, the Black Tower, and the Scarred Man were all dead, leaving only Byron to escape. Before fleeing, Byron did not bother to retrieve the bodies of his fallen brothers. The three corpses left behind allowed Bu to profit from their deaths.
All three were Intermediate Level 4 powerhouses, well-known figures in the mercenary world of Dysia Kingdom. They held important positions in the Divine Mercenary Corps founded by Byron, and each had considerable wealth. Precious items like Storage Bracelets were standard among them, making Bu quite pleased.
However, despite his joy, Bu felt a pang of sorrow at the loss of his semi-legendary Taiyuan Spear in this battle.
The saying goes that a thousand soldiers are easy to find, but a general is hard to come by. For most martial artists who reach Intermediate Level, Fine Grade weapons are common, while semi-legendary weapons are rare treasures.
Fine Grade weapons are nearly ubiquitous among Intermediate Level martial artists, but acquiring a semi-legendary weapon is exceedingly difficult.
The Taiyuan Spear, a treasured heirloom of the Crook Duchy and the Arthur Royal Family, originated from ancient times and was gifted by the first royal family of Crook Duchy. It is not only a semi-legendary Amplification weapon but is also likely tied to some ancient secret. Bu recalled a line from its description: "On the day it breaks its seal, it awakens the soul."
"It's a pity that this spear was destroyed before I could even warm it up. When I return and see Kalandor, he will probably have murderous intentions towards me." With a sigh, Bu handed a Storage Bracelet to both Hong Lian and Eve. The three of them focused their Mental Power into the bracelets and began searching for valuable items.
Storage Bracelets are spatial storage devices that become bound to their owner once imprinted with their mental signature. Without the owner's permission, others cannot access or store items within them. Once the owner dies, however, the mental imprint dissipates quickly, allowing anyone to take whatever they want without restriction.
Of course, there are exceptions; some exceptionally powerful individuals can access another's Storage Bracelet without needing to steal it—merely by using their Mental Power or spiritual sense to enter and take what they wish. This situation arises from a significant disparity in strength between the two parties.
With Bernie and his companions dead, their Storage Bracelets no longer held any mental imprints. Bu and his companions soon uncovered a pile of valuable items.
"Over a hundred Fourth-Grade Azure Jades, three pieces of Fine Grade Amplification Equipment, one weapon, and more than ten low-level Combat Skills books, along with several unidentified potions," Hong Lian reported succinctly as she donned her new bracelet.
It was quite pitiful; for a long time, Bu and Hong Lian had shared a single Storage Bracelet. Now they finally had a second one without needing to spend money on it.
"It’s easier to profit from dead men," Bu mused as he reflected on how his own Storage Bracelet came from killing others for treasure.
"Guess what good stuff I have in here," Eve teased as she waved her bracelet in front of Bu's eyes, her bright gaze sparkling with mischief.
"I can't guess," Bu replied nonchalantly as he shrugged.
"Just take a guess," Eve insisted playfully.
"If I guess right, you give me a kiss; if I don't guess right, I get to kiss you," Bu said with a wicked grin as he grabbed Eve's wrist.
"Rogue," Eve scoffed lightly while rolling her eyes at him. The charm in her gaze nearly left Bu spellbound.
"This Storage Bracelet belongs to Bernie. Bernie holds a significant position within the Divine Mercenary Corps. Aside from Byron and a few other elder figures, he is considered the top person. The items stored in this Storage Bracelet are quite valuable; I estimate that it represents nearly all of his wealth, certainly worth much more than the items in the other two people's Storage Bracelets."
Eve smiled charmingly, twirling the dark red Storage Bracelet with her fingertip.
"What do you have in there?" After listening to so much of Eve's chatter, Bu felt a bit annoyed and flicked her smooth forehead hard.
Eve winced in pain, letting out a soft cry. She shot Bu a resentful glance before pouting and saying, "There are over five hundred pieces of Azure Jade ranging from third to fifth grade, with one-fifth being Fifth-Grade Azure Jade. There are three pieces of Fine Grade Amplification Equipment, all top-notch, and a half-legendary short sword. I want that short sword." At this point, Eve sneakily glanced at Bu.
"Take it," Bu rolled his eyes.
Eve instantly felt delighted and continued cheerfully, "There are also four books on Intermediate Combat Skills, eight bottles of Cloud Dispersal for auxiliary training, and two Purple Gold Cards. Uh, what is this?"
"What?" Seeing Eve suddenly widen her eyes in surprise, Bu couldn't help but feel puzzled.
"A stone tablet inscribed with the cultivation method for the Soul-vanishing Fan."
"Ah?" Bu's eyes widened just like Eve's as he quickly snatched the bracelet from her hand and probed inside with a thread of Mental Power.
