The office building, which appeared somewhat distant, was actually not far from the dormitory. After all, most of the land was filled with cherry blossom trees, leaving very little usable area.
Chen Rui and his companions walked for less than ten minutes before arriving at the fifteen-story office building. The building was quite simple; if it weren't for the surrounding cherry blossoms that looked like clouds and mist, one would hardly recognize its high value.
At the entrance of the building, there was still a Guard Room. However, compared to the large Guard Room at the campus entrance, this one was much more streamlined, resembling a sentry post.
The security guard approached politely. After Chen Rui and his companions presented their identification, the guard reported to his superior via an internal phone and then escorted them to the fifteenth floor of the office building.
"Why is there no room number?" Gao Zhijie asked with a smile. "Could it be that there's only one room on the entire fifteenth floor?"
After Gao Zhijie finished speaking, he suddenly noticed that both Chen Rui and Ruan Yu were silently looking at him. He awkwardly chuckled, "How could that be? This building only has fifteen floors, so surely the fifteenth floor must be..."
"Ding..." The elevator arrived at the fifteenth floor. Chen Rui sighed and shook his head silently. Ruan Yu patted Gao Zhijie's shoulder and said with a wry smile, "Don't mind me; as your colleague, I truly feel embarrassed for your intelligence!"
"Hey?!" Gao Zhijie replied indignantly. "What do you two mean by that? I'm just... my brain..."
"Oh, you guys are here?" A man in a gray casual shirt greeted them while lowering the speed on the treadmill he had just stepped off.
"Hello," Ruan Yu said politely as he walked up to the man and shook his hand.
"Hello," Gao Zhijie quickly followed behind Ruan Yu and greeted him with a smile.
"Is it really you?!" Chen Rui exclaimed in surprise.
The three had two completely different reactions to this man who seemed like he had just graduated from university. Chen Rui's reaction clearly indicated that he recognized him and was not unfamiliar with him.
"Why wouldn't it be me?" Li Li sat down at a desk by the window and lit a cigarette. "You should think a bit; who else in China besides me could afford such luxury?"
"You really aren't humble at all," Chen Rui said with a wry smile. The moment he saw Li Li, he couldn't help but suspect that Li Xue had once again convinced her brother to find a way to keep him around, resulting in this situation.
Li Li exhaled a smoke ring. "Don't think too much! Our school's contract with the city was established two years ago, right from the start of the trial phase. Every year, we send a varying number of staff to give our graduating students their last lesson before entering society."
Hearing this from Li Li, Chen Rui relaxed and naturally sat down on the sofa opposite her. "So, you knew about the Dream World Project from the beginning?"
"Of course! When the Chinese Government wants to raise funds, who do you think they should approach first? Do you think I wanted this? I'm actually the largest individual sponsor of the Dream World Project! I couldn't care less about your ridiculous Member system," Li Li scoffed, tossing a stack of documents onto the desk. The four black characters on the top page stood out glaringly: Dream World Project.
"Alright, let's get down to business. Aren't you the principal? What about the classes we're in charge of? We need to see some materials," Chen Rui interrupted their casual chat and shifted to the main topic.
"I don't handle that; you should talk to the Vice Principal. He’s in charge of school matters," Li Li pointed to a middle-aged man in a black suit standing nearby. Due to his low presence and Chen Rui's earlier distraction with Li Li, he had completely overlooked that there was a fifth person on the fifteenth floor.
The middle-aged man slightly bowed to Chen Rui and his companions and said calmly, "I am Guo Tong, the Executive Vice Principal. Since the principal has been away from school for an extended period, I am responsible for the school's specific affairs."
This statement gave Chen Rui a sense that even though Guo Tong was familiar with Li Li, he still had to listen to him regarding school matters.
"This year's graduating class is smaller than usual, with only three classes, so we only invited three representatives," Guo Tong said as he handed three folders to Chen Rui and his companions.
The folder Ruan Yu received was labeled "Jinghua University Level 4 Class One" in black ink, while Gao Zhijie and Chen Rui held folders marked "Jinghua University Level 4 Class Two" and "Jinghua University Level 4 Class Three," respectively.
Gao Zhijie opened his folder and looked at the student information inside. "How were the classes divided? Based on grades, majors, or other criteria?"
Guo Tong smiled. "Our school has only two majors approved by the Ministry of Education, which are mandatory: Business Management and Management Psychology. In fact, majors do not affect specific teaching; all teaching policies, methods, and directions are arranged by the professors."
"Moreover, our school rarely conducts assessments; there is usually only one comprehensive evaluation at the end of each semester, and its results are not disclosed to students but reported only to their parents. Classes are divided based on reporting times; Class One and Class Two consist of students who reported in the first half and second half respectively, while Class Three is made up of latecomers."
The teaching system at this school is quite different from that of a typical university. There are no specific major courses; only the professors and students know what is being taught, and assessments likely involve non-written tests.
As a result, students who graduate from here may not excel in written exams, but their execution skills, management abilities, and social skills are often a cut above their peers.
In essence, the university's goal is not merely to impart knowledge but to cultivate individuals. Only by becoming an adult can one truly achieve success!
This is precisely why so many wealthy individuals are willing to send their children here for education. Spending four years transforming a boy or girl into a man or woman is a deal well worth it.
"Do you understand?" Li Li extinguished his cigarette in the ashtray, grinning mischievously at Chen Rui and the others. "Your task is quite challenging!"
"It seems so," Ruan Yu said with a wry smile, shaking his head. A quick glance at the student profiles made it clear that most of them were not yet ready to become adults.
"I have a question," Gao Zhijie said, closing the student profiles and looking at Li Li.
Li Li nodded. "Go ahead."
"What does this have to do with Dream World? If it has nothing to do with Dream World, then wouldn't it be better to let real teachers conduct the classes?" Gao Zhijie deliberately pushed Li Li to reveal their ultimate purpose for being there.
Li Li smiled. "You must understand that some things are difficult to achieve in the real world."
Chen Rui and the others were taken aback as Li Li continued, "Since the year before last, our school has implemented this program to help graduates truly grow into adults, and the results have been remarkable."
"Sometimes, if you aren't pushed to your limits, you won't realize how much potential you have! It's often in desperate situations that you come to understand just how insignificant you are! Sometimes, only when everyone turns against you do you regret the choices you've made!"
Li Li was somewhat excited; he didn't directly state whether dreams were necessary or what Dream World was for, but his words clearly conveyed his meaning.
"I don't expect you to make them successful, because you can't, or perhaps they are just unpolished gems. Even with the passage of time, they will eventually succeed on their own."
"What I want is for you to accelerate this process, to help them grow up early! To understand what true responsibility is at an early age!" Li Li's voice gradually lowered as she leaned back against her chair, as if recalling some unpleasant memories.
The atmosphere in the room became somewhat awkward. Guo Tong smiled lightly and said, "Let me take you to your office. It's already been tidied up, and you can use it anytime. If you need anything, just let me know."
Guo Tong led Chen Rui and the others out to the giant office on the fifteenth floor, taking the stairs directly down to the fourteenth floor. "The fifteenth floor usually doesn't need to be used; my office is on the thirteenth floor. If you need anything, just come down and find me."
This surprised Chen Rui and his companions. Why was the office of the Vice Principal lower than theirs? Did that mean their rank was higher than that of the Vice Principal?
"Everything is for the students!" Guo Tong said with a smile as he led Chen Rui and his companions into the office located on the fourteenth floor.
The design of the fourteenth floor was similar to that of the fifteenth floor. After exiting the elevator and turning a corner, they found a spacious open Office Hall. It was hard to imagine that such a vast space of thousands of square meters was only occupied by three people.
The bright office featured a long row of beach-themed, technology-themed, and culture-themed areas designed to inspire staff. On the other side was an entertainment area made up of various relaxation zones.
Two-thirds of the entire office space had nothing to do with work, which surprised Chen Rui and his companions. However, they quickly understood; after all, they were tasked with the important mission of transforming a group of boys into men.
Suddenly, a gust of wind blew outside, causing cherry blossoms from the tree to scatter like rain in the air—a beautiful sight.
"Aren't helicopters not allowed to fly?" Gao Zhijie said to Chen Rui, "What is this?"
Chen Rui chuckled bitterly and replied, "She's not a ghost! If you keep this up, Boss Li upstairs will come down and beat you!"
