I smiled helplessly, "Let's go, brother." Jing generously walked ahead.
I had no choice but to follow everyone. "Have you been here before?" After a few steps, Jing suddenly turned around and asked.
"Of course I've been here." A flicker of disappointment crossed Jing's face. After a pause, I continued, "How could I have saved you if I hadn't come? By the way, you're dressed quite lightly."
Jing's face actually turned red, and she quickly turned away.
"Hehehe." I chuckled. If I didn't act a bit "lewd," this girl would keep pestering me. Honestly, this was my third time at the bar, and each time it was with Old Bi, and each time something went wrong!
The first time I encountered a girl with a split personality, the second time I almost got killed. Speaking of which, who exactly is that Five Master? I still have no clue. There's been no news from Ah Huang either; it's as if that person has evaporated.
But for some reason, I always had a premonition: we would definitely meet again!
The only question is, when we meet next time, will it be a matter of life and death?
The bar's entrance was right in front of me. I smiled wryly; here we go again. Hopefully, this time nothing bad would happen.
As soon as I entered the bar, a deafening wave of sound hit me. The noisy environment was like a different world compared to the quiet night outside.
There were so many people! I glanced around in amazement. The hall was quite large, with an open space in the middle that I knew was the dance floor where people could go wild when the upbeat music played. However, there was also a stage where a beautiful girl in hot pants and a tank top was dancing, surrounded by a large crowd who were shouting something.
Over here, Old Bi skillfully led us to an empty four-person table at the edge of the stage.
A waiter came over to ask what we wanted to order. I looked at Old Bi; he fully displayed the demeanor of a nightclub regular at that moment. He consulted Jing about her preferences while instructing the waiter.
After the waiter left, I looked around at the environment. This bar was indeed lively; many people were swaying their bodies to the explosive beats of the DJ. Once the beers arrived and after a few rounds, Jing and Old Bi gradually became more excited. After finishing one pint of draft beer, Old Bi slammed his glass down and shouted loudly, "Old Wang, do you have any beauties with you? This isn't fun! Jing, I'm taking Old Wang to have some fun! Don't think you can stay alone with him!"
At that moment, Jing glanced at me and mysteriously smiled at Old Bi, "You'll have your surprise soon!"
"What surprise!?" Old Bi looked at Jing with eager anticipation.
Jing took out her phone and glanced at it. "Oh, it's almost time. Just wait a bit longer; we'll be heading to the stage soon!"
Old Bi was restless, his eyes darting toward the stage like a cat scratching at its heart. The stage was currently empty, but the beautiful woman in hot pants and a tank top had just stepped down and sat at a nearby table. She didn't seem like one of those hired to create an atmosphere for the bar. A few people had ordered drinks from the waiter, with flowers sticking out of them.
"Ordering a drink? That's quite something!" I said, following Old Bi's gaze.
"Brother Wang, you don't understand. This is a special drink made by the bar called Blazing Red Lips. It's very expensive—almost three hundred for a glass. This bar is currently running a themed event to select the Nightclub Queen. Apparently, during this event, whichever girl receives the most of these drinks will become the Nightclub Queen and earn a Gold Card Member status, which means free drinks!"
"What the hell! That's impressive!" Old Bi exclaimed in surprise.
"One drink? I would need four or five!" I laughed self-deprecatingly and shook my head. It felt like two different worlds; just yesterday I was on the battlefield, and today I found myself in such a luxurious place. It all felt surreal to me. Yet, strangely enough, both the military camp and this place coexisted in reality.
"Jing, if you dressed more provocatively, you'd definitely be the Nightclub Queen! You have such a great figure!" Old Bi teased with a grin.
"Pfft!" Jing spat playfully, her face flushing slightly. "I wouldn't want that!"
"Really! Look at you tonight; you look great! With your spaghetti straps and short skirt—wow! Your skin is so nice and you're beautiful! Several men are looking at you! If you went up there, you could be the queen too!"
"Ugh! Stop it! You're so disgusting!" Jing laughed as she scolded him. "I'm just a regular at nightclubs. I enjoy the lively atmosphere here; I'm afraid of being lonely. I can relax here, and that's enough for me. I'm not interested in anything else."
I watched them with a smile, especially Old Bi. He genuinely seemed to enjoy this environment; perhaps there really are people like him—insensitive to worries, open-minded, carefree enough to switch channels at any moment.
I couldn't do that. For me to enjoy a place like this bar, I'd probably need to have truly left the military behind first to feel as relaxed as Old Bi did.
"Come on, let's have a drink together!" Jing urged everyone as she raised her glass of draft beer. I even doubted whether I could keep up with her drinking. But how could a junior student like Jing drink so much? Did she often come to places like this? What was so great about drinking? I found it puzzling but soon began to laugh at myself; wasn't coming here supposed to be about relaxing? Why was I overthinking it?
"Cheers! Here's to my safe return!"
"You should be wishing for your Third-Class Merit award!" Old Bi interrupted me.
"Ah! What is Third-Class Merit?!" Jing asked, puzzled.
"Third-Class Merit, oh Brother Wang, you really stood out this time. The higher-ups decided to award him a personal Third-Class Merit. Wow, just two years in the army and he gets a Third-Class Merit! Some people spend their whole lives in the military without ever receiving one!" Old Bi exclaimed.
"Ah! Brother Wang! You're amazing! Come on, I want to drink with you alone!" Jing grabbed my arm.
"Let's drink together!" Old Bi chimed in from the side.
Jing's face turned red again, but she didn't say anything.
I was confused. "What does 'drink together' mean?"
"What the hell! Do you really not know or are you pretending?" Old Bi was astonished.
"I really don't know!"
"You are so out of touch!" Old Bi was about to explain it to me.
Just then, with a drumbeat, a host's voice rang out, "Ladies and gentlemen! It's time for our beautiful ladies to shine! Coming up next is our reigning Nightclub Queen—Qiqi!"
"Ooh!" A wave of cheers and applause erupted from the crowd below.
"Friends! After our continuous competition for over ten rounds, we are nearing the final moments of the Nightclub Queen evaluation. Qiqi is about to make her entrance! As always, she will choose a man for some close interaction! Who will it be? Let's wait and see! Gentlemen! What are you hesitating for? Do you want to share a drink with the queen? Do you want to challenge her Blazing Red Lips? Don't hesitate; quickly prepare your tokens of affection!"
The host's enthusiasm and teasing were infectious; even I was curious about what this Qiqi would be like. Old Bi was even more excited, leaning over the back of his chair and whistling loudly. Anyone who didn’t know him would think he was a rogue.
The host knew how to capture everyone's attention. After finishing his promotion, he fell silent as the drums began to beat steadily. With a final thud, the drumming stopped abruptly, and the enchanting sound of a Kelpie bagpipe filled the air. A stunning figure in red emerged from the end of the stage!
Years later, I would come to realize that this red, sexy seamless bodycon dress—complete with a V-neck and front-and-back cutouts—was not something just any girl could pull off.
Don't be discouraged; it's not about presence, it's about capital.
You need to have that physical capital!
Alright, when this girl stepped out, the first thing that attracted everyone was her figure.
Absolutely stunning.
The tight dress hugged her body, accentuating her curves beautifully. I really don't know her measurements, but she was definitely well-endowed. Wearing high heels made her figure even more elongated, and as she walked with a catwalk strut, each step was impactful.
To top it off, her chest was daringly cut, revealing even her black lingerie; it was sheer both front and back.
I think in my life, this is the first time I've seen someone brave enough to wear something like this.
After taking in her overall appearance, you would then notice her face. This girl had long hair and an oval face—fair and delicate. The key feature was her eyes; describing them as enchanting would not be an exaggeration.
As she gracefully walked a few steps, the DJ changed the music to "Eill Rk Yu!" This is a classic song by Queen; many have covered it, but it was used here.
Suddenly, this girl named Qiqi transformed from a poised and elegant demeanor into a wild and crazy state as she danced to the music.
"That skirt is really short!" Old Bi licked his lips and remarked.
I had no words; this girl was indeed uninhibited, her movements were bold. Didn't she fear a wardrobe malfunction? I thought to myself.
At that moment, Qiqi began interacting with the crowd, blowing kisses one moment and then leaning over to dance closely with people at the tables beside the stage.
"I'm old! This is a gem," Old Bi exclaimed again.
"Do you want to get to know her?" Jing said from the side. Huh? When did Jing's voice become so alluring?
"Thinking, thinking!" Old Bi said without a second thought.
"Let's make a deal. You're in charge of the main gate, right? If you let me come and go to find Brother Wang whenever I want, I'll introduce you!" Jing suddenly said decisively.
"What do you have in mind?" Old Bi asked, puzzled.
"Don't worry about that! Are you in or not?"
"Deal!" Old Bi gritted his teeth, picked up a cup of wine, and clinked it with Jing's before downing it in one go.
A strange smile appeared at the corner of Jing's mouth as he raised his hand and shouted, "Qiqi!"
At that moment, the music had faded, and Qiqi heard the call. She glanced over, smiled charmingly, turned around on stage, tossed her hair back, cupped her hands by her mouth, and pretended to blow a kiss before walking down towards us.
The crowd below erupted in cheers, "Queen, don't go!" "Dance a little longer!"
Wait! Jing knows Qiqi?
