After hanging up the phone, Chen Rui's expression turned serious as he gazed at everyone. He had put the call on speaker, so everyone present heard the command from the Superior Department. 0

As Chen Rui connected the call and activated the speaker, the entire office fell silent, with all ears tuned to the voice coming from the other end. 0

"Officer Chen." 0

"It's me," Chen Rui replied. 0

"Is the mission completed?" 0

"Yes, it is. However, we had to use some special measures; otherwise, they would have caused even greater losses. Even so, we sacrificed eleven agents." 0

"I'm not blaming you. There’s a new order for you and your team." 0

Everyone in the office collectively held their breath, realizing this was the beginning of a new mission. 0

"Understood. Please provide instructions," Chen Rui said, hoping to find clues in this conversation. 0

"The avian flu outbreak in Africa has become quite severe, and it's already started spreading in some cities of our country. However, it seems there haven't been any cases reported in your area yet." 0

"That's correct; there haven't been any issues in the urban area so far," Chen Rui said, beads of sweat beginning to form on his forehead. 0

"Here's the situation: the Vice President has left Los Angeles and is heading your way. You must ensure that the Vice President safely boards the flight to Washington." 0

"Understood!" 0

"In addition, to facilitate your work, I will order local police to cooperate with your actions. I will also issue a directive to lift restrictions on weapons. However, you must remain vigilant; after all, they are only half-trained while you are the main force." 0

"Understood!" 0

Although nothing was explicitly stated, the clever ones could already find the answer in this conversation. 0

First: Why did the Vice President have to rush here from Los Angeles? Can't the airports in Los Angeles or the closer cities be used? 0

The answer is simple: Los Angeles has already begun to experience outbreaks of the so-called African Avian Influenza, and the airports are in heavily infected areas. The cities closer to Los Angeles are likely in the same situation, which clarifies why the Vice President had to travel over four hundred kilometers to Las Vegas to catch a flight. 0

Second: The African Avian Influenza! It can sweep across the globe in a short time and cause widespread infections, with even the Presidential Guard too afraid to charge into infected zones. This virus is very similar to those seen in certain movies. 0

Third: The rate of infection spreads very quickly. If it is not airborne, then it is caused by Infected Persons, who will seek out and attack those who are not infected shortly after becoming infected. 0

These three points all point towards a creature that only appears in films: Zombies! 0

Everyone silently looked at Zhou Yan. Under the gaze of more than twenty pairs of eyes, Zhou Yan finally nodded lightly. 0

Chen Rui scratched his head and joked, "None of you have been eaten before, right? How about experiencing it once?" 0

"Stop joking around, give the order quickly," Peng Hao said impatiently. "I've wanted to play this kind of game for a long time. Before, I was just accompanying players; I couldn't let loose. This time, let me enjoy it!" 0

"That's true; this does sound more interesting," Ye Han agreed. 0

"Exactly." The player team chimed in enthusiastically. 0

"Alright then, here's the plan: I'll take the Zhan Min Group and Liu Xin's team with you all to control the situation at the airport. Peng Hao, you and Ye Han's teams will go pick up the vehicles. Lujie, you three stay here and make sure to clear a path before the Vice President's convoy arrives. They must not stop during their journey to the airport!" Chen Rui quickly assigned tasks. "Any objections?" 0

Zhou Yan silently raised his hand. 0

"My arrangement is the most beneficial for now; what do you have to say?" Chen Rui replied slightly annoyed but didn't want to lose his temper directly, so he passed the ball back. 0

"What I mean is, why should we listen to your orders? We're not like them," Zhou Yan said, pointing at Chen Rui with a smile. 0

"Indeed, you are different from them," Chen Rui said, looking at Zhou Yan with a helpless shrug. "They are official FBI agents, while you are criminals!" 0

"Who told you to ignore the criminals right in front of you?" Chen Rui shouted loudly. 0

All the members of the Action Team raised their rifles in unison, disengaged the safety, and chambered rounds. The speed was so quick that Li Li, Zhou Yan, and the others didn't even have time to react. 0

"What’s going on?" Li Xue grabbed Chen Rui's arm, startled by the scene before her. Chen Rui's expression plunged Li Xue into a state of fear and anxiety. 0

"What are you doing? I'm just carrying out a mission," Chen Rui replied. His words, filled with sarcasm, left everyone present unable to laugh; it was simply too true. 0

Zhou Yan hadn't expected his comment would provoke such an intense response from Chen Rui. After regaining his composure, he quickly smiled apologetically. "I'm sorry! I was just joking. Don’t take it seriously. With your outstanding command, how could I genuinely disagree?" 0

"Get out immediately." 0

Chen Rui didn’t directly respond to Zhou Yan but made it clear to everyone what the order was. Ye Han and Peng Hao took the team members and quickly exited the office. 0

"How far is the Vice President's convoy from here? How long until they arrive?" Chen Rui's expression was grim, so Lujie refrained from making any usual sarcastic remarks and quickly found out the location and progress of the Vice President's convoy. 0

"They are three hundred eighty-five kilometers away from us. At the current speed, they will reach the exit of Highway 15 in one hour and forty-five minutes," Lujie reported without hesitation. 0

Chen Rui nodded. "Send this information to Peng Hao and Ye Han each, and inform me immediately if anything happens." 0

"Understood." 0

Chen Rui looked at the six members of the player squad with a stern face. "What are you staring at? You might as well change your clothes." 0

"Change what clothes?" Zhou Yan suddenly had a bad feeling surge within him and immediately asked. 0

"What clothes are you changing into?" 0

Chen Rui's brows furrowed as he suppressed his anger. "Hurry up and change into your combat uniform. Going out like this is just embarrassing." 0

Zhou Yan understood that this comment was directed at her, as she was still wearing Ye Han's pajamas. However, Ye Han's figure was clearly much better than hers, and she was taller too. The pajamas hung loosely on Zhou Yan, accentuating her cuteness, but it certainly did not present the image of a warrior or an agent. 0

After changing into the Four-Color Camouflage combat uniform, Zhou Yan took out her phone to check her appearance. She pouted; her face simply did not suit military or camouflage attire. The large letters "FBI" emblazoned on her bulletproof vest made her feel like an actress or a clown amusing the audience. 0

"What are you standing around for? Are you going to the battlefield with just your fists?" Chen Rui continued to yell at the players, completely unconcerned that they were his clients. 0

A few weapon boxes were brought out, revealing standard rifles lying quietly inside, waiting to be awakened. 0

The group wasted no time and immediately began checking their gear, calibrating their sights, and confirming that the safety, magazine, and trigger were all functioning properly. Their skilled handling was far beyond what an ordinary ARgae player could manage; these individuals had definitely spent considerable time at shooting clubs abroad. 0

"Move out!" Chen Rui waved his hand and turned to leave the office. 0

The crisp sounds of loading magazines and chambering rounds echoed in the air—familiar noises to anyone who had spent time with weapons. 0

"Don't move!" Zhou Yan's voice came from behind Chen Rui. 0

He stopped in his tracks and turned to look at her. Sure enough, she was aiming a rifle at him, her cheek pressed against the stock. 0

Chen Rui sighed lightly. "You've already lost." 0

"That's obvious! But I told you not to move!" Zhou Yan stepped forward, creating an awkward atmosphere in the room. 0

"What's the point?" Chen Rui shook his head, watching Zhou Yan quietly. 0

Li Li observed the scene and felt a strong urge to intervene. However, seeing Zhou Yan's anger made it difficult for him to speak up. He glanced at Chen Rui and suddenly realized something terrifying. 0

All the agents around Chen Rui, including the operatives, were silently watching Zhou Yan just like him. Li Li quickly looked around and noticed that no one else in the office had raised a rifle. Cold sweat began to trickle down his back. 0

Generally, when a direct superior is taken hostage, most subordinates will immediately raise their weapons and aim at the assailant, while the remaining few will do so after they have reacted. 0

Even if they are not prepared to fire, they would never remain as indifferent as those present, treating Zhou Yan as if she were nothing. No! It was not that they regarded her as insignificant, but rather that they dismissed the rifle in her hands, as if Zhou Yan were merely holding a toy gun. 0

Zhou Yan let out a cold laugh. "You will regret this!" 0

With a 'bang', the bullet was fired, yet Chen Rui did not stop his movements. In less than a second, he closed the distance of several meters to zero. Under Zhou Yan's astonished gaze, Chen Rui swiftly kicked out with his left leg, striking her rifle with his military boot. The immense force forced Zhou Yan to release her grip with her right hand, and the rifle flew backward. 0

Chen Rui did not pause; he immediately crouched down and swept his leg across the ground, landing a swift kick to Zhou Yan's ankle. As he completed his move, he rose to his feet just as Zhou Yan fell to the ground. 0

"I’m done," Chen Rui adjusted his clothes. "You’ve already lost." 0

Silence… an eerie silence… 0

Chen Rui walked straight out of the office, followed by others who also exited without sparing a glance at them, as if Zhou Yan's farce were nothing more than a joke that failed to capture their attention. 0

"Should we follow them?" 0

"Of course, we should follow them." Zhou Yan struggled to get up, her eyes gleaming with excitement. 0
