Chapter One Hundred Forty-Nine Moving House
Zhang Qiu was taken aback by the situation, but he quickly regained his composure. Looking at the sea of people in front of him, Zhang Qiu felt a surge of emotions and asked, "Is everyone doing okay?"
"Yes, Brother Qiu."
"Brother Qiu, I'm fine."
"Brother Qiu, it's great."
Zhang Qiu pulled one of his students, who was closest to him, over and noticed the bandaged head. He asked, "What’s your name?"
"Brother Qiu, my name is Ma Yuan." The student with the bandaged head smiled innocently, revealing a row of white teeth. Zhang Qiu noticed that Ma Yuan was also wearing glasses and appeared somewhat frail. He turned to Wang Zhengxiang and said, "Make sure to register everyone's names."
"Don't worry, Brother Qiu," Wang Zhengxiang replied from the side.
"What are you all doing crowding here? Are you staging a rebellion?"
Director Zhao's authoritative voice suddenly echoed through the hallway, causing the crowd to scatter like birds and beasts. In just a few seconds, the previously bustling hallway became so quiet that one could hear a pin drop.
Director Zhao walked to the classroom door and looked at Zhang Qiu. "Zhang Qiu, you aren't listening to me, are you?"
Zhang Qiu hurriedly explained to Director Zhao, "Director, I'm doing this according to your instructions."
Director Zhao raised an eyebrow and asked, "My instructions? Did I tell you to gather people in the hallway to cause trouble?"
"Ah, this is not causing trouble," Zhang Qiu said with a cheerful smile, appearing harmless. "Director Zhao, you specifically told me not to cause any issues, and I was just reminding them. Now that you're here, everyone has run away, and I haven't finished speaking yet." Zhang Qiu spread his hands in helplessness.
"Hey, are you blaming me for this?" Director Zhao complained, suddenly realizing something. His expression tightened as he stared at Zhang Qiu and pointed at the empty hallway, asking, "Are you saying that all those people were listening to you just now?"
Zhang Qiu silently cursed himself for letting it slip and revealing his capabilities in front of the director. However, he wasn't too worried and calmly answered Director Zhao's question: "Director, they respect me and are willing to listen. But don't worry, with the college entrance exams coming up, I won't cause any trouble."
Director Zhao stared at Zhang Qiu for a while before saying, "Zhang Qiu, there's a saying about playing with fire; you'd better be careful." After saying this, Director Zhao turned and left.
Gao Zhi, Zhao Pingchuan, and Wang Zhengxiang looked at Zhang Qiu eagerly and asked, "Brother Qiu, what should we do next?"
"We should continue with what we need to do. Let's split up; each of us will go check on the people we called in. Remember to keep track of the injured ones, and anyone who wants to join us should be registered on the list. As the leader, I still don’t even know how many people I have under me; you can't leave me in the dark."
Qiu Wan laughed as they followed Zhang Qiu's instructions and went to check on their respective classes.
When school ended at noon, as soon as Zhang Qiu stepped out of the teaching building, a group of students rushed over. Zhang Qiu quickly asked, "What are you all doing here?"
A tall and thin student wearing a school uniform stepped forward and said loudly, "Boss, we're waiting for you to leave school together."
"Yeah, Boss, let's go together," the others chimed in.
Zhang Qiu roughly counted and saw there were more than ten people. The Taolengman sisters were also squeezed in among the crowd. When Taolengman noticed him looking at her, she winked back. Seeing this scene made Zhang Qiu smile and say, "I appreciate your intentions; I understand how you feel. But class breaks are short as it is. Just listen to me; go eat your meals properly. After eating, take some time to rest. I'm used to being independent; no one needs to follow me."
As Qiu Wan and others gradually dispersed in different directions, the Taolengman sisters remained standing there. Zhang Qiu walked over and asked them, "Are you two day students or boarders?"
The younger sister drooped her head, and the older sister said, "As a student, my home is just across from our school in Cloud Sea District, very close."
"Then let's go home quickly." Qiu Wan also wanted to leave. Taolengman pulled her sister and ran a couple of steps to catch up with Zhang Qiu, leaning in to say, "Brother Qiu, let's go out together."
"Sure." Zhang Qiu nodded with a smile and chatted a bit more about Taolengman and her sister. Zhang Qiu sighed, "You two really don't look like sisters; one looks like a rose, and the other like a sensitive plant."
Taolengman looked at her sister affectionately, laughing happily, "People always say that we don't look like sisters. Only we know how much we can't live without each other."
Zhang Qiu noticed that at Taolengman's words, Tao Ya, who was following her sister with her head down, also slightly smiled.
At the school gate, Zhang Qiu waved goodbye to the Taolengman sisters. When she returned home, Zhang Qiu saw an unfamiliar van parked at the entrance. Are guests here? Just as Zhang Qiu was about to open the door, her phone buzzed and vibrated. She took it out and thought to herself that it was bad news, hurriedly pressing to answer.
"Zhang Qiu, tell me when you get home. Come play with me; hum, you've probably forgotten about me already."
"Sis, I'm sorry. So much has happened that I forgot." Zhang Qiu could hear Liu Fangfei's dissatisfaction. He knew he was in the wrong; although everything was fine before, he had indeed forgotten due to being busy and could only comfort her with kind words.
"Hmph, I’m not blaming you. I just wanted to check on you since you didn’t contact me. From what you said, did something happen again?"
Zhang Qiu recounted what had happened recently since returning home. Liu Fangfei sighed, "So that's how it is." She hadn't actually blamed Zhang Qiu; knowing he had encountered such difficulties made her genuinely worried for him. She comforted him, saying, "Sister knows you're upset, but no matter how tough it gets, you have to hold on; Jiang Xue needs you."
"I know, sis. I understand."
"Then take care of yourself. If anything happens, just reach out to me, okay? Be good." Liu Fangfei said gently.
"Okay."
After hanging up the phone, Zhang Qiu pushed the door and entered the yard, just in time to see several people moving a cabinet from the living room to the yard.
"What are you doing!" Zhang Qiu shouted. This was outrageous; the demolition team had barged in and started moving things without permission!
The movers all stopped what they were doing and looked at Zhang Qiu.
"It's fine, it's fine, you all continue moving."
A voice called out from inside the house; Zhang Qiu recognized it as his uncle's. He quickly walked over and saw his uncle standing with his father. He Jun smiled when he saw Zhang Qiu and said, "Your dad has trouble with his leg, so I brought a few friends to help with the move."
"Oh, I see." Zhang Qiu felt relieved. He stepped aside to let the movers pass and entered the living room to ask, "You're moving so soon?"
Zhang Zhi Hua was sitting on the sofa and replied, "The contract is signed, so we might as well move."
"Dad, where are we moving to?" Zhang Qiu knew that this was the only house his family had. His father had difficulty walking, and his mother was busy with work, leaving no time to find a new place or even know where they could go.
