Liu Susu felt a sense of secret satisfaction upon hearing the hatred in Shangyang Princess's voice.
"Those who anger our princess deserve to be taught a lesson!"
Liu Susu initially agreed, but quickly shifted her tone. "However, this Ye Xiaohan is not easy to deal with. That woman may not excel in much, but she has a knack for twisting the truth. If the princess truly punishes her, who knows how she might slander you in front of General Gu!"
"She dares!" Shangyang Princess exclaimed angrily. "With her arrogant demeanor, she should have been thrown into prison several times by now. I’m just not holding it against her, yet she still dares to scheme against me behind my back!"
Liu Susu lowered her voice, feigning mystery. "The princess is naive and hasn't seen the wickedness of the world! The people outside cannot be compared to those in the palace. They would do anything for a few coins!"
Her certainty made it seem as if she knew much more than she let on, piquing Shangyang Princess's curiosity.
"Sister Liu, do you know?" Shangyang Princess leaned closer. "Please tell me, what terrible things has she done?"
These matters must be kept from General Gu; if he knew, it would surely reveal Ye Xiaohan's true nature!
Ye Xiaohan had no real dirt that Liu Susu could use against her; it was merely Liu Susu's own schemes that backfired on herself. But for Liu Susu, this was no challenge at all.
Fabricating a little lie was as easy as breathing for Liu Susu.
"I’m only telling you this because you’re the princess; I wouldn’t dare speak so freely to anyone else," Liu Susu seized on Shangyang Princess's curiosity while deliberately distancing herself from the situation.
Unbeknownst to Shangyang Princess, Liu Susu’s eyes occasionally sparkled with cunning; she believed this sister she had known was genuinely concerned for her.
Liu Susu twisted the events involving Ye Xiaohan, changing the identities of both the victim and the perpetrator to create a new crime.
"That's outrageous!"
Halfway through Liu Susu's tale, Shangyang Princess couldn't help but exclaim in anger. "I can’t believe this woman is so despicable and shameless! To prevent other women from approaching General Gu, she actually captures those who admire him and allows thugs to treat these poor girls like that!"
She recalled the terrifying experience of encountering thugs on the street, empathizing deeply with those 'victimized' girls, and her impression of Ye Xiaohan plummeted to an all-time low.
"I used to think that someone who could create such exquisite dishes wouldn't be a bad person!" The last shred of goodwill that Shangyang Princess had for Ye Xiaohan vanished. "It seems I truly have seen too little of the world and have been blinded by such a person!"
Liu Susu quickly interjected, "How can this be blamed on the princess's poor judgment? It's all because of Ye Xiaohan's deep scheming! Even General Gu is no match for her; she toys with him like a puppet!"
She shifted all the blame onto Ye Xiaohan, knowing that Shangyang Princess was already furious and could easily be manipulated with just a little provocation.
Sure enough, as soon as Shangyang Princess thought about how her hero had been deceived by such a despicable woman, anger surged within her.
"This cannot stand! I absolutely cannot sit idly by!" Shangyang Princess slammed her hand on the table. "General Gu has a lifetime of honor; it would be too tragic for it to be ruined by this woman!"
To protect General Gu, Shangyang Princess felt she had to take action!
Liu Susu asked, "Does the princess really want to help General Gu?"
"Of course!" Shangyang Princess replied without hesitation. "As long as it helps General Gu get rid of this wicked woman, I am willing to do anything!"
Liu Susu had been waiting for this statement, but she couldn't appear too eager to avoid raising suspicion.
"There are indeed ways to handle this," Liu Susu said halfway through, feigning a troubled expression. "It's just... it's not easy!"
Shangyang Princess suddenly looked up, surprised. "Sister Liu, do you have a plan? Quickly, tell me! What is there that I cannot accomplish?"
"Your heartfelt intentions toward General Gu are truly touching," Liu Susu pretended to deliberate heavily. "Alright then, for the princess and for General Gu, I will dare to take action."
Liu Susu's plan was to have Shangyang Princess send someone to capture Ye Xiaohan and confine her in a secluded place. Then, they would send people to intimidate her so that she would be too frightened to approach Gu Bei again.
"This..." Princess Shangyang hesitated for a moment. "Isn't this a bit inappropriate? What's the difference between this and what that woman did? I don't want to be compared to a despicable woman!"
Liu Susu replied, "Your Highness, you are too kind. While you are thinking of her, did she ever consider those innocent girls when she was ruining their lives?"
"But I still feel..." Princess Shangyang thought this approach was somewhat wrong, yet Liu Susu's reasoning was not without merit. Since Ye Xiaohan had previously committed such heinous acts and was now facing the consequences, it was indeed her own doing!
Seeing that Princess Shangyang was wavering, Liu Susu secretly smiled and further persuaded her, "Besides, what we are doing is far less than what she has done. We are only trying to scare her a little; we won't actually do anything to her."
Of course, this was just to deceive the princess. When the time came, as long as they could distract her, Ye Xiaohan would fall right into Liu Susu's hands!
Even if the truth came out later and someone got caught, it would have nothing to do with Princess Shangyang. Even if it were discovered that she had instigated it, Liu Susu could always claim she was just trying to comfort Princess Shangyang.

Just as they finished planning, footsteps were heard outside.
"Princess, the Empress has sent Madam Gu to deliver some pastries."
At that moment, a palace maid walked in from behind the beaded curtain, holding a tray of pastries and smiling brightly as she entered.
The Shangyang Princess suppressed some of her anger and glanced at the table. "Just leave them there."
Liu Susu stood up and said with a smile, "Sister Lan Feng has come; it’s such an honor for you to bring them personally. Liu Susu is truly flattered. I will thank the Empress later."
"Madam Gu is too kind. The Empress is tired today and will not be receiving guests, so there’s no need for you to trouble yourself. Just being here to keep the Princess company is already thoughtful."
The maid known as Lan Feng was a personal attendant to the Queen. Although her position was not high, anyone who could speak in front of the Queen commanded a certain level of respect.
Even Liu Susu, the daughter of the Prime Minister, would not dare to act arrogantly in front of her. If she inadvertently offended Lan Feng, it could easily lead to trouble if mentioned in front of the Queen.
