Chapter One Hundred and Four: Taking You to My Home 0

As the two reached the entrance of the inn, Zhang Qiu suddenly stopped. He looked at himself and then at Jiang Xue. Zhang Qiu's clothes were torn in several places, with many spots stained with blood. Jiang Xue was in worse condition; her upper body was almost entirely covered in blood. Zhang Qiu thought to himself that if they went in like this, whether the innkeeper would allow them to stay was one thing, but they might even get reported to the police. 0

Seeing Zhang Qiu stop, Jiang Xue stared into his eyes and asked, "What's wrong? Don't you want to go?" 0

"It's not that. I just noticed that we're both covered in blood. If we go into the inn, it might..." 0

Jiang Xue glanced at Zhang Qiu and then at herself, lowering her head sadly as she said softly, "Oh, then forget it." 0

Zhang Qiu seemed to think of something and suddenly grabbed Jiang Xue's hand, saying, "Let's go to my house!" Without waiting for her response, he pulled her hand and headed in the direction of his home. Jiang Xue had no objections and followed closely behind him, understanding his thoughts. 0

Fortunately, Zhang Qiu's home wasn't too far away. Given their current state, he didn't dare take a taxi. Even walking meant that many passersby were staring at them. Zhang Qiu could only lead Jiang Xue through less crowded areas. Their sudden appearance occasionally caused women walking alone to scream. 0

Upon entering the residential complex, rows of two-story buildings were neatly arranged along a wide main road, with alleys on either side. Zhang Qiu stopped in front of one of the buildings while Jiang Xue curiously looked around and said, "It feels different from when I came here before; it seems a bit desolate." 0

Zhang Qiu sighed and replied, "Isn't it desolate? It's about to be demolished. Many residents who signed contracts have already moved out; my family will be moving soon too." 0

"No wonder," Jiang Xue suddenly sighed. "If a house is gone, it can be rebuilt—maybe even better. But what if a person is gone?" 0

Zhang Qiu wrapped his arms around Jiang Xue and said, "Don't think about such things. With me here, everything will be alright; I'll be with you." At that moment, there was no distinction between friendship and love; all that existed was a deep sorrow emanating from their hearts. 0

Jiang Xue pondered aloud, "Where do people go when they die?" 0

Zhang Qiu looked into Jiang Xue's eyes and replied earnestly, "We still don't know if Liu Xiaofei is dead or alive. Even if he is dead, I will never let you pay for his life." 0

Qiu Wan. Jiang Xue smiled happily; her smile was sweet but made Zhang Qiu feel a pang in his heart. 0

As they opened the door and entered the house, Zhang Qiu heard his father's voice from the living room: "Is the break over?" 0

"The break is over," Zhang Qiu replied. "Dad, I brought a friend home." He led Jiang Xue into the living room. 0

Zhang Zhi Hua was shocked by the scene before him, causing the cup in his hand to drop onto the Tea Table with a loud clatter, spilling tea over the edge. 0

"Where are you hurt? What happened? Let me see!" Zhang Zhi Hua stood up and moved towards Zhang Qiu. His leg had improved enough that he no longer needed a cane, but he still walked with a noticeable limp, looking as if he might fall at any moment. 0

Zhang Qiu hurried forward to support his father, saying, "Dad, I'm fine. We're both okay; the blood on us is someone else's. It's a long story, and I'll explain it to you later. Just let my friend take a shower first, alright?" 0

"Okay, okay, take her upstairs," Zhang Zhi Hua said, feeling a huge weight lift off his chest upon seeing his son safe. However, even if his son was unharmed, what had he done? The blood on him indicated that something serious had occurred. Watching Zhang Qiu lead Jiang Xue upstairs, Zhang Zhi Hua's heart could not settle; what exactly had his son been involved in? 0

Zhang Qiu took Jiang Xue up the stairs when suddenly Zhang Zhi Hua shouted from downstairs, "Clean towels are in the left cabinet of the storage room." 0

Zhang Qiu responded and led Jiang Xue directly to the bathroom on the second floor. He smiled at her and said, "The hotel isn't safe; let's just shower at my place. I'll go get you a towel." 0

Jiang Xue nodded with a blush and stepped into the bathroom. Zhang Qiu went to the storage room to grab a towel and gently knocked on the bathroom door, saying, "Have you taken off your clothes? Open a crack so I can hand you the towel." 0

The bathroom door slowly opened a crack, steam mixed with fragrance wafting out. A smooth hand reached out from inside to take the towel from Zhang Qiu. Just as he was about to turn away, he suddenly felt his hand being grabbed. The bathroom door swung open completely, revealing Jiang Xue's beautiful figure before him. 0

Qiu Wan was stunned by this unexpected sight, frozen in place and unsure of what to do, though her eyes were honestly fixed on Jiang Xue. The warm steam enveloped them both, highlighting Jiang Xue's fair skin and curves in an alluring way… she was simply breathtaking! 0

"Come in; it's cold!" Jiang Xue playfully complained. 0

Zhang Qiu remained dazed for a moment before blurting out, "You went to the hotel not just to take a shower?" 0

Jiang Xue pouted in exasperation and poked him lightly on the head with her finger, saying, "You're so silly! Are you coming in or not? If not, I'm closing the door." 0

"I'm coming in," Zhang Qiu replied hastily. Without changing into slippers, he kicked off his shoes and socks and stepped barefoot into the bathroom, closing the door behind him. 0

In the not-so-spacious bathroom, Zhang Qiu and Jiang Xue stood facing each other. The shower had been turned off, but steam still lingered in the air, adding an ambiguous atmosphere. 0

Jiang Xue said softly, "Take off your clothes; you're covered in blood." 0

"Okay." Zhang Qiu slowly removed his shirt, revealing his toned muscles. Inadvertently, he pulled at a wound on his left arm; he wanted to cry out but held back for fear of worrying Jiang Xue. However, she noticed something odd in his expression and asked, "Does your wound hurt?" 0

Zhang Qiu smiled and shook his head, "It doesn't hurt." 0

"You're lying." Jiang Xue said, blushing as she helped Zhang Qiu take off his clothes. Her delicate hands grasped the waistband of Zhang Qiu's pants, turning her head to pull them down. Zhang Qiu cooperated by lifting his leg, his face also flushed with embarrassment. 0

After helping Zhang Qiu out of his clothes, Jiang Xue quickly stood up and tightly embraced him. Zhang Qiu held Jiang Xue in his arms. The skin-to-skin contact created a wonderful feeling that was entirely new. 0

"Do you like me?" Jiang Xue asked, blinking at Zhang Qiu. 0

"I like you." 0

"Then what about Wang Jinghan?" 0

Zhang Qiu opened his mouth but was momentarily speechless. He recalled the dream he had by the river; the person he kissed—was it Wang Jinghan or Jiang Xue? 0

"As long as you like me, that's enough." Jiang Xue smiled and stood on her tiptoes to kiss Zhang Qiu's lips. 0

It was Jiang Xue! In the dream, it felt just like this—so familiar. Zhang Qiu wrapped his arms around Jiang Xue's slender waist and leaned down to kiss her, their agile tongues intertwining. Outside, a sudden clap of thunder echoed as rain began to pour. Inside, it was warm as spring, and the two were completely oblivious to the torrential downpour outside. 0
