You Were Born a Nobleman, Chapter Sixty-One: Who Are You, Xuan Xuan? 0

Tang Zisu stared at the bead in Kong Xuan's hand. Could this be the legendary Night Pearl that combines illumination, wealth, beauty, and showiness? 0

Kong Xuan seemed to sense her thoughts. "Do you like it? After using it, I'll give it to you. Shu Que Wu Pan." 0

"Cough, um, cough, well... if you think it's unsafe to carry it with you, I can keep it for you." 0

See, I'm not greedy at all; I'm just thinking of you! 0

"Tang Zisu, hold my hand tightly once we enter the cave. No matter what happens, you must not leave my side." 0

Tang Zisu nodded and then added, "Xuan Xuan, who exactly are you?" 0

Kong Xuan was taken aback, nearly dropping the Night Pearl from her palm. Just as she was about to come up with an excuse, she heard Tang Zisu say, "Could it be that you are truly a Divine Maiden sent by heaven to help us? You seem to be capable of anything!" 0

Little Foolish Pig, could you be any more foolish? But somehow, I seem to like your foolishness more and more. 0

The group followed Lang Ye into the cave. There was nothing particularly special about the cave except for a strong stench of decay that was nauseating. 0

"This cave should be where Decayed Corpses are buried. Everyone be careful." Before Kong Xuan could finish speaking, Softy suddenly shouted, "Get away! I can't help you; don't come near me!" 0

Jumping hurriedly hugged Softy: “Softy, what’s wrong?” 0

“There are so many ghosts, they look terrifying, and they want me to take them out.” 0

Little Fish looked around and exclaimed: “What kind of person set up a soul-locking formation in such a cave to trap the ghosts inside, preventing them from Reincarnation?” 0

Kong Xuan asked, “Little Fish, you actually understand the art of Qi Men?” 0

“Yeah, a Taoist priest once passed a book to me, and it contained these things.” 0

As everyone was talking, the light of Night Pearl grew fainter, and a thick blood mist suddenly surged up, blurring the figures in front of them until nothing could be seen. 0

Tang Zisu was trapped in the blood mist, feeling fear, loneliness, and despair; various emotions surged within her. 0

“Xuan Xuan, Kong Xuan.” Tang Zisu desperately clutched Kong Xuan’s hand while using her other hand to search for Kong Xuan’s face. 0

The hand she held suddenly became sticky and damp, twisting continuously. The rough scales rubbed against her palm, making a hissing sound. Tang Zisu looked down and saw a snake with a red core staring at her with malicious eyes; she screamed and flung the snake away. 0

“Kong Xuan, Softy, where are you?” Tang Zisu was very scared; whether it was male or female, the sight of that snake in her hand would make anyone wet their pants. 0

In the blood mist, ghostly flames flickered as decayed and broken Vengeful Spirits surrounded Tang Zisu. Their hollow eye sockets stared at her as they reached out with bony hands covered in rotting flesh. 0

“Kong Xuan, save me.” Tang Zisu shouted, cold sweat rolling down her forehead. The scene felt like a live horror movie; even Sadako from Divine Horse seemed weak in comparison. Without Kong Xuan, without Softy, Tang Zisu could only watch helplessly as those disgusting hands reached toward her body. 0

Suddenly, a burst of golden light erupted from Tang Zisu's body, as if a solid wall had formed to block the Evil Spirit's hand, causing the ghostly claws that touched the golden light to dissipate into a wisp of blue smoke. 0

Tang Zisu gasped for breath, unable to care about the astonishment of having a built-in golden armor feature. 0

The Evil Spirit could not approach, and its mournful, piercing chant echoed like a curse. The combined sounds pierced through Tang Zisu's mind like a sharp blade. 0

For some reason, Tang Zisu suddenly felt an overwhelming sorrow, a despair akin to the feeling of hopelessness when one’s heart turns to ashes. It was the kind of despair experienced at ten years old when her parents died in a car accident, and again at seventeen when her grandmother passed away, leaving her feeling utterly alone and wishing she could follow them in death. 0

Tang Zisu drew a bamboo arrow from her quiver and pressed it against her throat. 0
