"Let me introduce myself. My name is Xianyu Hai. This name was given to me by my grandparents in memory of my uncle, who left home twenty years ago. My father is the head of the Xianyu Family." The boy introduced himself cheerfully.
Li Wei Feng looked at the boy, who was the same age he was when he left home, and couldn't help but sigh, "After being away for so long, the hometown accent remains unchanged, but the hair has turned gray. Children meet but do not recognize each other, laughingly asking where the guest has come from."
Hanno scoffed, "How pretentious! What gray hair are you talking about?"
Li Wei Feng chuckled, "If I were an ordinary person, I would indeed have gray hair by now."
Hanno retorted, "But you're not an ordinary person, so stop pretending to be melancholic."
Mainly because your sighs make me feel a bit uneasy too.
Li Wei Feng smiled good-naturedly.
Xianyu Hai scratched his head in confusion and asked, "What are you talking about? I don't understand at all. Also, you haven't told me your names yet!"
Hanno chuckled, "Kid, my companion's name is quite similar to yours."
Xianyu Hai's eyes filled with questions. "Similar? How so?"
"You are called Xianyu Hai, and my companion is named Xian Yu Yang," Hanno said with a grin, waiting for the reaction.
"Xian Yu Yang?" Xianyu Hai jumped up and pointed at Elder Brother Li. "You—you have the same name as my uncle!"
Li Wei Feng smiled slightly. "Hai, I am your uncle."
"Impossible! My uncle was the same age as me when he left. Now that twenty years have passed, he must be middle-aged. But you look like you're only five or six years older than me; how could you be my uncle?" Xianyu Hai denied vehemently and then glared fiercely at Li Wei Feng. "Why are you impersonating my uncle and playing such a cruel joke on me?"
Li Wei Feng sighed helplessly. "I'm not joking; I really am your uncle Xian Yu Yang."
"You’re lying!" Xianyu Hai jumped up, looking around for something to use as a weapon to teach this man a lesson. He spotted a stone as big as a grinding wheel in the corner and ran over to lift it. It seemed the boy had trained in martial arts; otherwise, he wouldn't have been able to lift the stone so easily.
With a gentle wave of his left hand, Li Wei Feng made the boy involuntarily drop the stone, which fell to the ground and nearly crushed his foot.
"Impressive, no wonder you have the confidence to tease me," the young man said, his expression turning serious. "May I ask how I have offended you that you feel the need to mock me like this?"
Li Wei Feng felt helpless and asked, "Did your father tell you why your uncle left home?"
Xianyu Hai tilted his head in thought. "Father once told us the reason privately, but he forbade us from sharing it with others."
Li Wei Feng couldn't help but chuckle at his response. "Alright, you don't need to come out with it, but please think carefully about what your father told you back then."
"The reason?" Xianyu Hai began to recall, a mysterious expression from his father's words surfacing in his mind. "Your uncle received the Celestial Fate and was taken away by the immortals."
Celestial Fate? Immortals? His uncle was taken by immortals? Did that mean his uncle had become an immortal? Immortals were ageless, so that explained why his uncle looked so young.
Xianyu Hai jumped up again. "You... are really my uncle?"
Li Wei Feng nodded with a smile.
Suddenly, Xianyu Hai turned and ran towards the gates of the Xianyu Family, shouting as he went, "Father! Grandfather! Grandmother! Uncle has returned!"
Li Wei Feng was taken aback but then smiled, gesturing for Hanno to follow him. Hanno stifled a laugh and walked alongside Li Wei Feng toward the gates of the Xianyu Family. Given Xianyu Hai's earlier behavior, the guards did not stop them. As they passed through the courtyard, they soon saw a group of people rushing out to greet them.
"Yang! It really is Yang!" Madam Xianyu exclaimed upon seeing Elder Brother Li, tears immediately streaming down her face.
Elder Brother Li knelt on the ground and bowed three times to Xianyu Lord and Madam Xianyu. "Unfilial child Xian Yu Yang pays respects to father and mother."
"Good child, quickly get up," both Xianyu Lord and Madam Xianyu said as they reached out to help their long-missed son to his feet.
"Good child, it's touching that you still remember us," Xianyu Lord said happily. He thought that his son had become an immortal and that they would never see him again in their lifetime!
Xianyu's elder brother stepped forward and patted his younger brother's shoulder. "Yang, with your appearance, have you truly become an immortal?"
Li Wei Feng smiled and replied, "In the eyes of mortals, we may seem like immortals, but in reality, we are merely cultivators. As long as one possesses a Spiritual Root, anyone can cultivate."
The gaze fell upon Xianyu Hai. "You possess a Spiritual Root. If you are willing, I can take you to the cultivation realm and let you follow the path of immortality."
Upon hearing this, Xianyu Hai felt as if a huge pie had fallen from the sky, leaving him utterly stunned.
Xianyu's elder brother sensed the longing in his son's eyes. Although he felt a bit reluctant, he nodded readily. "He has Celestial Fate; it is a blessing for him and our Xianyu Family. I can only be happy for him; how could I possibly hold him back? Why don't you take a look at my two older sons as well and see if they also have Celestial Fate?"
Li Wei Feng naturally agreed. "Sure. What about the two of them?"
Xianyu's elder brother replied, "The eldest is participating in a Scientific Expedition and will return in three days; the second one, like your Second Brother, enjoys wandering the martial world and has gone to join your Second Brother. I'll have someone send a message to your Second Brother right away, asking him to bring the second one back quickly."
"Is Second Brother doing well?" Li Wei Feng asked with concern. His Second Brother was quite adept at attracting trouble, much like the Sixth Phoenix; otherwise, he wouldn't have nearly brought disaster upon the Xianyu Family back then. He wondered if his Second Brother had learned to be more prudent over the years. After all, he had settled down and started a family, which meant something must have changed.
"Thanks to the elixirs and talismans you and Master left behind, my second brother has escaped danger twice with their protection. Later on, he took the elixir you left that enhances cultivation, and now his internal strength is formidable; his martial skills are among the best, and no one dares to lay a hand on him anymore," Xianyu's elder brother explained. "Ten years ago, he grew tired of the martial world and established Hidden Sword Villa on a mountain outside the city. He married my sister-in-law and had a daughter; his life is quite fulfilling."
Hearing that Xianyu Er Ge was doing well lifted all burdens from Li Wei Feng's heart.
Madam Xianyu's gaze landed on Hanno, who was standing beside Li Wei Feng. She stopped crying and happily asked Li Wei Feng, "Yang, is this beautiful girl your wife?"
Hanno's face turned bright red at her words as she shook her head repeatedly. "No, I'm not!"
Li Wei Feng added with a smile, "Not yet."
"Oh~~~" Everyone from the Xianyu Family exchanged knowing smiles.
Hanno shot Li Wei Feng an annoyed glare but surprisingly didn't get angry.
That evening, the Xianyu Family prepared a feast to welcome Xian Yu Yang home. Although Li Wei Feng and Hanno had already been fasting, they couldn't resist the warmth of the Xianyu Family's hospitality and ate a few bites. However, after those few bites, they indulged themselves fully in the delicious food laid out before them. After all, they were food lovers; why waste such an opportunity? The impurities in Mortal Realm food? They could just expel them through cultivation later! It might take up some training time, but with such scarce Spiritual Energy in the Mortal Realm, even cultivating for an entire night wouldn't yield as much benefit as half an hour in the cultivation realm.
After dinner, Li Wei Feng and Hanno called Xianyu Hai to their courtyard—after Li Wei Feng left, the Xianyu Family had kept his courtyard intact and regularly cleaned it; it was ready for occupancy with just a little tidying up. Although Xianyu's sister-in-law intended to arrange for Hanno to stay in the guest quarters, both Li Wei Feng and Hanno declined; Hanno stayed in Li Wei Feng's courtyard but in a different room. This further confirmed to the Xianyu Family that Hanno was indeed Li Wei Feng's wife—while both noticed that Xianyu Hai had a Spiritual Root but couldn't determine what kind it was. Now they would conduct a detailed test.
Li Wei Feng took out the compass used for testing Spiritual Roots and placed it on the stone table. "Focus your mind and don't think of anything," he instructed Xianyu Hai as he placed his hands on the compass.
The results were good. Although Xianyu Hai did not possess a Spiritual Root, he indeed had both Wood and Fire Spiritual Roots. Such a combination not only allowed for faster cultivation but also provided advantages in artifact forging and alchemy compared to others.
Li Wei Feng retracted the spirit-testing plate and handed Xianyu Hai a basic cultivation manual for entry-level disciples. "This is the foundational technique of our Azure Sky Sect. Practice it first, and feel free to ask me if you have any questions. In five years, when I return to the sect, I will take you back to meet our master."
"Yes!" Xianyu Hai was overjoyed, carefully cradling the manual as he happily left Li Wei Feng's courtyard.
Li Wei Feng watched Xianyu Hai bounce away, unable to suppress a smile. At that moment, Xianyu Hai reminded him so much of himself when he first learned he could cultivate the Nine Yang Divine Skill.
"Second Brother, since you're here, come out and have a drink with your younger brother!"
A middle-aged man in his forties jumped down from the lush branches, surprised as he asked, "I thought I had concealed my breath and body temperature to be indistinguishable from a stone. How did you detect me?"
Li Wei Feng smiled. "Elder Brother, cultivators possess Divine Sense. We can sense our surroundings without relying on sight or hearing. I noticed you the moment you entered the gate."
Xian Yu Er Ge laughed heartily. "No wonder you're like a deity; you're nothing like us mortals."
Li Wei Feng chuckled and took out a jar of wine from his storage bag, placing it on the table along with two cups—Hanno had returned to his room after dealing with Xianyu Hai and did not wish to socialize with Xian Yu Er Ge.
Seeing Li Wei Feng's display of skill, Xian Yu Er Ge exclaimed, "Is this the legendary Sleeve Universe?"
Li Wei Feng replied, "No, it's just a storage bag. If you want one, I have a low-grade storage bag available as well; its space is only about the size of this stone table. You don't need Divine Sense; just drop some blood to recognize it as yours."
He then produced another storage bag and handed it to Xian Yu Er Ge.
