The Senior Sea God looked seriously at Wei Chen and said, "Knowing a person’s face but not their heart, one must always guard against others. You should never harbor malicious intent towards others. This is the experience I’ve gained from my travels; keep it in mind."
Wei Chen nodded and replied, "Senior, I will remember this. You can rest assured."
"Yes, always be cautious in everything you do; it will never be wrong. Do not easily trust anyone, even if they are an old partner you have worked with for millions of years. You cannot trust them completely. When faced with immense benefits, even millions of years of friendship can shatter in an instant. Just like me, trapped here with no way out."
"And also, unless it’s a critical moment of life and death, try not to reveal your trump cards. Keep some cards hidden, especially those that could save your life; do not let anyone know about them."
Hearing this, Wei Chen smiled wryly and said, "Senior, you think too highly of me. Right now, I am just a novice with nothing to my name, let alone any trump cards."
"Having nothing now does not mean you won’t have anything in the future. You are a god who has come from the Cosmic Center's Spatial Plane; you will definitely encounter some troubles. Once you reach the Endless Divine Realm, remember not to disclose your identity to anyone. The Cosmic Center, as I understand it, harbors some secrets; there’s no telling if someone might target you within the Endless Divine Realm."
The Senior Sea God was very detailed in his advice; he truly cared for Wei Chen.
Wei Chen remembered his words but wouldn’t be overly guarded. At the very least, he could clearly distinguish between good and bad people. He firmly believed that the Senior Sea God before him meant no harm.
In fact, Wei Chen did not fully trust the Senior Sea God either. Now that the Senior Sea God needed something from him, what would happen once he left the formation? Wei Chen felt uncertain deep down.
However, he knew that the Heart of the God was already his. According to the rules of the Endless Divine Realm, no god could target him for ten thousand years. His Second Type of Realm God was not like the tragic Primordial Realm Deity who had no Power of Belief to absorb.
Moreover, since he shared common interests with the Senior Sea God, many issues would not arise.
"Senior, I remember your words, but going to the Endless Divine Realm is still a distant matter; there’s no need to rush," Wei Chen said lightly.
The Senior Sea God replied, "Is it far off? Heh heh, it won’t be long before you realize White Out; after ten thousand years, you must go to the Endless Divine Realm."
Upon hearing this, Wei Chen was astonished. "Ten thousand years is such a long time?"
"What is ten thousand years? In the world of gods, ten thousand years can sometimes just be a simple retreat. Moreover, for breakthroughs, one retreat could consume millions of years."
The Senior Sea God paused and looked at Wei Chen with a teasing gaze before saying lightly, "Child, once you become a god, you will gradually realize that what matters most is always your own strength. You will not die of old age; however, your women and friends—even your children—will grow old and pass away."
Upon hearing this, Wei Chen was startled. He hadn't considered this issue until Senior Sea God brought it up. Now, with that reminder, he felt a wave of panic wash over him. Who wouldn't be frightened by such thoughts?
If nothing unexpected happened, Wei Chen would become an immortal being, but how long could his women live? In the Demon Realm, a lifespan of ten thousand years was considered peak.
Wei Chen felt helpless; he had never thought about this situation before. But now, it was a problem he had to face.
He couldn't ignore it. He couldn't just ascend to godhood and watch helplessly as his women and friends passed away one by one.
That feeling would drive anyone mad.
Wei Chen didn't just have women; he also had a group of friends and elders. Let's not forget that in the Soul World and Peach Blossom Sect, there were many people waiting for him.
"Senior Sea God, since you've mentioned this, I would like to know if there's any solution," Wei Chen asked calmly, looking at Senior Sea God.
Senior Sea God smiled and replied, "There is no solution unless they also ascend to godhood."
"What should I do then?" Wei Chen asked anxiously.
"Don't rush. You are now a Boundary God. Within your Spatial Plane, you can extend their lifespans; you can slow down their aging. It should be possible to extend their lives by ten times. Moreover, as your power increases, the duration of the extension will grow longer. Once you become a Fifth-Level Deity, your friends could live for billions of years—essentially immortal. If you become a Supreme God, everything will be easier; you can choose some of the most important divine attributes to grant them godhood, which means true immortality."
Senior Sea God chuckled and continued, "In reality, most people cannot become gods. Living for a million years might seem meaningless to them; if you want them to continue living, they might not even want that."
Hearing this, Wei Chen felt somewhat reassured.
"Senior Sea God, please watch from the sidelines while I prepare to break the formation." Wei Chen narrowed his eyes at the array before him; a sphere of Divine Power appeared in his hand as he finalized his plan to dismantle it without further delay.
Senior Sea God nodded and said, "Alright, go ahead. I'll quietly observe and won't disturb you."
Even though Senior Sea God had complete faith in Wei Chen's ability to break the formation, he still felt a bit nervous when the moment arrived.
Wei Chen's first strike of Divine Power hit the formation. A single line of the array shattered instantly.
Following that, the second, third, fourth...
Hundreds of thousands of lines needed Wei Chen to expend his Divine Power to break them one by one.
It was an extremely arduous process. Although Wei Chen was not slow, the sheer number was overwhelming. Whenever he encountered a difficult point, he had to pause and think, which only added to the time consumed.
For a full four years, Wei Chen did not stop for a moment; he was constantly breaking the formation.
Senior Sea God watched quietly, filled with joy.
From the moment the first line of the array was opened by Wei Chen, he felt the binding force pressing down on him lessen just a little.
Though it was merely a fraction of a hundred thousandth, for a deity in the Divine Realm, any change in power could be felt clearly.
Over the four years, aside from the very few moments when Wei Chen paused to contemplate, Senior Sea God sensed that the binding force on him grew weaker and weaker.
By the end, he even felt that his body could break through the formation and fly out directly.
But he did not attempt it; doing so might lead to disastrous consequences. If he couldn't break free, it would disrupt Wei Chen's rhythm—what then?
Finally, Wei Chen broke the last line of the array and collapsed onto the ground in exhaustion.
In that instant, Senior Sea God's Soul Body surged into his physical form, revealing his aged body for the first time before Wei Chen.
Seeing Senior Sea God's true form, Wei Chen encouraged a smile and said lightly, "Senior Sea God, are you free now?"
"My child, do you not notice that within Sea God Palace lies an abundance of Divine Power?" Senior Sea God looked at Wei Chen and smiled faintly.
Hearing this, Wei Chen's expression changed as he asked, "Senior, what is going on?"
He sensed that within the Sea God Palace, there was an overwhelming presence of extremely pure Divine Power everywhere.
The Senior Sea God smiled faintly and said, "This is all my Divine Power. For the years I have been imprisoned, my Divine Power was absorbed by the formation. Now that the formation has been broken, the Divine Power has returned."
"Congratulations, Senior! You should absorb it quickly and not let it go to waste," Wei Chen said sincerely, feeling happy for the Senior Sea God from the bottom of his heart.
However, the Senior Sea God shook his head with a bitter smile and said, "Child, I have given you my Heart of the God. What do I have left to absorb?"
"Without the Heart of the God, you can't absorb Divine Power?" Wei Chen was shocked; did that mean the Senior Sea God was already ruined?
"Senior Sea God, can't you absorb Divine Power again and condense a new Heart of the God?" Wei Chen hurriedly asked.
The Senior Sea God nodded and then shook his head. "I can only return to my Ancestral Realm to absorb the Divine Power there. Without the Heart of the God, I can only regroup in the Ancestral Realm. The Divine Power here is yours now; you should absorb it quickly."
"Is this true?"
"Is there any doubt?"
The Senior Sea God shot a fierce glance at Wei Chen. With so much Divine Power available, which was almost half of his own, if he could absorb it, he wouldn't be willing to give it away to Wei Chen so easily.
Wei Chen was overjoyed and began to absorb the Divine Power with his weary body.
The vast Divine Power surged wildly into Wei Chen's body, converging at the Dantian where his Heart of the God resided. The Divine Power flowed seamlessly into Wei Chen's Heart of the God as if it naturally belonged there. In fact, all that Divine Power belonged to the Senior Sea God, and since the Heart of the God was also from him, their smooth convergence made perfect sense.
Time flew by in an instant; it felt like just a few breaths had passed when two years quietly slipped away.
After two years of effort within the Sea God Palace, Wei Chen finally absorbed all of the Divine Power.
In the Demon Realm, eight years had passed since Wei Chen declared the existence of the Demon Realm. During this time, significant changes had taken place among both the demon race and the Sea Tribe. The vast Power of Belief had coalesced around Wei Chen's Phantom, waiting for its master to absorb it.
Only two years remained until the ten-year deadline set by the Senior Sea God. Fortunately, as long as the Senior Sea God still had a breath left, he could return to his Ancestral Realm and be reborn.
"Child, have you absorbed it all?"
Seeing Wei Chen stand up, the Senior Sea God asked with a smile. For the past two years, Wei Chen had been continuously absorbing Divine Power, and the Senior Sea God had not left prematurely; he had remained by Wei Chen's side as a protector.
The Senior Sea God felt a complex mix of emotions toward Wei Chen. He had given him his Heart of the God and most of his Divine Power. Especially after Wei Chen refined and absorbed the Heart of the God, the Senior Sea God's feelings for him grew even more complicated. In his heart, Wei Chen was like a son to him, even closer than his own flesh and blood.
His biological son did not have the qualifications or opportunities to inherit his Heart of the God and most of his Divine Power!
The Senior Sea God's efforts had almost entirely converged on Wei Chen, and naturally, his feelings for him developed over time.
Wei Chen nodded deeply and bowed respectfully to the Senior Sea God. "Thank you. I feel that my Divine Power is now close to that of a First-Level Deity."
"That's about right. After all, during my peak period, I was close to being a Secondary God. Although I consumed some power in the Demon Realm, there is still plenty left. With most of my Divine Power given to you, reaching First-Level Deity should not be a problem," the Senior Sea God replied with a smile.
