"No problem!"
Peter responded decisively, his anger barely contained. There were thousands of lives at stake! Even if they weren't dead yet, their current state was worse than death!
"Tony Stark won't accept your invitation!" Big Baldy scratched his head. As a seasoned agent of S.H.I.E.L.D., Rob was more than just an old-timer.
"The Vampire Clan has the backing of many powerful families. Even some of America's senators probably support this race in secret."
"If it comes to targeting vampires, these families and forces won't just sit idly by."
"You two might not care, but Tony has Stark Industries to think about. To avoid going broke, he definitely won't openly confront the vampires!"
Peter chuckled, "Big Baldy, how about a bet? Let's wager on whether Tony will agree! A thousand dollars!"
When it came to understanding Tony Stark, Peter, who had met him a few times, knew better than most what this guy was really like.
Narcissistic, vain, and most importantly, Tony had a strong sense of justice! He could be considered a half-hearted ally!
"I'll take that bet!" Rob gritted his teeth. He couldn't believe Tony Stark would give up his most valued business to hang out with a bunch of monsters.
If Tony got involved in the plan against the vampires, it was predictable that Stark Industries would face opposition from all sides, and this billionaire would soon find himself on the brink of bankruptcy.
After all, the powerful families and forces supporting the Vampire Clan weren't limited to America.
If it weren't for various pressures, S.H.I.E.L.D. would have long since decided to eliminate this parasite in human society and wouldn't be hesitating now.
Under Rob's watchful gaze, Peter took out his phone. Without pressing any buttons, he spoke directly into the microphone: "J.A.R.V.I.S.... You caught that earlier conversation, right? Tell Tony if he wants to go play with the Vampire Division!"
Big Baldy's mouth twitched slightly; this way of communicating was so bizarre. When did that artificial intelligence become a phone operator? Did everyone have a smartphone with a plugin installed?
“Mr. Peter, your invitation with Mr. Kill has been accepted. Just a reminder to swing by the top floor of Stark Industries when you set off!” J.A.R.V.I.S.'s voice chimed in quickly. It wasn't installed on Peter's phone; it had simply made its way over from Chen Fan's device to respond.
“Big Baldy, pay up!” Peter put down his phone and extended his hand toward Rob. Honestly, nothing felt better than a public slap in the face!
“Why would Tony agree?” Rob muttered in confusion. This didn’t make sense. As the president of a corporation, didn’t he have any foresight?
Wasn’t he afraid that Stark Industries would be targeted and face bankruptcy?
“Let me answer that question for you!” Monster Teacher moved closer, extending a tentacle to pat Big Baldy's shoulder, grinning widely. “This morning, Mr. Tony, in gratitude for Chen Fan's assistance, generously gifted Stark Industries 10% of its shares. So now, Chen Fan is the second-largest shareholder of Stark Industries!”
This revelation surprised Peter a bit. To him, even without these external factors, Tony would have accepted his invitation based on instinct alone.
Ah, so that’s why Big Baldy finally understood why Tony agreed so readily. With the world’s strongest brat backing him up, Stark Industries was like a second Katy Group.
As long as Chen Fan stayed out of trouble, the industries linked to him would be as stable as a rock.
Ten thousand dollars wasted!
…
…
“That vampire, where is that monster you mentioned earlier?” Chen Fan frowned as he scanned the scene below. Aside from the motionless figures resembling plants with barely a hint of life, there was no sign of the monster.
At this point, it was difficult to determine its exact location just by scent.
“It’s locked up in that alloy cage over there!” Vampire Girl replied. “Since we’re unsure whether this type of monster can infect through bites or scratches alone, we can only keep it confined in a sealed cage for research.”
After all, even vampires could get infected from scratches; no one dared to be careless. If they overlooked even a little detail, the consequences were unimaginable.
Parasites die when they lose their host.
Vampires also cannot tolerate humanity facing catastrophic disasters, or they will starve to death—
"Koro-sensei, let her go. I want to see for myself," Chen Fan said calmly. Even without restraints, a vampire was still no match for him.
What Chen Fan was concerned about now was if Vampire Girl wasn't joking; if the monster she spoke of was real, it would undoubtedly spell disaster.
The scene of zombies rampaging might truly unfold.
If even vampires could be infected, that was more terrifying than the zombie scenario.
Chen Fan's words reminded everyone of the urgency of the situation. This was not the time to discuss how to eliminate vampires; it was time to deal with the immediate crisis.
"Ah! I can't believe I forgot! It's time to search for the treasure!" Monster Teacher suddenly released the Tentacle that had bound Vampire Girl and exclaimed, "Sister, don't run off! I'm a monster with speeds exceeding Mach 0! You can't outrun me!"
Vampire Girl twitched at the corner of her eye and pointed casually, "This is my treasure vault!"
For a vampire, what could be more precious than fresh blood?
"What the hell!" Big Boy exclaimed in confusion. This is the treasure vault? What a scam!
"What? This is the vault? Where's the treasure? Where's the money?" Monster Teacher was also dumbfounded; having only five yen in savings left it feeling insecure.
Chen Fan rolled his eyes in annoyance. Did these two not realize where the real problem lay?
A treasure vault?
Vampires aren't dragons; they don't hoard money in their lairs. They’ve long since deposited it in banks or invested in various enterprises. Who would be foolish enough to sit idly by and let their resources dwindle?
Under the guidance of the Vampire Girl, everyone arrived at a place that resembled an isolation chamber. Through the transparent glass from the outside, they could vaguely see the situation inside.
A desiccated human corpse lay there, and judging by its exposed features, it was determined to be male. However, that was not the main point.
The focus was on—
A red glow emanated from the heart of this dried corpse, flowing like molten lava. At the very center, where it connected to the heart, there was a layer of cornea that was still pulsating.
"What is this thing?" Peter exclaimed in shock, his mouth agape. A moving corpse with its own special effects?
The Vampire Girl observed the astonished expressions of the crowd and slowly opened her mouth. "This is my monster. It has a strong infectious quality; anyone scratched or bitten by it will become such a creature, even vampires!"
"If it weren't for this infectious nature disregarding any existence, our clan would have thought this monster was a weapon created by you humans to deal with us!"
With that, the Vampire Girl furrowed her brow and turned her Danfeng eyes toward the only calm figure among them. "You seem completely unfazed. You wouldn't happen to know where this monster came from, would you?"
Chen Fan looked bewildered. It wasn't that he wasn't surprised; rather, he felt as if he had been swallowed by a whale and dragged into the sea...
