"You bastards!!!" Before even stepping inside, Chen Rui heard the fox's howl. As the iron door swung open, a heavy scent of alcohol rushed out. Chen Rui frowned slightly; logically, one should never drink when deep behind enemy lines. However, he knew they would likely come up with various excuses to cover it up, so he kept his mouth shut.
Tiger and White Wolf were dragging the fox toward the bedroom. The fox was clearly quite drunk, a charming flush spreading across his handsome face, making him look even more appealing.
Chen Rui slapped his forehead a few times. What was going on? Bai was actually into a guy? Could it be that he was also like Li Li? Drunk, drunk...
This didn’t really surprise Chen Rui. The fox had a rather androgynous appearance, almost feminine in nature. Although his time in the special forces had affected him somewhat, it couldn’t hide his striking features that could make any man weak in the knees.
Coupled with his slender build, if he put on long hair without any makeup, he would completely resemble a beautiful Asian girl.
Many people believed that special forces should look like Dwayne Johnson or Vin Diesel—muscular and built like tanks.
But that wasn’t necessarily the best choice. A true combat warrior wouldn’t resemble a wrestler or boxer covered in bulging muscles.
Those who had been forged through rigorous death training often had an appearance similar to ordinary people and were exceptionally lean. However, their tightly honed muscles could unleash tremendous explosive power, far surpassing that of a boxer's punch.
Moreover, this physique allowed for high combat efficiency while also possessing agility and strong endurance—qualities that those bulkier individuals often lacked. These factors frequently determined the success or failure of missions.
A former Delta team member inadvertently revealed during an interview that their physical training requirements included being able to sprint thirty thousand meters and still have enough stamina for level-one combat afterward.
What level one combat entailed was unknown, but the fact that they required operatives to be capable of fighting after such a long run clearly demonstrated Delta's strict standards for endurance. Although they rarely needed such skills, it ensured that this unit could maintain formidable combat power even without supplies or rest.
Tiger and White Wolf emerged from the room and nodded at Elephant General and the big dog carrying large bags before turning their attention to Chen Rui.
Chen Rui understood their intent. Although he didn’t want to see them "messing around" with the fox, this plan was his idea; avoiding it now would be too irresponsible.
With a resigned sigh, he followed everyone into the bedroom. The fox lay half-conscious on the bed, kicking off the covers. It seemed he had indeed been heavily intoxicated. However, Chen Rui began to worry; generally speaking, individuals who underwent rigorous training would have some resistance to alcohol, and special forces members were no exception. To get a Special Forces Soldier this drunk made Chen Rui genuinely concerned that they might have overdone it and left the fox unable to wake up.
Elephant General seemed to have guessed what Chen Rui was thinking. He smiled and patted him on the shoulder. "Don't worry, that guy Fox can't hold his liquor. Even he is just like an ordinary person; one jin is already his limit, so he won't be passed out for good."
"That's good to hear." Chen Rui chuckled, looking at the five people who were frozen in place. He asked curiously, "What are you all doing? Do I have to do it myself…?"
Tiger chuckled lightly. "It's not that; I'm just afraid that what we come up with will look terrible, so we're waiting for your instructions. After all, we've never done this kind of thing before."
Chen Rui was taken aback, raising an eyebrow as he shouted at the five in front of him, "Do you think I've done this before? Stop wasting time and get to work! If he wakes up from his drunken state later, just wait and see how you handle it!"
With Chen Rui's shout, the five hurriedly dumped a large bag of items onto the bed. Chen Rui shook his head as he looked at the pile. Various designer clothes and expensive luxury items were all there, from head to toe; he couldn't help but wonder where they had gotten the money and whether it was safe.
Although Fox was in a dazed state, he was still trained, and his body instinctively took defensive actions. This caught White Wolf off guard, who received a punch in return. Angered, White Wolf wanted to retaliate against Fox but was stopped by the others who were laughing. The chaotic scene made Chen Rui both amused and exasperated; after all, these were supposed to be his juniors. Yet here they were, trained into killing machines for their country. Such a scene was indeed rare.
Due to Fox's extreme lack of cooperation, it took them about a quarter of an hour to finally get him dressed. He was wearing a formal evening gown, but since he was still dazed and rolling around on the bed, at first glance, he looked like a disheveled mess.
Chen Rui couldn't help but burst into laughter, and soon the others joined in as they saw his expression.
Elephant General was the first to stop laughing, saying with a smirk, "No matter what, the allure is certainly on par with his nickname. Truly a fox spirit. As for his identity, I'll leave that to you to sort out."
Chen Rui nodded with a smile. Looking at Fox's face gave him a sense of familiarity that he couldn't quite place. "Hmm, I'll try my best to arrange a suitable identity for him. But what kind of identity would suit him best?"
Tiger picked up the conversation with a grin. "Come on, what kind of identity could match a Special Forces operative? Of course, it has to be something athletic."
That was obvious enough; however, athletes were well-known figures and it would be difficult to fabricate an identity for them.
Suddenly, Chen Rui thought of someone and quickly muttered to himself, "Yu Mingming! Hurry and get Yuki Chiba's photo onto my phone."
The voice of Yu Mingming echoed in his ears, "Which phone of yours? Is it the one next to me?"
"Bastard!" Chen Rui shouted loudly, startling everyone with his sudden outburst. Given that things were going smoothly, there shouldn't have been anything to provoke such anger.
Chen Rui pulled out his phone and opened the photo gallery. Sure enough, a picture of Yuki Chiba appeared on the screen.
He hurriedly led everyone back to the bedroom, placing the phone next to the face of the drunken woman and asked with a smile, "Do these two look alike?"
In the photo, the girl was wearing a trench coat, standing on a golden street paved with sycamore leaves, her smile radiant and far more charming than the disheveled woman before them.
However, upon closer inspection, there was indeed a resemblance between the two faces. The main reason they seemed different was that the woman in front lacked the pure aura that the girl in the photo possessed; instead, she exuded a heavy scent of alcohol.
"Looking closely, they do resemble each other. Who is this?" Elephant General pointed at Yuki Chiba and asked.
"She's a friend of mine, Japanese, currently living in Las Vegas. She's a writer whose hobbies include writing, racing cars, and playing baseball," Chen Rui replied with a grin.
Lion Brother scrutinized the photo and asked, "Can we trust her? What’s her background?"
"No need to trust her; she won't even know about this. We just need to borrow her identity. She's just an unknown writer, but her father is the head of a real estate conglomerate," Chen Rui said as he put his phone away. "That guy rarely goes out and keeps hours according to Japanese time, so we don't have to worry too much about exposing our identities. We just need to deal with that George quickly and then get our equipment."
"Then you'll handle the identity forgery and invitation letter. It would be best if we could blend in as well; having backup would be ideal. But..." Elephant General's words were cut off by Chen Rui.
Chen Rui waved his hand dismissively. "No problem with the invitation letter; I will attend that gala as well. However, I can't provide direct support for you all during or after that event. So you should come up with your own action plan. Time's almost up; I have to go now. If you need to contact me, call this number three times. I won't answer for the first two calls; hang up after the fourth ring, and then I'll pick up."
Chen Rui pulled out a note from his pocket and handed it to Elephant General. "Remember to burn it after reading." He then put on his hat and walked out the door.
Elephant General glanced at the string of numbers on the note, imprinting them in his mind before crumpling the paper and tossing it into the bathroom drain.
“Elephant General, are we... being too cautious?” Tiger asked hesitantly. “He trusts us so much; are we going a bit overboard?”
Elephant General smiled lightly, a hint of disdain crossing his face. “Don't be ridiculous. His behavior is just a way of venting his dissatisfaction.”
“Huh?” Tiger shook his head, not quite understanding Elephant General's words.
“Anyway, the priority now is to turn that guy into a pure girl,” Lion Brother said, struggling to suppress his laughter.
Tiger walked into the bedroom, looking at the still-dazed fox and chuckled helplessly. “If we want to have a touch of purity, we need to wake him up first. Who knows what will happen after that.”
Elephant General put on an imposing demeanor with great effort. “So what? He has to wake up sooner or later. Are we supposed to let him stay drunk at that... party?”
Watching Elephant General prepare to remove the fox's clothing, the remaining four felt an urge to pull out their phones and capture this sacred moment, but they were deterred by Elephant General's murderous glare.
As Elephant General was about to take off the fox's evening gown to change him into casual clothes, Lion Brother quickly reached out to stop him and smiled slightly. “I think it’s better for him to wake up like this for the next part of the process.”
Elephant General immediately understood Lion Brother's implication and couldn't help but laugh. “Alright then, if the fox asks who did this later, it’ll be all on you.”
“Why!” Lion Brother exploded. “We all did it together; why am I taking the blame alone?”
“Because it was your idea for the second time.”
