"That bastard," White Wolf muttered with a laugh as he dragged two white boxes into the Nuclear Control Center. The area had been bombarded by the portable Missile system brought by Chen Rui, leaving the entire Nuclear Control Center and Ground Base in ruins.
Fortunately, the fierce artillery support had made it easier for Elephant General and his team; otherwise, capturing this base would have come at a great cost.
White Wolf surveyed the surroundings, littered with corpses and weapon fragments. After some thought, he decided to place one Machine Gun on top of a 1A tank and the other behind the Silo.
This setup would create a shocking visual effect for the enemy, allowing for crossfire angles. If they couldn't take out these two Machine Guns, entering through the main gate would come at a heavy price.
White Wolf quickly climbed onto another 1A tank and activated it using his Tactical Tablet. Since this tank hadn't been directly hit, its Fire Control System was still operational. However, due to blast damage, the left track was severed, the drive wheel was severely damaged, and the idler wheel was completely destroyed—repairs would take time.
"It's just like an English exam," White Wolf said with a wry smile as he operated the fire control computer. The interface displayed no icons—only English letters. Fortunately, his English was excellent, and he understood the technical terms well enough to quickly switch the tank to combat mode and access the targeting screen.
Now even those who didn't understand English could operate it; following the crosshair on the screen, the computer would automatically measure the distance to the target and adjust the aiming interface accordingly.
White Wolf aimed the cannon at the base's entrance, perched atop the tank as he looked down its barrel. A smirk crept onto his face. "Come on, you bastards! Bring it on!"
Meanwhile, Chen Rui crouched low as he sprinted through the forest. He needed to keep himself at least five hundred meters away from the road while finding a spot with a wide shooting angle, so he wandered through the trees.
Suddenly, his Tactical Tablet beeped loudly at his waist. Chen Rui stopped in his tracks and crouched down. Opening the tablet revealed enemy figures on the screen.
The images were transmitted from a camera mounted on a Ferrari. As Chen Rui expected, after being attacked here, it wasn't regular troops that appeared first but rather FBI agents and SWAT teams. Their dark blue armored vehicles and pure black Chevrolet boldly announced their identities. The four helicopters overhead painted in black and white bore striking insignias.
In less than twenty minutes, local FBI agents had arrived on scene. Considering their preparation time, their vehicles must have been traveling at least sixty miles per hour; clearly, they understood this location's significance despite not knowing what exactly was hidden here.
The nearest military base was over one hundred thirty kilometers away. Even if special forces were immediately dispatched via helicopter, it would take more than half an hour to arrive—far slower than local law enforcement, which was one of their most advantageous conditions for this operation.
If the Enemy Special Forces arrived and the Elephant General and his team had not yet gained control of the nuclear launch authority, it meant their mission had already failed.
Chen Rui immediately issued a command on the Tactical Tablet to the computer-operated Ferrari. The V1's powerful engine roared to life, quickly entering the red zone.
Seconds later, the brakes released automatically, and the Ferrari shot forward like an arrow, shifting gears rapidly. The speedometer climbed quickly past 100, and just as it was about to reach 300 kilometers per hour, the Ferrari collided with a Len Beara multi-purpose armored vehicle at the front of the police car convoy.
The speed of 300 kilometers per hour left the police convoy no time to react as the Ferrari crashed directly into the armored vehicle.
This was undoubtedly like using an egg to hit a rock. However, at the moment of impact with the Len Beara, a massive explosion erupted, lifting the armored vehicle and smashing it into a Black Chevrolet behind it.
The nearly six-ton weight of the Len Beara was certainly not something an ordinary car could withstand. As a result, two vehicles and over ten officers from the police convoy were taken out in that instant.
Hearing the distant sounds of car engines, explosions, and helicopter rotors, White Wolf quickly pulled out the infrared activation device that Chen Rui had given him, preparing to aim at the helicopter squad that had arrived first.
The road connecting the Nuclear Control Center to the main highway was narrow; only one vehicle could pass through at a time. Due to the collision between the Len Beara and Chevrolet, the convoy was temporarily unable to advance. They would have to wait for another Len Beara to crash into the wreckage of those two vehicles to clear a path, but that would waste too much time and resources.
"Everyone get out! Move forward on foot!" shouted a commander-like figure from atop a Chevrolet SUV. With only a short distance remaining to the Nuclear Control Center, waiting for the Len Beara to clear the way would be too time-consuming. To provide timely support for the Nuclear Control Center, this commander made a decisive call.
Nearly two hundred personnel poured out from various vehicles, checked their weapons, and began sprinting toward the Nuclear Control Center.
Four helicopters had already arrived above the Nuclear Control Center, dropping ropes as A Team members prepared to rappel down.
"Want to come down? Fine! Then come down!" White Wolf activated automatic machine guns set up on the Silo and another platform using infrared targeting, aiming directly at those A Team members preparing to descend.
The firepower network formed by two groups immediately struck those A Team members at the helicopter door. Armor-piercing rounds ruthlessly tore through their bulletproof vests, sending four bodies crashing to the ground.
The situation was dire. They immediately prepared to ascend and retreat, but one of the 17's Anti-Aircraft Machine Guns roared to life. The power of its 17mm bullets was more than double that of the 76mm rounds. In an instant, one helicopter exploded in mid-air, its wreckage plummeting into the forest outside the base.
The remaining helicopter pilots sensed the danger and desperately pulled back on their flight controls. Even so, White Wolf managed to shoot down another helicopter. After all, the explosive power of the 17 was overwhelming, and it was all too easy for the 14 to hit a Fuel Tank.
In a flash, they had lost two helicopters, one A Team Member, and four pilots. It was clear they wouldn't be attempting an aerial assault anytime soon. White Wolf set down the Machine Gun and dove into the tank, refocusing on the screen of the Fire Control System.
Sure enough, it wasn't long before a group dressed in Four-Color Camouflage and Khaki Bulletproof Vests, armed with standard-issue Carbines, crept cautiously into the Nuclear Control Center. The pLIe insignia on their chests and the FBI or SA markings on their shoulders or backs indicated they were far from ordinary patrol officers; they were highly combat-capable.
White Wolf held his fire, exercising patience before taking action. The thermal imaging systems on the two 14 Machine Guns detected the approaching enemies. Once they lowered their barrels to aim, they unleashed a barrage at the intruders entering through the main door.
The sudden metal storm claimed the lives of two front-line attackers instantly. The remaining members quickly reacted, seeking cover in various corners to evade gunfire.
Although the firepower from the 14 was intense, the walls of the military base were not easily penetrated by 76 armor-piercing rounds. Thus, despite appearing ferocious, their firepower could not inflict serious damage.
The FBI and A Team were efficient counter-terrorism units; they would not be caught off guard in such situations. Almost immediately, someone threw smoke grenades and distraction devices, indicating they would soon breach the Machine Gun's defenses.
White Wolf opened the safety cover on his control stick and swiftly pressed the red button.
A 14 Grenade landed precisely at the entrance of the base, right in the center of the smoke.
The violent explosion obliterated enemies at ground zero, while those nearby were hurled several meters away by the tremendous shockwave. The first wave of attackers was decimated in an instant.
The loading system allowed shells to be loaded in under a second, creating excellent sustained fire pressure. However, both Ammunition and barrels could not withstand continuous firing for long periods, and even so, the enemy was stunned by this ferocious display of firepower.
While the explosion couldn't completely eliminate thermal imaging interference, it had at least dispersed most of the smoke. With just their enemy identification systems and standard cameras, they could now provide visibility for the 14 Machine Guns.
At the same time, five hundred meters south of the White Wolf:
Chen Rui finally found a more ideal shooting position, one that was hard to expose yet allowed him to directly target the entire main gate of the base.
After quickly setting up the 17, he aimed at the enemy personnel lying in the trenches on both sides of the road. The 17 was designed to strike enemy forces at long distances, primarily targeting aircraft, light armored vehicles, and communication equipment. It was quite rare to use it against ordinary soldiers.
"Bang!" The massive muzzle flash and sound of the 17 immediately broke the silence of the forest, but far away, five hundred meters out, the FBI and A Team Members remained unaware.
A brass bullet pierced through countless trees, accurately hitting one of the A Team Members' helmets. The projectile struck the team member's head with such force that he was knocked into the middle of the road, lying lifeless there.
"Alert! Watch your right!!!" The Police Commander quickly ducked behind a tree, not daring to expose himself.
"Bang!" A 14 grenade flew out from the base, heading straight for the junction where the road met the edge of the forest...
