As Gu Bei rushed towards the house, Gu Rong had already grown impatient.
"What time is it?" Gu Rong frowned in displeasure and asked a subordinate beside him.
The subordinate quickly replied, "It's past the halfway mark of the You hour."
"Hmph!" Gu Rong snorted coldly, glancing at the bound 6 Qi.
He crouched down and mockingly said, "Do you see this? This is your so-called big brother! For the sake of his own future, for a bit of wealth and glory, he won't care about you at all! Your life means nothing compared to his military power!"
"You’re lying! Big brother is not that kind of person; he will definitely come to save me!" 6 Qi, having listened to Gu Rong's slander, felt a strong dislike for him. "You're a bad person for talking behind someone’s back! Only bad people do that!"

Gu Rong and 6 Qi locked eyes for a moment. Seeing her stubbornness and refusal to give up only fueled his irritation. With a swift motion, he raised his hand and struck her with a whip.
"Crack!"
The leather whip hit her with a sound that made one wince.
"Ugh!" The intense pain spread across 6 Qi's body, causing tears to fall like beads. Yet she clenched her teeth tightly and managed not to cry out too loudly.
Not seeing the scene of pleading he had imagined, Gu Rong's anger intensified: "You still dare to resist? Are you begging for mercy? Hurry up and beg!"
The whip cracked again and again against Liu Qi, quickly soaking her clothes with blood. The intense pain and her cries drained her of strength, leaving her drenched in cold sweat.
Gu Rong stopped, glaring angrily at the figure before him, Not Point. How could someone so weak refuse to obey him when he could crush them with a single hand?
He stared at Liu Qi, who was struggling to sit up but lacked the strength to do so, curled up on the ground. Suddenly, a smile appeared on her face.
Gu Rong lifted Liu Qi, allowing her to sit on the ground as he crouched down to meet her gaze.
“Look, Gu Bei isn’t coming. He’s that kind of person—grandstanding on the outside but rotten to the core!”
Gu Rong reached out and touched Liu Qi's face. “What gives someone like him the right to have you call him ‘big brother’? If you stay away from him and acknowledge me as your big brother instead, I can let you go and treat you better than Gu Bei ever did!”
He had no interest in siblings; he simply couldn’t stand that Gu Bei possessed something he did not.
Anything that belonged to Gu Bei, he would take for himself! He was superior to Gu Bei, and all of this should rightfully belong to him!
Liu Qi glared at Gu Rong. She was too young to fully understand what anger felt like; all she knew was that at this moment, she wanted nothing more than to bite this villain hard!
That was exactly what she thought—and what she did.
Liu Qi suddenly turned her head and bit down on Gu Rong’s hand, which was reaching toward her cheek, clamping down tightly and refusing to let go.
“Ugh!” Gu Rong was caught off guard by the seemingly defenseless girl biting him. He quickly tried to shake his hand free, but Liu Qi held on so tightly that her body swung along with his movements.
After forcefully shaking Liu Qi off, Gu Rong looked at his palm, where a clear bite mark had already begun to bleed.
"You're not my brother! You're a bad person! My big brother is a hundred times better than you!" Six shouted as she fell to the ground.
"You!" Gu Rong was taken aback; even a child dared to defy him, and he immediately lost his composure.
"Shut her up! Don't let anyone hear!" Gu Rong sneered. "Since you want to seek death, I'll grant your wish!"
By the time Gu Bei arrived at the residence, Ye Xiaohan and Six Yang were nearly frantic from searching for someone.
Seeing Gu Bei return, they felt a bit of relief and hurriedly informed him of what they knew.
"Missing in the residence?" Gu Bei sensed something ominous; this was clearly premeditated. Who would do such a thing, targeting a child?
Noticing how worried Ye Xiaohan and Six Yang were, Gu Bei refrained from voicing his thoughts and reassured them, "I've already sent people to look for her. As long as she's still in the capital, we'll have news soon."
Just as they spoke, Gu Da rushed in from outside, presenting a letter. "General, this was delivered today, specifically for you to open personally."
He paused for a moment, hesitating. "We checked it out; it was sent by the Second Young Master... We don't know if it's related to Six's disappearance."
Regardless of its relevance, Gu Daxian brought the letter over for Gu Bei to examine.
Upon hearing Gu Rong's name, Gu Bei's brow furrowed tightly. Whenever his brother appeared, it was never for anything good.
Ye Xiaohan and Six Yang were also startled. Ye Xiaohan snatched the letter from Gu Bei's hands and quickly unfolded it. Before she could finish reading, her face grew paler and paler; the light piece of paper felt as heavy as a thousand pounds in her hands, almost slipping away.
"She has been captured by him!" Ye Xiaohan's voice trembled with emotion, though she herself had not yet realized it.
It was just a kidnapping; Ye Xiaohan was not so easily shaken. The most important thing was that in the letter, Gu Rong had made a request for Gu Bei to meet him alone, with the time set for the hour of You.
However, Gu Bei had been busy in the military camp all day and had not seen the letter in time. The agreed-upon hour had already passed.

Gu Yang took off running, and Ye Xiaohan and Gu Bei quickly followed suit.
On a patch of grass, Six Seven lay there all alone.
Everyone was stunned, halting in their tracks. Six Yang's eyes were bloodshot, his chest heaving violently, too afraid to approach.
After a long moment, Six Yang finally took a heavy step forward, moving closer.
Six Seven was covered in blood and wounds, cold sweat soaking her head. The braid that Six Yang had helped her style earlier was now loose and disheveled.
Only her eyes remained wide open, but they had lost their luster, appearing dull and lifeless.
"Seven..." Six Yang couldn't hold himself together any longer and collapsed to his knees before Six Seven's lifeless body, trembling uncontrollably.
He reached out a shaking hand, and as soon as he touched her, the chill that belonged to the dead seeped into his very being.
Ye Xiaohan felt darkness closing in around him, the world spinning. Fortunately, Gu Bei caught him just in time, preventing him from falling.
"What’s going on?" Gu Bei had already seen the situation from a distance and realized the grim truth of Six Seven's death, but he couldn't accept it. He even asked his subordinates for an answer he already knew.
"General, she... can't be saved!" One of his men spoke with a mix of anger and sorrow.
They were accustomed to life and death, but witnessing a vibrant life extinguished before their eyes still filled them with profound grief.
