Yan Boss's attitude towards Ye Xiaohan was firm; it seemed that the shop was no longer negotiable. Following the plan he had discussed with Liu Susu, he decided that if he couldn't obtain the shop smoothly, he would simply destroy it.
If he couldn't have something, he didn't want to see anyone else get it either.
"Ye Boss, you really don't know what's good for you!" Yan Boss said smugly. "Since you refuse to return the shop to me, don't blame me for being ruthless! If I can't have this shop, then be prepared for it to be shut down!"
The thugs received their orders and rolled up their sleeves, rushing in to clear away the onlookers. They stormed into the restaurant, starting to smash tables and chairs, throwing dishes everywhere, and splattering soup all over the place.
Seeing the thugs take action, the crowd scattered in fear. A few who wanted to help were pulled back by their companions and dragged away.
These thugs were just looking for trouble; getting involved with them was asking for trouble.
They had come prepared, rounding up all the staff inside and keeping them together so they couldn't intervene. The first to be pinned against the wall was Liu Yang, who had been resisting fiercely.
Yan Boss said triumphantly, "Ye Boss, do you think we're fools? You still want to sneak off and report us to the authorities? You think I'll let you succeed?"
"What's there to sneak about when I'm reporting someone for assaulting people in public and vandalizing a shop?" Ye Xiaohan felt a bit flustered inside but made sure not to show any signs of weakness on the outside.
If she revealed any fear here, it would only make things worse.
These people were utterly shameless; reasoning with them was futile. Even if she softened her tone or spoke nicely, they wouldn't let her off easily.
Moreover, she would never bow down to such people. She hadn't done anything wrong; why should she let herself be bullied by scoundrels?
"You lawless scoundrels! Do you really think you can act recklessly under my feet?" Liu Yang struggled against the thug pinning him against the wall, his face contorted as he fought back.
Hearing Liu Yang's words, the thug laughed even more brazenly. "Lawless? Let me tell you, I am the law! Since you've messed with us today, don't expect to live peacefully in the future!"
"You really underestimate the Yamen," Ye Xiaohan tried to rush in to stop them but was blocked. "In broad daylight, do you really think you can get away with this? Let go of him now!"
This time there were quite a few troublemakers; all the staff in the restaurant were controlled, making it impossible to report to the authorities. Ye Xiaohan felt anxious; at this rate, the restaurant would truly be destroyed.
Without the need for renovations, the process would take a long time once they were required. With so many restaurants in the capital, if they fell behind, everyone would forget about them in a month and a half, finding new places to replace them.
All the effort spent on the restaurant could easily go up in smoke.
Boss Yan deliberately swaggered over to Ye Xiaohan, speaking in a sarcastic tone, "Ye Boss, it's not too late now. If you loosen your grip, I won't make it difficult for you. Just return the land deed, and I'll take my people and leave, never to disturb you again."
"Don't think you can take advantage of me!" Ye Xiaohan was not swayed by his words. "This restaurant is my legitimate property; why should I give it to you? Stop dreaming!"
Rejected outright, Boss Yan's expression changed faster than flipping a page in a book, shifting from a smile to anger. "I was kind enough to give you a chance. If you want to seek your own demise, I'll help you!"
He shouted at the thugs, "Smash everything! Leave not a single piece intact! Tear down the walls and rip up the floors!"
Initially wanting to keep the restaurant for himself, he had now decided to go all out! Worst case scenario, he could abandon the restaurant; given the current market conditions, just selling the land deed would fetch a good price.
As long as he used the restaurant as bait and collaborated with the thugs, pretending to sell it while snatching back the deed, it would be pure profit. Soon enough, he would be rolling in money.
Liu Susu's hatred for Ye Xiaohan made her willing to spend money on dealing with her. The thugs she hired this time were far worse than before and outnumbered them significantly.
In an instant, the restaurant turned into a scene of devastation, showing no signs of its previous bustling business.
Tables and chairs lay scattered everywhere; decorations on the walls were torn down and trampled into chaos.
After smashing everything inside the restaurant, the thugs began searching for tools to break down walls and floors.
Ye Xiaohan was genuinely anxious now; at this rate, she would have to watch her restaurant being demolished right before her eyes!
But with so many opponents present and half of her side consisting of weak women—despite their hard work giving them more strength than average women—hoping they could stand against strong men was simply unrealistic.
She had thought that being in her own restaurant would ensure safety; she hadn't even brought along any of her usual medicinal powders.
Moreover, even if she had brought them and managed to take down some of these men, ensuring temporary safety would lead to significant negative repercussions for the restaurant afterward.
Who would be willing to dine in a restaurant that could spill poison at any moment? It's not like they want to shorten their lives!
Ye Xiaohan was both anxious and angry. These rascals, taking advantage of their shamelessness, could do anything.
"Stop it! Everyone, stop! No more smashing things!"
She shouted at the thugs, but all she received in return was loud laughter and even more vigorous destruction.
Boss Yan glanced sideways, watching Ye Xiaohan's futile shouting with a smug laugh. "What’s wrong? Are you feeling sorry now? This is just the beginning; the real show is yet to come!"
"Oh? I wonder what kind of show it is. I quite enjoy a good performance. If it's done well, I might reward you."
A prolonged voice came from behind them, taking over the conversation.
Ye Xiaohan and Boss Yan turned simultaneously to look, realizing they hadn’t noticed someone had arrived during their argument.
Dressed in splendid attire and completely unblemished, he was tossing candied fruits into his mouth one by one, followed by a large entourage.
"Third Prince!" Ye Xiaohan and Boss Yan exclaimed in unison.
However, their reactions were different—one filled with surprise and the other with fear.
Murong Jing tilted his head, surveying the wrecked restaurant with displeasure. "I happened to pass by here, hungry and intending to dine at your establishment. It seems I’ve come at an inopportune time."
"It’s the perfect time! The perfect time!" Ye Xiaohan had never been so eager for Murong Jing's help. "Third Prince, could you help me capture these people? No, wait! Just send someone to report this to the authorities!"
I can even cook you a pot of rice afterward! No charge! Ye Xiaohan looked at Murong Jing earnestly, her eyes sparkling.
At this moment, the only one who could help was the Third Prince.
As long as someone from the Government Office arrives, they could take these thugs away. Even if they didn’t arrest them, at least they could drive them off. That way, her restaurant would be temporarily safe.
Murong Jing looked at Ye Xiaohan with confusion and said, "Ye Boss, what happened to your eyes? If you're not feeling well, I can introduce a physician to you."
"Thank you, but please let Yamen fix my restaurant first!" Ye Xiaohan was extremely anxious, yet the Third Prince remained indifferent.
Ye Xiaohan was genuinely worried that he might suddenly say something like, "Ah, there's no food here; I'll just go to another place," and then turn around and leave.
That would truly leave her in tears.
Fortunately, Murong Jing did not disappoint Ye Xiaohan this time. He casually waved his hand behind him and ordered, "Capture all the troublemakers and throw them to Yamen for handling."
"Yes, Your Highness!"
The guards behind him quickly sprang into action. Although they were outnumbered by the thugs, they were all skilled fighters, capable of taking on ten men each.
Moreover, no thug would dare to defy the Third Prince's subordinates.
As soon as the Third Prince appeared, Boss Yan was so frightened that he froze in place, not daring to move.
As the saying goes, evil people have their match in evil people.
How could a lowly thug who only knew how to bully honest folks compare to a tyrant like the Third Prince, who dominated the entire imperial city?
