In the second year of Yongxi in the Great Zhou calendar, disasters struck across the land—floods, droughts, and earthquakes left the people in fear, believing they were being punished. At this time, two immortals appeared, calming the mountains and halting the floods. With their immense power, they resolved the calamities, bringing peace back to the people, who once again enjoyed stable lives. Grateful for the blessings of the two immortals, the citizens built temples and erected monuments to honor them, offering incense in worship.
The two immortals established a sacred mountain on the outskirts of the capital, using the earth as a furnace and melting stones to forge an immortal peak. They passed down their teachings and opened their mountain every ten years to accept disciples seeking to cultivate themselves into immortals. Many came from far and wide, including individuals from Northern Liang who traveled great distances to participate in the selection by the immortals. This day was designated as Ascension Day.
Hanno and Elder Brother Li realized that the recent disasters were manifestations of accumulated resentment from years of warfare wreaking havoc across various regions. The two purified this resentment and cleared the earth's veins, ultimately stopping the frequent calamities. They then redirected floodwaters and summoned rain to alleviate suffering in disaster-stricken areas, leading the people to believe that a miracle had occurred. Once all disasters were quelled, a divine light of merit descended upon them. Golden rays of merit enveloped both figures, breaking their concealment spells and revealing their true forms to all who had witnessed their aid. People knelt in sincere worship, granting them significant power from faith.
With their identities as immortals finally exposed, there was no turning back for them from the general's estate. Elder Brother Li entrusted his household servants to Wen Zixia and her husband. Now this couple had become objects of flattery among everyone in the capital; no one dared offend relatives of immortals and instead sought to curry favor with them. Their three-year-old twin sons also attracted attention, with suitors arriving incessantly at their door, prompting Li Zhoule to shut it against visitors.
Since their identities were revealed, they decided not to hide any longer and felt that it was time for Elder Brother Li's mission to begin. They resolved to spread cultivation practices and martial arts throughout this world. To make a grand impression and instill awe, they brought Jia Qianjun and Long Wenwen into this realm, emulating the Emei Sect from Shushan World to create an immortal mountain. They chose a desolate area on the outskirts of the capital for its location—once a battlefield where everything had been burned away, leaving it barren for years without even a blade of grass. The surrounding twenty miles were devoid of human presence, making it an ideal site for their mountain-building endeavor.
On Dragon Boat Festival day, while ordinary people joyfully celebrated with rice dumplings and dragon boat races, all high-ranking officials in the capital climbed onto the eastern city wall to gaze into the distance as if waiting for something.
"Are Wei Feng and his group really going to build a mountain in that wasteland?" Geng Shi'an asked Yue Yunfei.
"That's what Wei Feng informed me," Yue Yunfei replied. "You won't believe it—a crane suddenly flew before me and spoke! It startled me quite a bit. Truly impressive methods for an immortal."
Geng Shi'an sighed: "Having known Wei Feng for so long, I never expected he would quietly become an immortal."
Yue Yunfei said enviously: "He must have been lucky to find such a good wife."
"Our luck isn't bad either; we get to be good brothers with Wei Feng. Otherwise, how could we have obtained the Eternal Spring Technique?" Geng Shi'an felt content.
Yue Yunfei nodded at this: "How's your cultivation of Eternal Spring going? Have you made any progress?"
Geng Shi'an replied: "I've already reached the first level."
"What? How come you're progressing faster than me?" Yue Yunfei exclaimed in disbelief.
Geng Shi'an laughed heartily: "It's because I'm studying medicine; I understand meridians better than you do, so I naturally learn faster."
Yue Yunfei wanted to say something, but suddenly a long bell rang out from afar, clear and resonant in everyone's ears.
Geng Shi'an's expression changed, and he said, "It has begun."
Yue Yunfei fell silent, focusing his gaze like everyone else towards the distance. A tremendous rumble shook the ground, and a sea of fire erupted in the distance, with torrents of molten lava surging violently from beneath the earth. The sound of roaring wind and thunder filled the air, fierce and overwhelming, the flames radiating an intimidating heat. Although they were far away, everyone felt unbearably hot, drenched in sweat, parched as if on fire, and gasping for breath.
The sheer force of it left everyone pale; those who had been scheming finally understood that the power of the immortals was beyond what ordinary people could fathom.
Another bell tolled, and everyone watched as three large bubbles suddenly rose from the surface of the molten sea, each about a hundred acres in size and spaced evenly apart by about twenty miles. Surrounding these three large bubbles were numerous smaller bubbles of varying sizes, scattered like stars around them. After a short while, all these bubbles ceased to grow and began to take on the shapes of peaks and valleys. One elongated bubble suddenly burst with a crisp sound, revealing a stream within it, clear water gushing forth and flowing gently, transforming into a serene shore with quiet rocks.
Four figures appeared in the sky, their celestial robes fluttering gracefully, evoking admiration. They simultaneously pulled seeds from their sleeves and scattered them downwards. The originally dark mountain began to be covered in green, adorned with jade branches and exquisite flowers, making the peaks appear vibrant and picturesque.
Everyone was left dumbfounded; not just them but even ordinary people who had been startled by the spectacle stood in awe. This was a true miracle! Someone among them knelt down to worship the immortals, and even Geng Shi'an and Yue Yunfei, who were good friends with these two immortals, found themselves kneeling involuntarily.
Jia Qianjun looked down at their "masterpiece" with immense satisfaction and said, "Ever since I saw the grand opening ceremony of the Emei Sect, I've been itching to do something like this myself. But in the modern world, the government never gives me such opportunities. Luckily you all thought to do this in this ancient world; it's so interesting!"
Long Wenwen chuckled lightly: "The Primordial World doesn't have so many taboos; can't you just create mountains or fill seas at will? Why didn't you try it out?"
Jia Qianjun wiped his face: "Don't mention it; the Primordial World is full of powerful beings. Just moving a finger could crush a mountain or fill a lake. Creating mountains here feels meaningless; there's no sense of achievement."
Hanno chuckled: "You enjoy this feeling of being worshipped by the masses, don't you?"
Jia Qianjun laughed: "Have you seen right through me?"
Elder Brother Li interjected: "There's still some leftover work to do; let's finish that before we chat."
After completing their remaining tasks, Elder Brother Li and Hanno worked together to set up formations around the peaks. Once activated, everyone watched in shock as the newly created celestial mountain abruptly vanished.
A steady male voice echoed through the air: "Qingcheng Xianshan appears once every ten years for a period of ten days to recruit new disciples. Those who wish to cultivate can go to the foot of Qingcheng Xianshan. The mountain has set up three trials for everyone; those who successfully pass will be allowed to enter the mountain for cultivation. The opening date for this event will be one month from now."
Cultivating Immortality? Can mortals really cultivate immortality? Entering the Immortal Mountain? Everyone was stunned by this news, followed by a surge of joy; they too had the chance to cultivate! What were they waiting for? They hurried to Qingcheng Xianshan to wait! After hiding once, Elder Brother Li made it visible again—everyone from the Great Zhou Dynasty sprang into action!
Jia Qianjun and Long Wenwen found the Great Zhou Dynasty's era fascinating and decided to stay a bit longer instead of rushing back to the modern world. They chose one of the three main peaks, settled down, and wandered around the mountain, planning to return when it was time to recruit new disciples. Long Wenwen had advanced from the early stage of Nascent Soul to the mid-stage after being washed by Earth Qi last time, and later, with Jia Qianjun's help using rare earth treasures, she directly crossed over the Transcendence Stage to reach the Integration Stage. She had become the most powerful existence in Qingcheng Sect and was already qualified to take on disciples. This time, Long Wenwen wanted to accept several disciples in this world to pass on Qingcheng Sect's legacy. Hanno and Elder Brother Li had no objections and directly named the sect Qingcheng Sect.
After arranging everything, Hanno and Elder Brother Li welcomed a group of guests: Li Zhoule and his wife, Yue Yunfei and his wife, along with Geng Shi'an and his wife. They all brought their sons and daughters, eager to see if their children had a chance to join the immortal sect. Fortunately, all these kids possessed Spiritual Roots; although their attributes weren't strong, they could still cultivate. Hanno and Elder Brother Li promised the eager parents that when the children turned ten, they could enter Qingcheng Sect without undergoing any tests. Li Zhoule and others were overjoyed, feeling as if a weight had been lifted off their shoulders, finally in the mood to explore the Immortal Mountain. This was indeed an immortal mountain; ordinary people rarely had a chance to see it, yet they could wander freely as if it were a blessing accumulated over several lifetimes! Hanno and Elder Brother Li took them on a tour of the mountain, treating them to fruits grown there. These immortal fruits were brought back from Shushan World and contained minimal Spiritual Energy, making them suitable for ordinary people.
"Delicious! Is this really an immortal fruit?" Mo Yan, the Princess asked curiously while eating a fist-sized fruit.
Hanno smiled and said, "This fruit is called Buddha Palm, also known as Tororo Banana. It tastes quite good, and after eating it, it has nourishing effects on the body. You should eat more."
Buddha Palm was something Hanno exchanged with a hermit from Copper Coconut Island during his time in Shushan World. Buddha Palm thrived on magnetic essence and remained evergreen throughout winter and summer, bearing fruit every thirteen years. Although it wasn't as effective as Zhu Guo or Ping Fruit in terms of spiritual benefits, its color, fragrance, and taste were exceptional; consuming it could also extend one's lifespan.
Mo Yan hesitated for a moment before Hanno noticed and asked, "Is there something troubling you, Princess?"
Taking a deep breath, Mo Yan replied, "Could I have two more Buddha Palms? I want to take them home for my father and mother."
As soon as she finished speaking, Geng Shi'an and Yue Yunfei's eyes also lit up with eager anticipation.
Hanno chuckled lightly: "Although Buddha Palm is rare in yield, I have some reserved here. When you leave, I'll give each of you a basket."
Mo Yan and others were overjoyed and repeatedly thanked Hanno. He smiled gently; just a few fruits were nothing compared to the many better ones he had here—unfortunately, mortals couldn't consume them. Mo Yan and her companions were their best friends in this world; both he and Elder Brother Li enjoyed having them around for longer conversations.
