The bidding conference was held in this meeting room, while at the same time, the Dream World showcase was set to begin from another location. The data from the VR Terminal has been rewritten by our technical department to create this identical version of Dream World."
The game 'World' had earned itself a nickname among players: 'Scenic Area,' which implied beautiful scenery but average gameplay. While this nickname carried no inherent negativity, it nonetheless displeased many members of the Project Team behind 'World.'
However, with the map from 'World' now appearing in Dream World, there was none of that sentiment; if anything could be felt, it was simply this—this is another world!!!
The graphics in 'World' were exquisitely crafted, reaching near perfection for human perception. Thus, adapting it into Dream World was quite straightforward. The key point was that such stunning visuals could be directly compared with what reality offered.
In other words, playing 'World' within Dream World would evoke a genuine sense of crossing into another world—a fantastical experience that felt nothing like playing a game at all.

The twenty participants entering the Dream World were projected into the Rebirth Gate. During the demonstration phase of the Dream World, stock prices reached a peak. Within three hours of live broadcasting from the Dream World, all stocks under Dawn Group approached a state of scarcity; prices were artificially capped! Almost all holders of Dawn stocks withdrew or canceled their listings for sale. This frenzied activity drove global investors into a frenzy and triggered an unprecedented bull market worldwide.
Statistics showed that due to the 'abnormal trading halt' of Dawn stocks at that time, global stock markets—including Nikkei Index, S&P 500 Index, Dow Jones Industrial Average, Financial Times Index, and Shanghai Stock Exchange—rose by an average of seven percent!
What does this mean? It signifies that nearly all publicly traded companies worldwide saw their values increase by seven percent during this period! This event later became known among investors as the 'Dawn Incident,' reflecting both Dawn Group's influence and symbolizing a new dawn for the stock market.
The most captivating aspect that has driven the world wild is the authenticity of the Dream World. After all, it is a realm that feels as real as reality itself, yet free from the constraints of the rules that govern our world, making it hard not to yearn for such an experience.
Once the exhibition concluded, Chen Rui loosened his tie and took the first elevator down to the ground floor after the meeting adjourned. He then walked back to his hotel.
On his way, Chen Rui encountered many local residents and visitors. However, unlike when he arrived, these people couldn't help but steal glances at him.
Though no one said anything, Chen Rui understood that this was their way of questioning him. After all, the difference between machines and humans cannot be bridged merely by appearance. No artificial intelligence had ever reached a level of thought that could truly connect with humanity.
Chen Rui did not return to his team; instead, he went back to the hotel where Li Li was staying. The hotel security did not stop him, but like everyone else, they too couldn't resist looking at him twice.

"Not going back?" Li Li smiled lightly. "It seems you care a little after all."
Chen Rui remained expressionless and replied indifferently, "I don’t mind, but I’m afraid others will look at them the same way they look at me."
"Really don’t mind?" Li Li pulled out two glasses and opened a bottle of Wuliangye, filling both glasses to the brim. He asked with a grin, "Is it really nothing to you? You’re a Cancer; when you say you don’t care, it often means you do! From my perspective, you’re worried that those new friends you’ve finally made will look at you just like everyone else does."
Li Li handed one of the filled glasses to Chen Rui. "I know you won’t admit it, so there’s no need for you to answer."
Chen Rui silently regarded Li Li for a moment before swiftly taking the glass and elegantly tilting his head back to drink it all in one go…
