"Why did you take so long to arrive?" Bai Qingyu looked at Li Li, her expression brightening. "You finally made it here, yet you kept me waiting. Do you even care about me?" 0

Li Li wrapped her arms around Bai Qingyu and playfully tapped her nose, laughing, "Of course I do! Otherwise, we wouldn't have traveled all this way. Look at us; we rushed here so quickly that we didn't even have lunch." 0

Hearing such shameless words, even Chen Rui couldn't hold back a chuckle. He quickly turned away and coughed a few times to suppress his amusement. The hotel wasn't far away; it was just a ten-minute drive. Yet, Li Li made it sound like they had just flown in from abroad. 0

"Hmph!" Bai Qingyu broke free from Li Li's embrace, smirking mischievously. "Don't try to fool me. Even if I'm a bit slow, I can still remember where I booked the hotel. You clearly don't take me seriously." 0

Li Li chuckled awkwardly a couple of times. Noticing Chen Rui coughing beside them, she rolled her eyes and whispered, "Actually, it's not entirely my fault. It's this guy here; we were all waiting for him as if he were an emperor. If it weren't for him, we would have arrived much earlier." 0

Hey! How shameless can you be? Chen Rui had almost regained his composure when he heard Li Li's words and nearly choked again—this time out of anger. 0

Cough cough cough... Seeing Chen Rui taking the blame, Bai Qingyu grinned playfully and invited everyone into the villa. "Let's go inside and chat. If we keep talking out here, someone might see us and start spreading rumors." 0

Everyone nodded in understanding and followed Bai Qingyu into the villa. 0

The villa was spacious, even larger than it appeared from the outside. Upon entering, there was a wide staircase leading directly to the second floor, with four archways on either side leading to the hall and two rooms. 0

The interior decor wasn't particularly luxurious; it seemed mismatched with the high price of the place. There were no servants around, just a girl about Bai Qingyu's age attending to them. 0

"What's going on? Same old routine?" Bai Qingyu asked with a smile. When she received no response from Li Li, she turned to Chen Rui and smiled at him while blinking twice. 0

What do you want me to say? This is my first time here; I don't know anything—what good would asking me do? 0

Li Li glanced at Chen Rui and seeing his bewilderment shook her head with a sigh. "Yeah, same old routine. But we haven't had lunch yet; let's speed things up." 0

"Haha! When has it ever been different? You're always the one dragging things out with 'one more round' or 'let's do it again.' If you didn't keep stalling, I promise we'd finish quickly," Bai Qingyu teased Li Li directly, who merely smiled in response. 0

"Then let's hurry up! I can't wait any longer; I've been too restricted back home to have any fun." Zhou Zhi rubbed his hands together excitedly and was the first to follow Bai Qingyu into the main hall. 0

The group followed Bai Qingyu into the basement through the storage room in the kitchen. The basement was very simple, with unpainted walls, giving off a serious military vibe. 0

Upon entering the basement, there were no electronic locks or sophisticated security systems as one might expect; instead, there was just a heavy iron door with a welded bolt, and it was unclear if there was even a chain. 0

Not only Chen Rui but everyone else was puzzled. Zhou Yan asked, "Since you went through the trouble of creating a basement, why not install a lock? Wouldn't that be safer?" 0

Bai Qingyu clenched his fist and lightly tapped Zhou Yan, playfully scolding him, "Are you stupid? If not many people know about this basement, why would you want to put in an upscale door and lock? Now even if people didn’t know before, they will realize it! Oh! So it turns out the Bai family has some secrets after all... that’s just asking for trouble." 0

"Indeed," Li Li nodded as he looked around the basement. "Since not many people know about it, there's no need to draw attention to it. We wouldn't want anyone to trace back to us." 0

There was no light switch in the basement. Bai Qingyu directly pulled down the power switch. The previously pitch-black basement was instantly illuminated by ten giant lights, making it as bright as day. Chen Rui instinctively raised his hand to shield his eyes from the intense brightness. 0

When he opened his eyes again, Chen Rui's expression turned cold as he felt a chill run down his spine; cold sweat began to bead on his back. The entire basement had been transformed into a comprehensive training room. Besides the weapons storage area, there were standard target areas, moving targets, and even a QB simulation room. Above the weapons storage area hung a large LCD screen connected to closed-circuit surveillance cameras monitoring each section. 0

"My goodness," Chen Rui whispered. He wasn't sure what kind of responsibilities came with having such facilities in America, but if this were discovered back home, there would be no escaping severe consequences—he might even be shot on sight. 0

"Don't worry; aside from the basement, everything else here has been built by me and Lolo with our own hands. We've chosen older equipment; even the monitors are ordinary LCDs. There's basically no chance of information leaking," Bai Qingyu said with a smile, clearly noticing Chen Rui's concerns. 0

Chen Rui turned to look at Lolo. With her chestnut-colored long hair, wide-brimmed hat, and large sunglasses, only the lower half of her face and her figure were visible. Even so, it was hard to hide her charm; however, that wasn't what worried Chen Rui. 0

"Luo Dong, from Beijing," Lolo said in Mandarin with a distinct Beijing accent, clearly picking up on Chen Rui's unease. 0

Since she was also Chinese, there was naturally less to worry about. Anyone who could settle here alongside Bai Qingyu likely had deep ties back home; otherwise, they wouldn't have traveled so far to serve someone unrelated. 0

"Alright, enough talk; let’s get started," Zhou Zhi urged with a smile as he donned his gear. 0

Chen Rui glanced at Zhou Zhi's outfit. It looked chaotic yet somehow impeccable; his sportswear was tucked under tactical straps. He already wore an eye mask and earplugs. The elbow and knee pads were somewhat obscured by his sportswear but were secured well. With that 17 in his hand, he looked like a military contractor ready for action if he switched into combat gear. 0

"Get lost! Using this gun for a hundred-meter target is ridiculous!" Zhou Yan cursed directly, while Zhou Zhi chuckled helplessly. "Come on, what's the point of always using a rifle? Let's switch it up and try something different." 0

"Follow the rules. You can take a shot first, and then we won't have any issues," Qin Xin said with a mischievous smile as she loaded bullets into the magazine. 0

"Get lost, get lost, get lost! Don't bring that up with me; it's so annoying." Zhou Zhi returned to the ammunition storage area and awkwardly switched to a domestically produced Type 95 rifle, sighing in complaint, "Sister-in-law, can't you get a few Type 05s or 9s for us to play with? What's the point of just this lousy gun?" 0

Bai Qingyu giggled as she approached Zhou Zhi, her jade fingers, adorned with tactical gloves, gently lifting his chin. She smiled alluringly, embodying a complete seductress. "Brother, if you can get those two types of guns, even just one of each, I’ll let you have some fun. How about it?" 0

Zhou Zhi laughed and swatted away the seductress's hand, grinning. "Sister, I wish I could, but I'm afraid someone might disagree. Besides, how could I have such capabilities? You think too highly of me. Why don't you lower your expectations a bit? I wouldn't mind just playing for one night." 0

"Hehe, you're so naughty, brother. But remember to look around before you speak," Bai Qingyu said with a laugh as she walked away, leaving Zhou Zhi still in shock. 0

Look around? What the hell? What’s that noise behind me? "Hey hey hey... Mr. Li! Mr. Li! Let’s talk this out. As they say, nothing beats dumplings for taste and nothing beats a sister-in-law for fun... Ugh! You heard wrong! How could I be such an upright person and flirt with my sister-in-law? Are you... Hey hey hey! A gentleman uses words, not fists! Ouch!" 0

Watching Zhou Zhi being tormented by Li Li was so amusing that Chen Rui couldn't help but laugh as he walked over to the ammunition storage area. He was immediately struck by the sight of many historical firearms on display, including several recently retired famous guns like the domestically produced Type 95, Type 97, 74, SG55, and even some heavy sniper rifles like AS5 and AF17. 0

"This could be a firearms exhibition," Chen Rui marveled at the wall lined with various weapons. 0

Li Li walked over with a smile and picked up a Type 95 rifle. "I would love to do that; it's just that I’m afraid the government wouldn’t agree. If they don’t agree and start checking my water meter at home, that would be a real hassle. Hurry up; we’re waiting on you." 0

Chen Rui looked around and realized that aside from himself and Luo Dong, everyone else was already prepared at the shooting window for the hundred-meter target. 0

He took out a Type 95 rifle and removed the magazine. Quickly loading bullets from the ammunition box into the loader, he filled several magazines with hundreds of rounds in just a few seconds. 0

After securing an armed belt and inserting the extra magazines into their slots, he loaded his magazine and donned his goggles and earplugs before sprinting towards the others. 0

Seeing Chen Rui give a thumbs-up as he reached the shooting window, Luo Dong approached the control panel and spoke into the microphone. Instantly, a crisp youthful voice echoed through the speakers: "Attention everyone! Round one: hundred-meter fixed target, free shooting ten rounds. Prepare—start!" 0

"Bang, bang, bang, bang..." As the words began to echo, everyone instinctively pulled the trigger. Each person adjusted to semi-automatic fire mode, careful not to accidentally unleash a burst of shots that would be truly embarrassing. 0

Gradually, the basement fell silent again. Chen Rui saw them walking toward the control panel and also disengaged the safety on his gun, heading toward the panel. 0

"Number one, Qin Xin, eighty points." Qin Xin sighed lightly, a bitter smile on her face as she self-deprecatingly remarked, "Still not good enough." 0

Chen Rui was taken aback. One hundred meters was neither too close nor too far, but this group was not trained soldiers; they were just ordinary civilians. Achieving an average score of eight points per shot was already quite impressive. 0

"Number two, Wang Xinzhuo, eighty-five points." 0

"Number three, Zhou Yan, eighty-two points." 0

"Number four, Li Xue, eighty-nine points." 0

At this point, Chen Rui was drenched in cold sweat. Although this group's shooting skills couldn't be considered exceptional, they were definitely on par with an average soldier with a year of service. What kind of threat did such marksmanship pose when wielded by civilians? And not just any civilians—wealthy ones! 0

"Number five, Bai Qingyu, eighty-seven points." 0

"Number six, Zhou Zhi, ninety-three points." 0

"Number seven, Li Li, ninety-three points." 0

"Number eight, Chen Rui, one hundred points." 0
