Looking at Gu Da's attitude and address, it was clear that this person was undoubtedly the renowned Flying Dragon General.
The Flying Dragon General nodded, remaining silent for a long while before finally speaking up, "Is she doing well?"
Gu Da replied, "Yes, General. There's no need to worry; I've already sent people to protect her."
"That's good to hear." After saying this, the Flying Dragon General fell silent again, seeming not to enjoy talking much.

It was unclear which of his words struck a chord with the Flying Dragon General, but the General's body trembled slightly.
Realizing he had overstepped in his urgency, Gu Da noticed the change in the General and understood he had touched upon a sensitive issue.
The Flying Dragon General remained silent for a moment before sighing deeply, "I am not a competent general; I apologize to all my brothers. Now that I find myself in this fallen state, I still trouble you all to run around for me."
Gu Da hurriedly said, "It was my moment of desperation that led me to speak such rebellious words. Please punish me, General!"
"This is not your fault; it is my own..." The Flying Dragon General placed a hand on Gu Da's shoulder. "You've been busy all day; you must be tired. Go back and rest. They will come soon, and there is still much work to do."
Gu Da dared not contradict him any further and could only accept, "You should also get some rest, General. You haven't slept well these past few days. As our leader, you need to take care of yourself too."
"I know. I'll go shortly; you head back first."
The general's words were casual, but both of them knew that he would not sleep tonight.
Gu Daxian left, and the Flying Dragon General gazed at the lush grapevines.
The night was hazy, and it was unclear what he truly saw.
After a long while, he murmured something softly, his voice too faint to be heard clearly.
A gust of night wind swept by, carrying away the inaudible sigh into the darkness, as if nothing had ever happened.
Silence returned to the surroundings.
Gu Da left the Flying Dragon General's residence, initially intending to follow the general's orders and return to his own quarters to rest. He planned to wait for a group of dispatched personnel to return before taking over their duties.
However, upon returning home, he tossed and turned in bed for a long time, unable to fall asleep. His mind was filled with worries that weighed heavily on him. He decided not to force himself any longer, threw on some clothes, and sat up, looking out at the colors of the night.
As dawn began to break, Gu Da got up, quickly tidied himself, and headed out to the Li residence.
The Li family had recently encountered troubles. Aside from two children who were still oblivious and sleeping soundly side by side with their heads resting against each other, Li Yi and Li Yang were already awake early in the morning.
"Brother Gu, you’re here so early," Li Yang exclaimed upon seeing Gu Da. His first thought was of Ye Xiaohan. "Do you have a way to save my sister-in-law?"
Gu Da held back the overly eager Li Yang, who was wagging his tail like a dog. "Don’t get too excited. Rest assured, since the general has already promised this matter, your sister-in-law will be fine."
Li Yang admired Gu Da greatly. Hearing this reassured him immediately; he smiled sheepishly and said, "Brother Gu, don’t laugh at me. I’m just anxious. With my brother away, I need to help take care of my sister-in-law."
His words seemed to touch Gu Da. For the first time in a while, Gu Da reached out and gently ruffled Li Yang's hair.
Just as Ye Xiaohan sensed, Gu Da often disguised himself in various identities due to certain needs, blending into the crowd.
This time, his outward identity was that of a common merchant, mingling with people and calling them brothers. However, Gu Da had always sensed that he was not truly willing to get too close to others. Often, it was Liu Yang who eagerly sought out Gu Da; while Gu Da would not neglect him, he had never genuinely opened up to him.
Between him and others, there seemed to be an almost imperceptible barrier—subtle enough to be overlooked, yet undeniably present.
So when he was patted on the head this time, Liu Yang felt a bit flattered and looked up in surprise.
Gu Da maintained a calm demeanor as he withdrew his hand and redirected Liu Yang's attention. "Last night, we sent someone to investigate the leads. The General has already come up with a plan to rescue your sister-in-law."
"Really?" Liu Yang was immediately drawn in by this good news. "The General really thought of a way! As expected of the Great General, his mind works so quickly to come up with a solution in such a short time!"
Liu Yang bowed to Gu Da. "Thank you for saving my life, General. The Liu family will always remember this and repay you in the future! And thank you, Brother Gu, for your help. Without you, I truly wouldn’t know what to do this time."
Gu Da helped him up. "Alright, no need for such formalities. Get up."
"Okay!" Liu Yang quickly stood up and then thought of Liu Bei. He asked, "Brother Gu, since your General is so capable, does he know my elder brother's whereabouts? He mentioned before that he was safe, but I haven't heard anything since. Could you ask the General to help find him as well?"
Gu Da smiled. "What’s the big deal? You don’t need to be so serious about it. I actually came to tell you about your brother's situation. The General has already found Liu Bei, but there are some matters that require his attention first, so he can't return for now. The General has sent someone to accompany him, and once those matters are settled, you'll be able to see him."
Liu Yang felt a bit regretful that Liu Bei couldn't return yet; however, knowing that his brother was safe put him at ease. "That's good to hear. Thank you, Brother Gu. Until my brother comes back, I’ll take care of things here at the Liu family. If you can get in touch with him, please let him know not to worry about home!"
As for how the Flying Dragon General found his brother or why Liu Bei suddenly decided to help the General with something—Liu Yang didn’t voice these questions.
There were too many matters at hand, and many details couldn’t be delved into at the moment. Moreover, Liu Yang felt that even if he asked, he wouldn’t receive an honest answer.
He didn’t think Gu Da was lying; he just felt that Gu Da wouldn’t give a serious response but would brush it off instead.
Once his brother returned and his sister-in-law was rescued, he would investigate these matters himself! Liu Yang felt like he was being treated like a child—kept in the dark about everything and not allowed to participate.
Seeing the flicker of determination in Liu Yang's eyes, Gu Da could probably guess what he was thinking. He wasn’t sure whether to commend his bravery or chide him for being naive.
Yang had made up his mind. He set aside the safely confirmed Bei and turned his attention back to the urgently needed rescue of Ye Xiaohan.
"Brother Gu, has the general thought of a way to rescue my Sister-in-law?" Yang asked, eagerly hoping to contribute in any way he could.
Gu Da explained the results of their analysis to Yang. What they needed now was evidence that Ye Xiaohan had been framed.
"The Liu family has no background, no power, and a very simple origin. Investigating them won't be difficult. Moreover, these two are greedy and have done things that have drawn criticism, making them easy to control. The challenge lies with their instigator, Liu Yuan."
At the mention of Liu Yuan, Gu Da frowned. "Initially, we thought Liu Yuan was just the son of a county governor, nothing special—just someone causing trouble within Liu Yun's jurisdiction. However, after our investigation, it seems things are not that simple."
Yang furrowed his brow like Gu Da. "Are you saying that this bastard Liu Yuan, besides relying on his father's power to oppress us, has another identity behind the scenes that's even higher than his father's position as Governor?"
"Exactly," Gu Da thought Yang was quite clever for his age. Seeing him grasp the situation so quickly only reinforced Gu Da's belief that he was a promising talent.
"Liu Yuan's hidden identity is very complex, and our forces have not been able to uncover it quickly, which is somewhat unexpected."
Gu Da did not hide this fact from Yang. Although it felt like a slap in the face to be outmaneuvered by someone like Liu Yuan, facing difficulties head-on was their nature.
Acknowledging mistakes and finding ways to improve was the only way forward.
Yang rolled his eyes thoughtfully and said, "Since we can't find a flaw with that bastard Liu Yuan for now, why don't we change direction and start with my aunt—no, with the Liu couple!"
