Good times always seem to pass quickly. 0

Chen Rui sat in the sand, unable to forget Kaitina's figure, ignoring the heavy topics around him; Kaitina was simply beautiful. 0

"Hey! Hey! Buckle up, stop daydreaming," Wang Bolin waved his hand in front of Chen Rui. "Are you really crushing on that girl? Seriously, do you think you're the main character in a harem anime? You're not handsome, your build is average, and you're not that tall. What are you dreaming about?" 0

Facing Wang Bolin's sarcastic remarks, Chen Rui chose to ignore him. After fastening his seatbelt, he continued to stare blankly out the window. 0

"No way, did I really hit the nail on the head!" Wang Bolin pretended to be scared. "I wonder which girl is going to be let down this time." Shaking his head, he entered the cockpit. 0

In truth, Chen Rui didn't have any feelings for Kaitina; he had never believed in love at first sight. 0

According to Chen Rui's theory, love at first sight was merely a result of hormones surging in an instant. Of course, the triggers for those hormones could be looks, charm, and so on. 0

But that was only temporary; once you got to know someone better, issues or contradictions might arise, and the hormones would no longer stir as they did during that initial encounter. 0

Thus, Chen Rui believed that true love at first sight didn't exist. What most young people referred to as "I fell for you at first sight..." was merely a fleeting moment of superficial attraction without any genuine liking or acceptance of the person themselves. 0

While Chen Rui pondered these chaotic thoughts, Wang Bolin had already taxied the plane to the takeoff preparation area. 0

Here, Chen Rui didn’t enjoy the privilege of cutting in line like at Duguo International Airport or Honolulu Airport. Every plane here was filled with passengers of equal status, and those who had priority had flown back yesterday. It wouldn’t be good if heavyweight figures were exposed by the media at the same time. 0

On the bright side, although there were many planes waiting, all runways were cleared for their use. The landing and takeoff times for cargo planes that were supposed to land or take off had all been pushed back. 0

Due to geographical reasons, Chen Rui and his companions would experience a prolonged day. Considering rest, Chen Rui wasn't thinking about engaging in any activities with them. 0

It seemed everyone shared Chen Rui's thoughts; they were all resting with their eyes closed. The local time was seven o'clock. When they returned to Beijing, it would still be before noon there. Throughout the flight, they saw the sun slowly rising but never quite reaching its peak. 0

Wang Bolin and Qiaoqin couldn't take turns resting or sleeping. Even though they were all on the same team, a mission was a mission; safety had to come first. 0

Chen Rui unknowingly drifted into slumber, not dreaming of anything pleasant. For some reason, ever since he became involved in this line of work, he had not had a single dream. 0

He was jolted awake—not by someone shaking him, but by the entire plane experiencing turbulence. Chen Rui immediately sensed that something was wrong. He quickly unbuckled his seatbelt and rushed into the cockpit. 0

The cockpit of the G65 was not as spacious as that of a Boeing Aircraft. Chen Rui could only grab onto Wang Bolin's armrest. "What's going on? Are we hitting turbulence?" 0

"No," Wang Bolin replied, sweat pouring down his face as he attempted to restart the engine again, but to no avail. "The engine has shut down automatically. I'm trying to restart it, but it's not working." 0

"Are we out of fuel?" Chen Rui asked. 0

Wang Bolin pointed at the fuel gauge. "Are you kidding me? Do you think this is one of those jokes from a dream? This is a government aircraft; how could we possibly run out of fuel? Just look at the gauge." 0

"Shut down the engine and let it glide. Where are we now? We should be nearing the East China Sea, right?" Chen Rui's forehead was also slick with cold sweat. This wasn't a movie; if they really had to make an emergency landing over the ocean, chances were slim that anyone would survive, especially since this private jet didn't have enough parachutes. 0

"The East China Sea? Not even close! At our current altitude, we can still fly for about an hour—if we're lucky, we might just reach the edge of the East China Sea!" Wang Bolin said angrily. "We're entering emergency mode now; change course to 1. We're making an emergency landing in Kagoshima, Japan." He fiddled with the electronic map on his right. 0

At the moment of declaring an emergency, Wang Bolin had the authority to decide on the flight path without needing to consult anyone. 0

"An hour to reach the East China Sea? Then we should definitely make it to Kagoshima," Chen Rui sighed in relief. "I'll go tell them to fasten their seatbelts; our lives are in your hands now." 0

As Chen Rui exited the cockpit, Wang Bolin's cold sweat intensified. 0

Qiaoqin laughed lightly. "Since you said that, are you really prepared to abandon them?" 0

"How could I!" Wang Bolin shouted desperately at Qiaoqin. 0

"Don't yell at me; it's your responsibility to land us in Kagoshima," Qiaoqin said with a serious expression. "So don't fly us into the ocean!" 0

Above the altimeter, the five large digits began to move, slowly at first, then increasingly faster. 0

Wang Bolin had no confidence in making an emergency landing in Kagoshima; he even doubted whether he would be able to see Japan. The altitude and speed were not sufficient because he had not shut down the engine immediately but had tried to reignite it, missing the best opportunity… 0

Chen Rui returned to the cabin, where everyone had been jolted awake by the recent turbulence. However, none of them were professionals; the best course of action was to fasten their seatbelts and avoid causing trouble. So, Chen Rui saw that everyone was sitting quietly in their seats, their seatbelts fastened tightly—completely different from the casual way they would buckle up during takeoff and landing before. 0

“The engine has stalled for unknown reasons and cannot be restarted. We are about to make an emergency landing at Kagoshima Airport.” Chen Rui suddenly realized that there was little use in telling them this. “All we need to do is fasten our seatbelts and wait for the landing.” 0

“That’s a very straightforward statement,” Zhang Jun remarked, eliciting a chuckle from the group. 0

After Chen Rui sat down and secured his seatbelt, he felt the turbulence change noticeably. Although it was still quite bumpy, it was much better than before. Chen Rui understood that this was due to the engine beginning to windmill in the airflow, but that did not mean everyone was safe yet. 0

In the cockpit, Wang Bolin was communicating with his superiors about the situation. “Okay, okay, understood! We will definitely reach there! They will be absolutely safe!” 0

Meanwhile, Wang Bolin had to focus intently on maintaining the plane's balance. Flying a powerless aircraft felt entirely different from flying one with power. As Chen Rui put it: piloting a powered aircraft is like having someone push you while riding a bicycle; however, flying a powerless aircraft feels like trying to control an overloaded shopping cart going downhill. 0

A powerless aircraft must maintain stability because it has lost its thrust and is gliding forward due to inertia. However, if any small error occurs, it could lead to a complete loss of control of the aircraft. 0

Wang Bolin was determined to get them safely to Kagoshima, even if it meant potentially crashing into the waters off Japan. He still wanted to try; he wasn’t just looking out for his own escape! The parachutes on this plane were only equipped for the pilot and co-pilot, and if he left alone, they wouldn’t have any chance of survival. 0

He self-deprecatingly thought for a moment before seeing Qiaoqin take off her headset and hurriedly asked, “What about Japan?” 0

“They are cooperating well. Kagoshima Airport will implement air traffic control in five minutes for our landing. The rest depends on you; if we’re lucky, we still have eleven minutes to land successfully,” Qiaoqin replied while glancing at her watch. 0

The remaining half of her sentence went unspoken: or we might end up playing around in the ocean eleven minutes later. 0

Wang Bolin nodded, forcing himself to concentrate entirely on flying. Although they had been in the air for over seven hours already, he still managed to keep himself alert. 0

"Feels like we're back in the old days," Qiaoqin said, looking at Wang Bolin, who couldn't help but smile. 0

"Is that so? Those times were indeed very beautiful," Wang Bolin replied with a smile. "If I could go back to that time, I definitely wouldn't do it again." 0

"I know." 0

... 0

Kagoshima Airport: 0

"Attention all teams! The emergency landing flight involves important government officials, so stay alert," a middle-aged man stood by the fire truck, briefing a group of armed Emergency Responders. 0

Not far away, two men in suits were quietly discussing something. 0

"It wasn't us who took action; it's still unclear. Their methods are too sophisticated," said the younger man. 0

"This is troublesome. I don't know which country's people lack a sense of the bigger picture, causing trouble just as the plan was about to be implemented," the older man said, extinguishing his cigarette and clenching his fist against the wall. 0

"Team Leader, don't be impulsive. I have a feeling it wasn't one of the participating countries that did this," the young man quickly explained. "They wouldn't want the plan to fall apart either." 0

"No, the plan won't fall apart, but those behind it might know where they want to strike. In any case, they cannot afford to make mistakes within Japan!" 0

"Understood." 0

... 0

"We did it! We really did it!" Wang Bolin exclaimed almost frantically from the cockpit as he finally spotted the airport. 0

Qiaoqin frowned slightly but then broke into a smile. "Just act normal! We haven't landed yet." 0

Due to air traffic control at Kagoshima Airport, all flights were delayed in their takeoff or landing times. The runway was clear, allowing Wang Bolin to make a direct approach. 0

With the engines unable to reverse thrust, Wang Bolin lowered the flaps as he spotted the airport. By the time the aircraft touched down, its speed had already decreased. Being a small business jet, it didn't face the inertia issues that larger commercial airliners often encountered. 0

As the plane taxied, fire trucks rushed onto the runway, spraying foam at the aircraft in a frenzy. 0

Chen Rui unbuckled his seatbelt and looked outside at the several hoses; for a moment, he didn't want to leave the plane at all... 0

After everyone was drenched, they saw two well-dressed men cross the safety barrier and head straight toward them. 0

The older man spoke in fluent Northeastern Mandarin. "Hello, I am Higashizaki Nishiki, the overall project manager from Japan. I have already dispatched personnel to investigate this incident. I assure you of your absolute safety in Japan and that we are not related to this accident." With that, he extended his right hand. 0

Zhang Jun initially thought about straightening his clothes but remembered he was soaked and decided against it, simply shaking hands with the Japanese official. 0

"Your itinerary has been arranged according to your superiors' instructions. After landing, you will fly directly from Kagoshima to Tokyo and then from Tokyo to Beijing," Higashizaki Nishiki paused for a moment and smiled. "However, I believe you would prefer to change into some dry clothes first." 0

Chen Rui couldn't help but retort, "You know that and you're still rambling on about useless things." 0

A chorus of side glances followed... 0
