The Western Buddha and the Jade Emperor are two rather unique figures.
In name, the Jade Emperor is the sovereign of the entire Nine Immortal Realm, commanding everything. Under the Jade Emperor, there are many Immortal Emperors, each a powerful figure in their own right, akin to feudal lords. Periodically, these Immortal Emperors must symbolically pay their respects at the Jade Emperor Palace, no matter how impatient they may feel deep down.
After all, the Jade Emperor Palace symbolizes the authority of the Nine Immortal Realm and serves as the center for cultivators.
The Western Realm, however, is quite different.
Situated in the ocean to the west of the Nine Immortal Realm, the Western Realm is somewhat distant from the Jade Emperor Palace. The inhabitants of the Western Realm do not cultivate according to Daoist principles but rather follow Buddhist teachings. Buddhism originated from Daoism but later evolved into its own distinct system.
This situation has made the Western Realm immensely powerful; among the "feudal kingdoms," it stands as the strongest.
Gradually, the status of the Western Realm solidified, and its leader, known as the Western Buddha, grew indifferent towards the Jade Emperor and his palace, eventually ceasing to pay homage to him.
Of course, this was also due to this generation's Jade Emperor being infatuated with the beauty of the Queen Mother. The Jade Emperor had little desire to be disturbed, and since the Western Buddha was disinterested in visiting, he too was unconcerned.
Previous Jade Emperors had some control over the Western Realm; back then, even the Western Buddha dared not neglect his duties.
Now, however, things were entirely different. The Western Buddha completely disregarded the Jade Emperor's commands and even undermined his authority.
Thousands of years ago, a Demon Monkey emerged as a key focus for cultivation by the Jade Emperor. Unexpectedly, it was ensnared by a plot orchestrated by the Western Buddha in collaboration with his top figure, Guanyin. This led to chaos within the Jade Emperor Palace. The Jade Emperor had countless ways to subdue the Demon Monkey but was caught off guard when Guanyin insisted that it should have a connection with Buddhism. Guanyin had considerable influence within the Jade Emperor Palace due to her connections and charm.
Reluctantly, the Jade Emperor agreed to Guanyin's request to allow Buddhist forces to influence the Demon Monkey. Ultimately, it fell under the command of the Western Buddha. The Jade Emperor suffered a significant loss and could not simply let it go. In another Low-Level Spatial Dimension controlled by the Nine Immortal Realm, the Demon Monkey underwent trials while many demon clans sent by the Jade Emperor attempted to provoke it but were mostly thwarted by Guanyin's timely interventions.
In time, the Demon Monkey achieved great success in Buddhism and became the top enforcer under the Western Buddha, leaving the Jade Emperor powerless.
As a result, the Jade Emperor harbored deep resentment towards the Western Buddha; not only did he not wish to see him pay homage at his palace, but he also preferred not to see him at all.
A so-called Journey to the West has expanded the influence of the Western Buddha to a level that nearly rivals that of the Jade Emperor. The Western Buddha and Guanyin have truly calculated their moves well.
The Western Buddha has his top enforcer, the Demon Monkey, and his leading socialite, Guanyin. It would be difficult for them not to rise to power.
Moreover, the Western Buddha possesses the Nuwa Stone, which can match the Xuanyuan Sword in the hands of the Jade Emperor. This is why they have become the overlords of the Nine Immortal Realm.
In the Western Realm, the center of power is the Thunder Sound Temple, a grand and magnificent temple. Although it is a temple, everything here is not much different from the Jade Emperor Palace, except that there are no romantic entanglements between men and women; however, food and drink are still plentiful. True Buddhist practice is not as the secular world understands it—free from wine and meat.
Within the Thunder Sound Temple, all high-ranking officials are present.
News of the Demon Realm Army attacking the Nine Immortal Realm, the death of the Jade Emperor, the destruction of the Jade Emperor Palace, and the emergence of the Peerless Strongman Wei Chen has already reached the Thunder Sound Temple.
The Western Buddha sits on his main lotus seat, his round face resembling that of a pig. On that excessively plump face, no emotions can be discerned.
It seems that the arrival of the Demon Realm Army has nothing to do with him at all.
The messenger reporting this news exits the great hall; even as the Demon Realm Army approaches, the Western Buddha remains remarkably calm.
A voluptuous and charming woman steps forward and bows to the Western Buddha. "Buddha, the Demon Realm Army is almost here. How should we in the Western Realm handle ourselves?"
This woman is none other than Guanyin, the top socialite under the Western Buddha.
The Western Buddha chuckles lightly and replies, "When soldiers come, we will block them; when water comes, we will dam it. There will always be a way."
"Buddha, but there are too many in the Demon Realm Army. The grandson of Demon Emperor Dark Mage, Wei Chen, possesses unparalleled strength; none of us can match him. Even the Jade Emperor Palace has fallen—what can we do?" Guanyin says anxiously.
The Western Buddha calmly responds, "Do not be hasty. We will sit right here; no matter how powerful those from the Demon Realm may be, they won't step into Thunder Sound Temple even an inch."
Upon hearing this, the high-ranking officials in the hall were taken aback. The confidence of the Western Buddha was so strong?
The Jade Emperor had been defeated! Moreover, reports indicated that even after unleashing a power capable of destroying the earth, he was still taken down.
"Strange, where does the Buddha's confidence come from? Is his combat strength perhaps even greater than that of the Jade Emperor?"
"The Buddha's combat strength is indeed much stronger than that of the Jade Emperor. Over these past few thousand years, the Buddha's power has progressed rapidly, far beyond our imagination."
"But the power unleashed by the Jade Emperor with his divine sword was incredibly strong. That kind of immense force was easily countered by someone named Wei Chen."
"Exactly! That fellow named Wei Chen is truly the most powerful overlord in the Demon Realm!"
"The Buddha seems quite confident. As subordinates, we can rest assured; if the Buddha's people can't break through, then they definitely won't."

The stout monks, bare-chested and with round faces, whispered among themselves.
In truth, monks often sat for long periods, rarely moving or exercising, resulting in a uniform appearance of plumpness; not a single thin one among them. They ate a lot and moved little, making it impossible to lose weight. Yet they seemed quite satisfied with their figures; after all, the Western Buddha embodied that style. Their bodies were a reflection of their leader. Standing out was not seen as a good thing; conforming to their leader was considered the way to go. Just imagine if those high-ranking officials were robust and fit—wouldn't that make the Western Buddha lose face?
Even those who didn't particularly enjoy eating had to force themselves to consume more, all to cater to the Western Buddha's tastes! There had been thinner individuals before, but those thin ones gradually found themselves excluded from Thunder Sound Temple.
Even the once-skinny Demon Monkey Kong had become a plump monkey in order to align with the Western Buddha. His body was no longer as agile as when he caused chaos in the Jade Emperor's Palace, but his Buddhist power had significantly increased.
In the Western Realm, what is referred to as Buddhist power is actually spiritual energy; it is just cultivated in a unique way. When unleashed in an attack, it shone with a gentle light, hence it is called Buddhist light...
The Western Buddha glanced at Demon Monkey Kong sitting on his right and said lightly, "Kong, what are your thoughts?"
“Reporting to Buddha, I have no opinion. Since we can't win, let's just hide here. They can't break through Thunder Sound Temple, and they definitely won't be able to. We have food and drink here, living carefree while they wait outside. Eventually, the Army from the Demon Realm might just leave on their own,” Demon Monkey Kong scratched his head and said.
Western Buddha laughed heartily, “That makes sense. If we can't win, we can only defend. Thunder Sound Temple is completely safe; everyone can rest assured.”
Sitting on the left side, Guanyin cast a approving smile at Demon Monkey Kong and said, “Kong, you are indeed clever.”
“Guanyin, it's all thanks to your teachings. I didn't know anything before!”
In an instant, everyone burst into laughter, and the atmosphere was very harmonious.

On Shenzhou, Wei Chen was playing with Xuanyuan Sword, pondering, “How did that Jade Emperor manage it? He can actually control Xuanyuan Sword to some extent? Why can't I?”

Seeing her snow-white form, Wei Chen felt a deep tremor within him. The sleeping Queen Mother was stunningly beautiful, with an astonishing allure that even Wei Chen found hard to resist.
He gazed at her body, meticulously observing every inch of her, and his mood grew increasingly restless.
"Damn it, having held the title of the most beautiful woman in the Nine Immortal Realm for over three thousand years is no joke!"
After taking enough of a look, Wei Chen turned around and cleared his throat a few times.
Queen Mother woke from her slumber and, seeing a man's back, quickly pulled up the blanket to cover herself. Once she realized it was Wei Chen, she bit her lip and let the blanket fall again.
Wei Chen clearly "saw" her actions but dared not turn around. He said calmly, "Queen Mother, please put on some clothes."
"My lord, I'm used to sleeping naked; I don't like wearing clothes," came her sultry voice, reaching Wei Chen's ears and igniting a heat within him.
Quickly suppressing that heat with his Divine Power, Wei Chen regained his composure.
He turned around, his gaze calmly resting on the naked form of the Queen Mother. "You have a good figure; I've seen it already. If you don't like wearing clothes, that's up to you. Just answer my questions."
The Queen Mother was momentarily taken aback. She had never expected that the resolve of this ruler of the Demon Realm would be so remarkable.
Most men would have rushed at her without a second thought upon seeing her like this, wouldn't they?
Understanding the situation, the Queen Mother gracefully put on her clothes.
It must be said, some women have such an elegant and charming way of dressing.
Wei Chen couldn't help but feel a bit distracted by the Queen Mother's languid movements and expressions.
He narrowed his eyes slightly and said, "Queen Mother, I promised the Jade Emperor to treat you well, but I have a habit: I dislike hearing any lies."
"My lord, please feel free to ask any questions. I wouldn't dare lie in front of you," the Queen Mother replied.
Wei Chen let out a cold laugh. "In front of me, even the slightest heartbeat or shift in your gaze won't escape my notice. If you want to lie, you can try to keep your eyes steady and your heartbeat unchanged. But if I catch you in a lie, I'm afraid you'll have to reward my Demon Realm Army; I believe there are many men waiting for you. I have countless methods to ensure that even if you wanted to end your life, you wouldn't be able to."
At his words, the Queen Mother's expression changed slightly.
