Chapter Sixty-Three: The Clash
With a thunderous roar, the Naval Battleship shook violently.
"Did we get hit? Was it that sea creature?"
On the deck, Yuchimura, who had just been promoted to Commodore, felt the ship's tremors and recalled the black sea creature that had attacked the pirates a week ago.
"How dare it attack a Naval Battleship? It truly overestimates itself," Yuchimura shook his head, dismissing the thought.
At that moment, a Sailor rushed up, shouting, "Commodore! There's a large hole in the starboard side of the hull, and two compartments have been breached!"
"What? The ship has been damaged and two compartments are compromised?"
Yuchimura could hardly believe it. A fish about forty meters long could cause such destruction to a Naval Battleship and affect two compartments at once?
It was just a fish after all; this Battleship was built to withstand the harsh conditions of the Grand Line and unpredictable ocean currents.
Not even a sea creature or a Sea King could breach its defenses.
More importantly, how could it have attacked this Warship?
There was Seastone beneath him; even Sea Kings regarded the ship as part of the sea and would not attack. Why would this creature do so?
Boom.
As Major Yuchimura stood in confusion, the ship trembled again, this time with even greater intensity.
"This time, three compartments are leaking!" the Sailor shouted as he rushed back up.
"We can't let it collide again. I'll jump in and kill it."
Yuchimura's expression was cold as he removed his cloak, then stripped off his outer clothing, pants, and shoes, tossing them aside.
He picked up his long knife, discarded the sheath, and gripped the blade tightly as he stepped onto the ship's railing.
With a swift motion, Yuchimura leaped off the ship and plunged into the sea, diving downwards.
"Where is it?"
Underwater, Yuchimura scanned his surroundings and spotted a massive dark shadow rushing toward him from a distance.
It's coming.
He tightened his grip on the long knife but did not attack immediately.
In the water, human strength was halved. Although Yuchimura was confident he could kill a sea fish of similar size or even a Sea Beast, this particular creature had already smashed through two or three compartments, showcasing its immense power.
Do not be careless.
Yuchimura's body slowly sank, planning to wait for the sea fish to charge in, and once it got close, he would spring out and attack from below.
Here it comes.
Yuchimura saw the creature approaching; it was a massive sea fish with a huge head and protruding horns.
No wonder it could ram a battleship.
Yuchimura's body coiled up, ready to strike upwards at any moment.
But in that instant, the sea fish stopped its forward charge and instead dove down, crashing toward Yuchimura.
"Is it targeting me? It seems its intention is to attack humans."
Yuchimura was not surprised. This sea fish had sunk three pirate ships within a week, leaving no survivors; it seemed to have killed them all.
Now that it was coming for him, it prioritized attacking him, proving that its target was indeed humans.
As long as it didn't attack the warship, everything would be fine.
Yuchimura's main mission was to prevent it from sinking the warship. If it was now attacking him, then he would deal with it.
Yuchimura did not dare to blink, keeping his eyes fixed on the fish's form as it drew closer. With a powerful push of his legs, he shifted his body to the side.
In an instant, his legs unleashed tremendous power, creating distance in a heartbeat.
The timing was perfect.
As he pulled away, Xiaqiu charged into the position where he had just fought.
Yuchimura, with both hands gripping his sword, swung it toward Xiaqiu's side.
The blade sliced through the water with immense force, and Yuchimura believed he could sever Xiaqiu's head with a single strike.
But thoughts and reality were worlds apart.
Boom.
As he surged forward, Xiaqiu's massive body collided with Yuchimura like a freight train.
You think you can evade me?
My sonar sensitivity rivals that of a dolphin; even the slightest difference is discernible to me.
Just as Yuchimura barely dodged, his hands wielding the sword came down, but Xiaqiu's Fish Body was already upon him.
Bang.
Yuchimura's knife hit the scales in front of Xiaqiu's gills. So what if you react? My knife can chop stones, how can you stop me? puff. Yuchimura's knife fell on the fish scale, and the fish scale was cut, but the fish scales were superimposed on each other, and the tail end of the fish scale blocked the starting position of the next fish scale. So after Yuchimura cuts a piece of fish scales, there are still fish scales underneath. clang. Yuchimura's knife was blocked and could no longer advance one point. How is it possible? Yuchimura looked surprised. He actually cut off only one scale. If it were a whale, he could split his head with just one knife. Yuchimura is the Commodore of the headquarters. He is very strong, especially good at swordsmanship. His title is "Hundred-Man Slayer". Many pirates hated him with his sword. He could cut stones and cut off ships, but he could only split one scale on Xiaqiu. This is because human strength is reduced by half underwater. Secondly, Xiaqiu shortened the attack distance so that his sword could not cut as far as possible, and its power weakened again.
Finally, the scales of Xiaqiu had become incredibly hard after multiple enhancements.
Able to cut through a blade, its strength was not to be underestimated.
Boom.
Yuchimura's sword could not withstand the impact of Xiaqiu's body, which continued to push sideways, pressing against Yuchimura's sword and crashing into him.
Yuchimura exerted force with his arms to hold the sword steady, pushing off the water with his feet as his body quickly leaned back.
Xiaqiu halted its forward momentum, and Yuchimura followed suit, lowering himself to dive beneath Xiaqiu, intending to attack from below.
In that instant he descended, four massive tentacles struck out—two lunging directly at Yuchimura while the other two slowly closed in, aiming to ensnare him.
"What is this?"
Yuchimura's eyes widened in disbelief. Does your fish have tentacles?
He hurriedly raised his sword and swung it forward.
Thud.
The long blade sliced into one of the tentacles, embedding itself two-thirds of the way in but not breaking.
"Very resilient."
In a moment of haste, the power was not fully concentrated, yet it was enough to sever at least one Tentacle. This Tentacle, resilient as it was, had its own will.
At the same time, another Tentacle struck his body.
Boom.
"What immense strength."
Yuchimura's body jolted as he was hit by the back of the Tentacle, but he did not sustain serious injuries.
However, at that moment, two more Tentacles closed in, coiling around Yuchimura's body.
Whoosh.
Yuchimura knew he could not allow himself to be ensnared. He fell downward while swinging his long blade.
Arc Slash.
The long blade transformed into a circle and instantly struck the Tentacles.
Thud thud.
The two Tentacles each bore a wound, sliced halfway through and now drooping limply.
But just as Yuchimura's arc slash connected with the Xiaqiu's tentacle, Xiaqiu had already rolled over, its massive Pectoral Fin sweeping toward him.
Your strength is impressive; your first strike nearly severed your own Tentacles, so Xiaqiu had no particular thoughts about it.
As Xiaqiu ducked down, he used his Tentacles to attack, but in addition, he charged forward.
This exposed Yuchimura's figure beneath his Pectoral Fin.
Yuchimura sensed the rush of water and was about to draw his blade when Xiaqiu's massive Pectoral Fin struck him.
Bang.
Yuchimura could only raise his long sword to block in front of him, hoping to withstand the blow.
But it was futile; the enormous Pectoral Fin sliced through the blade, and the width of the sword was insignificant against it. The fin still slammed down, crashing into him.
Wow.
Using the strength from his arm for support, Yuchimura retreated downward, but he was still hit hard, forcing a breath out of him.
Not only that, but his left arm throbbed with pain, nearly causing him to drop his sword.
Damn it.
Yuchimura felt a breath escape him, a sense of suffocation building in his lungs, but he could still hold on; he could last another thirty seconds.
But he couldn't kill him.
With his defensive capabilities, it was simply impossible for him to kill him.
Who could believe that there were tentacles on his abdomen?
More importantly, he could even utilize the Pectoral Fin.
With great strength and a large size, was this a sea creature?
Underwater, he couldn't even use certain techniques from the Six Styles.
With only thirty seconds left, he couldn't possibly kill him.
He had to find an opportunity to surface from the Surface of the Sea.
