Wei Chen squinted in the direction of Eryuan City. Although he could see nothing, he could imagine how many spies were tracking his movements there. Once he made an appearance, a large number of powerful foes would be waiting to ambush him.
"Just for such a trivial matter, they want me dead? If I find the opportunity, even if you are a junior from the higher-ups, I will kill you. At worst, I can leave the Ling Sheng Dynasty; where can't I go?"
After pondering for a moment, Wei Chen looked around. The molten flow was gradually solidifying, and as far as the eye could see, everything was a deep brown color, with many places emitting green smoke, leaving a scene of devastation.

Looking at his own body, Wei Chen felt like crying. His eyes were surrounded by dark red clots of blood, and there wasn't a single intact spot on him; he looked as if he had just crawled out of a mud pit.
"My recent improvement in Soul Power Realm has been so fast that it's beyond my imagination. Such a miracle is probably rare throughout the Soul World." Wei Chen circulated his Soul Power, causing the wings on his back to grow larger and longer until they reached the three-meter length of a Fire Phoenix; he couldn't increase them any further as that was already the limit.
"I wonder where that Fire Phoenix has gone. If it comes looking for trouble when it regains its full strength and the Demon Lotus doesn't come out to help me, it would be disastrous." Wei Chen thought of the Fire Phoenix and couldn't help but smile bitterly; he had gained significant benefits but also attracted considerable trouble.
"This isn't a place to linger; it's best to leave quickly." Wei Chen flapped his wings and instantly flew several hundred meters away at an astonishing speed.
However, after just one flap of his wings, Wei Chen stopped abruptly and turned back in shock.
He saw flames surging from the mountaintop, reaching up into the clouds within moments. The entire mountain was engulfed in flames.
Strangely enough, despite such an unimaginably massive fire, not a hint of heat radiated from it. Wei Chen was only about a hundred feet away from the edge of the flames but felt not even a trace of warmth.
Because of this, Wei Chen did not fly away; instead, he hovered in midair, staring in astonishment.
"Boisterous? Is it not just magma? Does it intend to burn everything? The fire here is likely more formidable than what humanity understands."
In a town several miles away, people fled in panic, the sight of the flames towering thousands of meters high was terrifying enough to instill a deep sense of awe within them.
No matter how powerful a Soul Warrior might be, they were still human and could not conjure such raging flames. Compared to the ultimate power born from the earth, what was humanity?
Wei Chen shared this sentiment. Watching the inferno up close made him acutely aware of how insignificant he was in the face of such ultimate fire.
At that moment, a voice echoed directly in Wei Chen's mind: "What is fire? Devour it!"
Without hesitation, Wei Chen spread his wings and soared toward the flames.
His eyes lost their clarity; he charged mindlessly into the fire.
Within his soul, the Black Lotus bloomed, its dense black mist crashing against his soul palace, leaving him devoid of rational thought. Only one voice echoed in his heart: Devour it! Devour it!
As soon as he entered the range of the flames, the Demon Lotus surged forth, enveloping Wei Chen entirely and preventing him from being consumed by the raging fire.
Wei Chen flew swiftly to the center of the inferno, diving down into the pit below.
At the bottom of the pit, a single flame burned fiercely, its power seemingly capable of incinerating even the void itself. The vast fire above was merely an extension of that flame.
As he approached, it seemed that the flame sensed the terror of the Demon Lotus; it flickered slightly before burrowing deep into the ground, causing the massive flames above to vanish instantly.
"Trying to escape?" Wei Chen muttered under his breath, though his gaze remained utterly vacant. As soon as he spoke, the Black Lotus surrounding him began to swell rapidly, engulfing the entire mountain!
A terrifying suction emanated from the Demon Lotus, drawing out the flame that had hidden underground. It reappeared, struggling fiercely. The flame flickered as if it might extinguish at any moment. Under the might of the Demon Lotus, however, it eventually calmed down, compressing and compressing until it shrank to a size barely visible—before exploding with a thunderous roar.
The Demon Lotus spun wildly around where the flame had detonated. After several breaths, the flame reformed—not as before but as Fire Soul!
The Fire Soul shot into Wei Chen's body, guided by the Demon Lotus, breaking through Wei Chen's aura.
Inside Wei Chen, a fifth Martial Soul emerged: the Spirit of Valor!
Having completed this, Wei Chen soared out of the Giant Pit, his speed significantly increased. With the Spirit of Valor condensed and his flight ability activated, Wei Chen's current speed was a combination of the enhancement from the Spirit of Valor and the dual speed from the wings of the Fire Phoenix.
Moments later, Wei Chen had already flown thousands of miles away, crashing violently into a lake.
With a tremendous splash, Wei Chen slowly sank to the Lake Bottom, becoming ensnared in the mud. The Demon Lotus reappeared, projecting a wave of mental energy that drove all the fish in the lake into a frenzy as they swam towards Wei Chen. Upon reaching him, they disintegrated into paste, their life force entering Wei Chen's body, healing his external injuries.
In just two days, millions of fish in the lake perished at the bottom. The massive life force flowed continuously within Wei Chen, leaving no injuries on his body; even previous hidden ailments had completely vanished. The side effects from his rapid cultivation were also eliminated.
Now, Wei Chen's skin was as tender as a baby's, and all his internal organs were in peak condition; even his hair shone with a deep black luster.
There was an overwhelming amount of life force that Wei Chen could hardly use up. All that Life Energy surged into his spirit realm, enveloping the Fire Phoenix.
Nothing in existence would reject Life Energy, and the same applied to the Fire Phoenix. It emitted joyful cries within Wei Chen's spirit realm; the influx of Life Energy not only provided comfort but also facilitated growth.
The Fire Phoenix visibly grew at an astonishing rate; in less than a minute, it reached its full form, its body solidifying as if made of substance, and its size tripled. Among its kind, such a size had never been seen before.
After accomplishing all this, the Demon Lotus returned to reside quietly within Wei Chen.
Eventually, Wei Chen awakened.
He held his breath and swam upward with all his might.
Upon reaching the surface, he gasped for air vigorously. After a while, he steadied himself and flew into the sky, using his Soul Power to dry his clothes, remaining speechless for an extended period.
Feeling the power of the Fire Martial Soul within him, Wei Chen muttered in a daze, "Paralyze, this isn't a dream. This is real!"
From the explosive surge of fire to his entry into the flames, the complete form of Fire Soul Power, which was destroyed by the Demon Lotus, entered his body. He was fully aware of everything that happened at the Lake Bottom with the Life Energy.
It felt like a dream.
In that dream, he was more like a detached observer, quietly watching his own body's movements, witnessing the might of the Demon Lotus, observing the destruction and rebirth of fire, and seeing countless fish offering their Life Energy.
When he woke from the dream, Wei Chen realized that everything was undeniably real; there was no room for deception.
"Spirit of Valor, it condensed so easily? My Soul Power Realm is still at the fifth level of Power Realm; I shouldn't even have the qualifications to condense the Spirit of Valor." Wei Chen smiled bitterly, questioning whether he was even human anymore.
If he truly were human, such a situation would be absolutely impossible.
An inexplicable miracle had occurred within him, and all of it could only be attributed to that Demon Lotus.
Wei Chen had witnessed the terror of the Demon Lotus; Paralyze—could even that terrifying fire be dealt with in mere moments by the Demon Lotus?
Countless fish had also succumbed to the might of the Demon Lotus, all swimming over to offer their Life Energy?
At this moment, Wei Chen felt anything but joy; instead, there was an underlying sense of fear.
That feeling of fear was directed towards that Destruction Demon Lotus and also towards himself...
His thoughts were incredibly strange, tangled and chaotic.
"I might really not be human. That Seven-Colored Devouring Python—I am the Demon Lotus Successor. Perhaps, in essence, I am the Demon Lotus?"
Wei Chen's mind echoed with the memories of the years before he encountered the Demon Lotus. Those sixteen years were truly his own. After meeting the Demon Lotus, he felt as if he was no longer himself but rather a part of the Demon Lotus.
"I can't even tell who I am anymore. Am I still me? The Demon Lotus consciously does certain things that indeed help me grow stronger, but what if it occupies my body, dominates my consciousness, and turns me into a puppet?" Wei Chen was deeply worried. The Demon Lotus was the strongest ally he had, but at the same time, it was a ticking time bomb.
Wei Chen had no way of knowing when that bomb would actually explode.
"What I can be sure of is that before the Demon Lotus came to Soul Great Six, it had human consciousness. Ni Junlin, that beautiful serpent, is proof of that. She must know everything; I just have to find a way to uncover the truth."
Wei Chen took out the stone that Ni Junlin had given him and stroked it for a moment before continuing, "The girl inside is also quite mysterious. When will I see her again? I must ask her properly."
Thinking of the girl who had given him a warm embrace, Wei Chen felt an inexplicable warmth in his heart. "She seems unable to speak or express her emotions, but she carved my statue. In that statue, I hold the Demon Lotus; I am the one in control."
