The meaning behind Gu Rong's words was clear; the maid Liu Susu encountered by the Rockery was not a coincidence. Gu Rong had specifically sent someone to wait there, all to lure Liu Susu into trouble with Ye Xiaohan.

"Thank you, young master. I'll take my leave then." The servant finished speaking, remembered to bow, and quickly disappeared into the back garden.
Gu Rong stood alone for a long time, gazing at the scattered flowers and withered grass, a fierce expression growing in his eyes.
After a while, seemingly satisfied, he clasped his hands behind his back and strolled away with a sense of pleasure. With Liu Susu, this brainless fool, acting as the vanguard, he had saved himself a lot of trouble—she was truly an excellent choice.

The servant knocked on the door, and Liu Yang came out. Upon seeing her, he immediately slammed the door shut with a loud bang.
"Sister-in-law, that woman is back again!" Liu Yang exclaimed as he ran off to inform Ye Xiaohan.
He couldn't help but complain about his elder brother in his heart. How could he not have dealt with this matter yet? The last time that woman showed up, his sister-in-law had openly pretended not to care while secretly feeling quite jealous, something he had clearly noticed.
Now she was coming again, and all Liu Yang could do was pray for his brother's well-being.
Ye Xiaohan was currently accompanying Bai Rong'er during her rehabilitation. Recently, Bai Rong'er's condition had improved significantly, and she was no longer overly frightened by the Liu family’s presence; she could even spend some time with Liu Qi occasionally.
This was a positive development, and Ye Xiaohan was pleased. She encouraged Liu Qi to visit Bai Rong'er more often so that she could have more exposure to the outside world.

Seeing Liu Yang rush in in a panic, Ye Xiaohan quickly waved at him to signal him to stop while saying, "Shh, keep it down! Don't scare her!"
It had taken a lot for things to improve; if Bai Rong'er got frightened again, Liu Yang would surely face her wrath.
"Oh, okay!" Liu Yang slowed down and glanced at Bai Rong'er. He noticed the wariness in her eyes and felt a pang of disappointment. "Why is White Maiden so wary of me? She can tolerate that brat Qi."
Ye Xiaohan looked at him with amusement. "How old are you? Always comparing yourself to a child—aren't you embarrassed?"
"I'm not! It's not because of Qi. Sigh, forget it; I'm done talking to you." Liu Yang changed the subject and pointed towards the gate. "Sister-in-law, that woman is back! Shouldn't I go chase her away? This is getting endless."
Ye Xiaohan shot a glare at Gu Bei in her mind and said, "No need for that; I'll go myself. I want to see what she thinks she can do against me."
She instructed him, "You stay here and keep an eye on things. Make sure Bai Rong'er isn't scared, and tell Qi not to be too rowdy."
Yang agreed, "I will. Sister-in-law, take care. That woman seems very ostentatious; I fear she comes with ill intentions."
"Ill intentions?" Ye Xiaohan laughed as if she had heard a funny joke. "Who are you talking about? Our family is set up to be the kind of good people who only get bullied."
Neither side was easy to deal with; it was just a matter of who could endure longer!
Ye Xiaohan opened the courtyard door and stepped outside, closing it behind her. There were still patients at home; she couldn't let these people in to disturb them.
"This lady, it's been just a few days since we last met. What brings you here personally?"
Ye Xiaohan faced a large group of people alone. Although outnumbered, her presence was strong enough to stand against them without showing any signs of fear.
"Naturally, I have important matters to discuss that require me to step into this shabby place!" Liu Susu straightened her luxurious attire, her gold hairpin inlaid with rubies swaying gently with her movements, looking dignified and elegant.
Watching the swaying hairpin, which seemed unable to settle down and kept trembling, Ye Xiaohan felt a bit irritated. What did Gu Bei see in this woman? Her outfit could buy a whole house!
She gestured for Liu Susu to continue, smiling politely.

Only those who had fallen on hard times or were in dire straits would pawn their belongings. Especially women's clothing and accessories; unless life was truly unbearable, their pride and vanity as nobles would never allow them to do such a thing.
Ye Xiaohan was clearly cursing her! Cursing her family to fall into ruin, cursing her to live in poverty! The anger that Liu Susu had been suppressing in her heart could no longer be contained.
"Only a lowly woman like you would envy others for living well and wish ill upon those better than you!" Liu Susu mocked. "By doing this, you only reveal your small-mindedness and lack of grace!"
Ye Xiaohan nodded in agreement, "Yes, that's exactly how I am."

Her punch landed on soft cotton, causing no harm to the other party and leaving her unable to regain her composure, looking utterly ridiculous.
Liu Susu's attack missed its mark. She had originally intended to belittle Ye Xiaohan based on her background, but was taken aback when Ye Xiaohan admitted it without hesitation, showing no shame at all. Truly a shameless woman!
Fuming, she exclaimed, "Do you know who I am? I am the daughter of the Prime Minister! Unlike someone as lowly as you! How dare you confront me like this? Don't you fear that I will have someone beat you up right now?"
Ye Xiaohan replied with feigned surprise, "So you're the daughter of the Prime Minister. No wonder you carry yourself with a bit more nobility than others! But I wonder how much leniency your noble status will afford you when your family servants commit violence under our laws?"
If this woman was foolish enough to think that the law meant nothing in front of her, then she herself would be nothing in the eyes of the discerning.
The daughter of the Prime Minister publicly belittling the law could lead to serious consequences if heard by others.
Most importantly, if this reached the Emperor's ears, it would sow seeds of doubt.
