Shen Chuiyang was shocked by Hanno's words and hurriedly asked, "Is your ability related to ancient martial arts? Does the ancient martial world really exist in this world? Are they about to emerge?"
Hanno replied, "I'm not sure if they will enter the ordinary society; I only know that among these people, there are quite a few who are even more powerful than ancient martial arts masters."
"More powerful than ancient martial arts masters? Then they..." Zhu Wenrui exclaimed in astonishment, "They can't be cultivators, can they?"
Hanno nodded.
Shen Chuiyang and Zhu Wenrui exchanged glances, their worldviews shattered completely.
"Cultivators?" Zhu Wenrui's voice began to tremble. "Does this world really have cultivators?"
Hanno said, "Originally, there weren't any, but a few months ago, some rules changed in a certain area, and cultivators appeared on Earth."
I absolutely believe that the rule change is related to me.
"Hanno, are you... are you a cultivator?" Shen Chuiyang asked.
Hanno tilted his head and said, "Guess!"
Hanno neither confirmed nor denied his identity as a cultivator. Both Zhu Wenrui and Shen Chuiyang were trustworthy individuals; they understood the importance of keeping Hanno's secret and would never leak it. Naturally, Hanno did not impose any restrictions on them.
Suddenly, there was a knock on the office door. Zhu Wenrui and Shen Chuiyang quickly put away their manuals, but there was still a handprint left on the table—too obvious... The two looked at Hanno.
Hanno smiled lightly, placed his left hand on the table, and gently wiped it. In an instant, the table was smoothed out, and all traces of the handprint vanished. Shen Chuiyang and Zhu Wenrui stared in disbelief and simultaneously extended their right hands to give a thumbs-up.
Hanno chuckled and raised his voice, "Come in."
The door opened, and Jia Qianjun walked in. Upon seeing Jia Qianjun, Hanno suddenly remembered that ever since arriving in this ancient world, every night had been spent entwined with Elder Brother Li, leaving no time to watch the videos of Mystical Hero that she had brought along. Tonight, she thought, she would go to the Great Zhou with her husband to watch a movie together!
As Jia Qianjun entered and spotted Hanno, she smiled and said, "The big boss is here too! Perfect timing, help me take a look at my new script."
"There's a new project? What's it about?" Hanno asked excitedly. Jia Qianjun was a great storyteller, and Hanno loved watching the films based on the scripts written by her.
"It's called Doomsday Dawn," Jia Qianjun replied enthusiastically. "Mr. Zhu introduced me to some interesting things online. I've recently watched several movies about apocalyptic zombies and found the theme of the apocalypse really fascinating, so I wrote my own story."
As she handed over the script, Hanno hadn't even gotten it before Zhu Wenrui intercepted it. "How can we share one copy among three people? I'll go make two more copies."
With that, he took the script and left the office.
Hanno looked at Jia Qianjun and said, "Old Jia, why don't you give us a brief overview of the plot?"
"Sure," Jia Qianjun began to narrate. "The protagonist is the Zombie King and his companions. The Zombie King was originally an expert in biotechnology who became a zombie at the onset of the apocalypse. However, he retained his memories after transforming into a zombie. He hid among the zombie horde and increased his strength by devouring other zombies' cores until he finally regained a human-like appearance. Then he arrived at a human base and formed bonds with several young companions as they undertook missions in this apocalyptic world..."
"The protagonist's abnormality became apparent to his companions over time as they learned about his identity as a zombie. Some feared him and despised him; others outright betrayed him by handing him over to research facilities for study. Yet there were three close friends who cared for him deeply and did not mind his zombie identity; they exerted effort to rescue him from the research facility... The protagonist's identity as the Zombie King ensured that he and his friends would not be harmed among the zombies, but witnessing the devastation of Earth and the rampant zombies was unbearable for him. He could understand why those at the research facility wanted to study him; if he were still human, he would also see zombies as subjects for experimentation. He was merely disappointed in those who betrayed him... Being originally skilled in biotechnology, he used his own blood for research and had endless zombies as research resources. Eventually, he developed an antidote and a restorative serum that allowed zombies to revert back to humans..."
Jia Qianjun excitedly asked, "Who would have thought that it would be the Zombie King who ultimately saves the apocalypse? Isn't that a great ending?"
Hanno and Shen Chuiyang nodded; it sounded quite good overall. Although it lacked much novelty, Jia Qianjun excelled at detailed descriptions and adding comedic elements. With these two aspects, the film Dawn of the Apocalypse would surely rival Mystical Hero. Sure enough, when Zhu Wenrui returned with three copies of the script, Hanno and her companions felt that while Dawn of the Apocalypse was impressive, it fell short compared to Jia Qianjun's previous film.
"How much investment does this movie need?" Shen Chuiyang asked as he set down the script.
Jia Qianjun had already calculated it: "This time we need a lot for special effects—at least one hundred million."
"One hundred million?" Shen Chuiyang and Zhu Wenrui gasped in surprise.
"Isn't that too much?" Zhu Wenrui said.
"Not really, this is the minimum cost after I've cut many expenses," Jia Qianjun shook his head. "Of course, if Hanno's friend could help us create video resources for the Zombie siege like they did for the ancient war scenes before, the cost could be reduced further."
Hanno shot Jia Qianjun a glare. "Dream on!"
Jia Qianjun asked, "Really can't do it?"
Hanno flashed a grin, showing his white teeth. "Unless I can travel to the apocalypse myself."
Jia Qianjun looked disappointed. "Can't do it? Then Hanno, can you approve an extra twenty million for me?"
Hanno replied, "Don't ask me, ask Shen Chuiyang. He's the one who makes the decisions."
Jia Qianjun said, "You're such an unreliable Boss."
Hanno chuckled. "While I can't give you more money, I can certainly hold back on giving you any as your Boss."
Jia Qianjun quickly changed his tone. "Boss, I was wrong. You are the most wise and powerful Boss."
Hanno said with a laugh, "I've run out of water."
Jia Qianjun immediately stood up. "I'll pour you some. Do you want tea? Coffee? Or a soft drink?"
"I'd like some juice, thank you."
"Please wait a moment!"
Jia Qianjun hurriedly took Hanno's cup and ran to the break room. Shen Chuiyang chuckled and shook his head, asking Hanno, "One hundred twenty million? Isn't that too much? Are you really going to approve it?"
Hanno replied, "You can't catch a wolf without letting go of the child. Jia Qianjun has the ability to make money; hasn't Mystical Hero earned us a lot? However, one hundred million is indeed a bit excessive. You could consider collaborating with other companies for joint investment."
Shen Chuiyang furrowed his brows and thought for a moment. "I'll think about it."
A buzzing sound came through the window, which annoyed Hanno. He asked, "Why are there planes flying over our office lately?"
Shen Chuiyang explained, "There's a state-owned aircraft manufacturing plant nearby that has recently developed a new plane and is currently testing it."
"I see, but it's too noisy," Hanno said as he walked to the window and peeked outside at the aircraft flying by. It looked very much like the private jets seen on television. Smacking his lips, he asked, "Should our company buy a private jet?"
"That sounds great!" Zhu Wenrui excitedly supported the idea. "With a private jet, we could go wherever we want; it's much more convenient than cars."
"Get real," Shen Chuiyang dismissed Zhu Wenrui's enthusiasm. "You think aviation regulations are just a piece of paper? We're not billionaires or those rich second-generation kids flaunting their wealth on TV. Why would we buy a private jet?"
"Uh, then let's not buy one," Hanno said, realizing it was just a fleeting thought. Since buying a private jet came with so many issues, it was better to forget about it.
After leaving the company, Hanno didn't linger in Provincial Capital and returned to D City. As soon as she got home, she quickly showered and changed before heading back to Great Zhou World. Elder Brother Li had already instructed the servants to prepare many delicious dishes waiting for her. Although Elder Brother Li wasn't particularly indulgent when it came to food, he had specially hired eight chefs at high salaries, each mastering the preparation of one specific cuisine.
"Darling, you must be tired today. Would you like me to give you a massage?" Elder Brother Li's hand sneakily reached for Hanno's waist, but she swatted it away.
"I went to Provincial Capital today and handed over the cultivation methods of War God Codex to Shen Chuiyang and Zhu Wenrui. I wonder when they will be able to cultivate Inner Power. By the way, the Martial Arts Manual sent to the military is Shaolin Arhat Skill—simple yet effective, suitable for tough guys in the army."
Elder Brother Li expressed his gratitude, saying, "Thank you, Nono."
In his previous life, the military was like another home for Elder Brother Li. Even though he had been given a second chance at life, he still held deep feelings for the military.
Hanno smiled, "Let's eat quickly. After dinner, we can watch a movie together."
"A movie?" Elder Brother Li asked. "What's it called? Who stars in it? Is it a new Hollywood film?"
"Neither. It's a movie produced by our company. I mentioned it to you last time, remember?"
Elder Brother Li exclaimed, "Oh! Is it that 'Mystical Hero'? The one that's sweeping the box office?"
"That's right, that's the one. I had Jia Qianjun make a video for me, and I brought it with me last time, but I forgot about it until now. I also brought my laptop and bought some cola and popcorn," Hanno said as he rummaged through his backpack.
Elder Brother Li chuckled, "You really came prepared!"
"What’s this? 'Dawn of the Apocalypse'? Did you print this out?" Elder Brother Li asked, holding up the script and glancing at the title on the cover.
"No, it's Jia Qianjun's new script. Jia Qianjun is the director of 'Mystical Hero'," Hanno replied.
"Jia Qianjun?" Elder Brother Li said with a hint of sarcasm, "Isn't he the director you happened to meet three times on Bay Island? Such a coincidence!"
Hanno laughed, "Oh, what a sour taste! Did you spill a few jars of vinegar?"
Elder Brother Li hugged Hanno tightly and leaned in closer, "You know how sour you can be sometimes."
