"Ah, those bastards!" The Fox shook her head, feeling a lingering heaviness, though her thoughts were starting to clear up.
The slight numbness in her hands reminded her that the alcohol had indeed taken a toll on her body. If a fight were to break out soon, it wouldn't bode well.
Outside the window, the light was beginning to fade. The Fox rolled out of bed and stumbled over to the window, frowning at the setting sun. It seemed like she had been drinking with them since noon. It appeared she had slept through the entire afternoon—those jerks!
The polished glass reflected a striking beauty dressed in an evening gown, standing awkwardly in the chaotic room.
Who! The Fox quickly turned around but found no one there. She furrowed her brow; she had definitely seen a woman in the reflection—someone she had never encountered before. This was extremely dangerous, as it meant that individuals akin to agents were aware of this place…
A chill ran down her shoulders as she suddenly realized her arms were exposed. This outfit was definitely not what she had been wearing earlier…
"You bastards!!!"
The Fox's furious shout echoed through the bedroom, causing everyone in the living room to pause their activities. Each person's lips curled into a quick smirk before returning to their usual expressions.
"Looks like she's awake," Tiger remarked nonchalantly.
"Of course, with such a commotion, how could it be anything else?" Lion Brother chuckled lightly while continuing to sip his coffee and watch television.
With a loud bang, the wooden door of the bedroom was kicked open forcefully, accompanied by the crisp sound of fabric tearing.
"My dear sister, do you have any idea how much that dress costs?" Tiger said mournfully.
"You jerk!" The Fox dashed over to Tiger as if her tail had been stepped on, kicking at the spot where he had just been lounging on the couch.
Tiger ducked behind Lion Brother's couch, smiling wryly. "Sister, if you kick me in the chest like that, I won't be able to stay here any longer. You should hurry to the hospital and get treated before heading back home. As for that dress, don’t worry about compensating me; consider it my gift to you—a red envelope to calm your anger."
The Fox had intended to rush forward and strike him, but was halted by a single phrase from the Elephant General: "Fox, enough."
The Fox sat helplessly on the sand, his eyes slightly red, biting his lip tightly, fists clenched with great intensity. Coupled with the evening gown that had been forcibly torn apart, he still bore a hint of a spoiled princess's demeanor, though it seemed to have been somewhat tidied up.
"This is all for the mission," the Elephant General said earnestly as he walked over to the Fox and patted his shoulder. "For the country, you need to endure for now."
The Fox weakly acknowledged with a sound, yielding faster than everyone had anticipated.
"Now let's get you changed; this is quite the waste of public funds," the Elephant General joked, pointing at the ruined evening gown on the Fox.
"This idea simply won't work!" The Fox made one last attempt at resistance. "Even if you make me look more like a woman, as soon as I open my mouth, it will all be exposed."
Everyone fell into deep thought once again. Indeed, this was a serious issue; even though the Fox's Adam's apple wasn't very prominent, his voice was unmistakably not that of a woman, and that couldn't be changed—everything else would be in vain.
"Let's call him," Lion Brother said with a wry smile. If this problem wasn't resolved, there was no point in continuing.
The Elephant General helplessly took out his phone. He hadn't expected to have to call him again just a few hours after he had left; it was quite embarrassing.
Following Chen Rui's instructions, he had hung up after four rings during the first two calls and was supposed to try again on the third.
"Beep—beep—" Once again, there was no answer. The Elephant General frowned slightly; logically speaking, after three attempts he should have answered by now, yet Chen Rui still hadn't picked up.
"Hello?" Finally, a calm voice came through on the other end—it was indeed Chen Rui. He answered just before the call was about to disconnect.
"What happened in just a few hours?" Chen Rui's voice was very calm, lacking the tension often portrayed by agents in movies when making calls.
Elephant General glanced at the fox and finally spoke, "It's about your plan. There's one question: what about his voice?"
Chen Rui suddenly laughed. "Oh right, that's a bit tricky. Ask him if he would be willing to use a young girl's voice from now on."
Elephant General looked at the fox again, sighed, and fell silent.
"Well, I'll think of another way. But you all need to prepare quickly. By the way, I'll send you that girl's photo. Remember, it doesn't have to look exactly like her. Please, you have three days."
Chen Rui decisively hung up the phone. Elephant General stood dazed next to the fox, staring at his former comrade who had once entrusted him with his back, unable to find the words.
"It seems I can't escape this fate," the fox said with a self-deprecating smile, as if he had already guessed something.
Elephant General found it hard to speak; after all, matters of a lifelong nature should not be taken lightly. If this were truly to happen, it would change the fox's life forever.
The fox smiled brightly. "Let me guess, that Liaison Officer is probably like this: there’s no temporary way to change his voice, but... there is a lifelong solution."
"Fox..." Elephant General sighed helplessly. Such matters often require the person involved to make their own decisions for others to feel at ease. If it were enforced by order, it would be a crime!
"Hmph!" The fox stood up and walked into the bedroom, jokingly saying, "Then wouldn't I be a sissy for life?"
His words made the five people in the living room laugh, but as they laughed, their eyes began to redden. Based on the fox's tone, he had basically agreed; if this were truly to happen, then his second half of life...
"Don't think about the future yet; let's first consider whether we can take down that Nuclear Control Center." The fox's words addressed the real concern of everyone present. Everything they were doing was aimed at ensuring the mission could be completed smoothly; if the mission failed, then all further discussions would be meaningless.
Suddenly, Elephant General's phone rang. An encrypted multimedia message came through, displaying a photo of a girl smiling radiantly.
Comparing the photo on his phone with his reflection in the mirror, the Fox smiled lightly and teased the five people beside him, "You really look alike. Just take a look; whether as a man or pretending to be a woman, I'm outstanding. And look at you all, what a mess."
Due to Yuki Chiba's professional obligations, the Fox's outfit for the party was quickly decided: a khaki trench coat, a white Bape shirt, blue Levi's jeans, and white sneakers from Neverse.
He embodied the ideal image of a proud young lady from a wealthy family, maintaining a certain status while still exuding an air of innocence. Compared to the photo of Yuki Chiba, he was equally impressive. Most importantly, this outfit concealed any scars on the Fox's body.
"Well, this is about eighty percent similar. If she were my sister, I could totally believe it," Tiger said, nodding with a smile as he looked at the beauty before him.
Elephant General countered as usual, "Not enough. What we need is a complete restoration of Yuki Chiba. If that's the case, it should be at least ninety percent similar. With just the clothing similarities, it's only about eighty percent; there's still some gap."
White Wolf stepped forward and pinched the Fox's cheek with a mischievous grin. "I think this face doesn't differ much from Yuki Chiba. Why do you all only think it's eighty percent similar?"
"Charm," Lion Brother said dismissively, giving him a sidelong glance. He watched as the Fox's fist landed on White Wolf's head but didn't bother to remind him; after all, he brought it upon himself.
"Right, overall, Fox, you still lack that feminine charm. Your every move screams 'big man'," Elephant General pointed out immediately.
The Fox shot Elephant General an annoyed look and flicked his bangs. Ever since joining the military, he had said goodbye to his bangs and hadn't played around like this in ages.
Tiger tried to mediate, "Charm isn't innate; it's cultivated over time. So we can't blame him for not having it yet. At least we still have three hours."
Elephant General nodded and glanced at the Fox with a slight smile creeping onto his lips.
Seeing that terrifying grin from Elephant General again made the Fox uneasy; he instinctively took a step back. "Elephant General, I'm still a man."
Elephant General laughed in exasperation and waved his hand dismissively. "Then let's take this brother out for dinner now; it's just right to practice your charm."
"I'll change my clothes..." The Fox was about to slip into the bedroom, but how could Elephant General let him go? With a wave of his hand, Tiger and White Wolf lifted the Fox and carried him outside.
"You beast." The Fox was dragged out of his home, tears in his eyes. The six of them walked onto the brightly lit street, filled with laughter and chatter.

Chen Rui shook his head. This was the first time he had encountered such absurdity. However, it was only because of his strange thoughts; a battle-hardened Special Forces soldier could still possess such handsome features. It was hard to imagine if he hadn't seen it with his own eyes.
"Boss, this is their instructor, the seventh Dreamer for this mission: Colonel Fan Yu." Peng Hao led a nearly forty-year-old colonel to Chen Rui. Upon seeing Chen Rui, the colonel immediately stood at attention and saluted with a standard military gesture.
Chen Rui was not an active-duty soldier, so he couldn't return the salute. He simply said lightly, "Is there something you need, Colonel? According to the plan, you should have entered the dream after six o'clock."
The colonel smiled and casually sat down on a nearby chair. "I just wanted to see what kind of person could write such a script."
"The script wasn't written by me; it was based on the outline you provided. I just had my subordinates make some modifications. I'm merely an executor, nothing more," Chen Rui shook his head helplessly. According to this colonel's logic, he would most likely want to meet Xiong Kai.
The colonel waved his hand dismissively. "No, no, no. I want to meet you. For someone to make my subordinates so polite, you must be quite extraordinary."
"It's just my background identity. They think that identity is great, not that I am great."
The colonel stared into Chen Rui's eyes, a smile playing on his lips. "Really... is that so?"
