It shed layer after layer of skin, much like a snake molting. By the time the Evolution was complete, it had transformed into a Behemoth over three meters tall and nearly six meters long, its fur shining a deep black.
Three massive heads lined up side by side, each revealing sharp, menacing teeth. Its eyes glowed a fiery red, flickering like flames, exuding an aura of extreme bloodlust and terror that made it hard to look directly at.
Though still somewhat weak, its fierce presence was undeniable, having become a terrifying beast capable of sweeping through the entire arena!
“Cerberus: Special Totem, has evolved; can be enhanced. Evolution success rate 1%, consumes 1 Evolution Point;
Abilities: Scorching Heat, Devour, Death Howl.”
Xiar's face was filled with unrestrained excitement. He never expected it could evolve into the mythological Hellhound, the fearsome creature that guards the gates of Hell.
Moreover, it possessed boiling heat within; each attack would inflict fire damage, and it had the mysterious ability of Death Howl, which could affect the mind.
“The Ultimate Form should be the legendary Hellhound, which will possess fire abilities and likely amplify this mental power, granting it the most terrifying ability to devour souls from Greek mythology.”
Xiar's eyes sparkled as he realized his earlier perceptions were correct. It was born to be noble and extraordinary; it should not meet a tragic end like a stray dog.
He looked up at the towering three-headed beast and couldn't help but reach out to stroke its glossy black fur. “Very well, you shall follow me from now on. Your name will be Milo.”
Xiar recalled his Lava Hound pet from when he played World of Warcraft and chose that as its name.
The creature lowered its head slightly in submission, its bizarrely fierce crimson eyes filled with affection and dependence.
However, its pride from its Bloodline prevented it from being as close as Firefly was to him. This made Firefly dissatisfied, letting out a cry while sitting on Xiar's shoulder to assert its status.
He smiled and turned his gaze to another beast.
The Two-Headed Monkey stood two meters tall, its massive frame more robust than that of a Gorilla; otherwise, it wouldn't have been considered a fighting beast.
"There are no monkeys in the divine beasts of Western Mythology. I wonder if it is a genetic mutation or if it truly possesses some kind of mysterious biological Inheritance Factor."
After organizing the storyline over this period, he realized that many of the divine beasts set to appear in the future were reminiscent of those from Western Mythology in his past life, such as dragons and the Phoenix. The appearance of Cerberus Milo further confirmed his suspicions.
Unfortunately, he couldn't recall any multi-headed monkey monsters from his memories.
Not wanting to dwell on it, Xiar decisively activated the Colorful Puffball again, transforming it into a Half Totem.
Gazing at the three-dimensional image on the translucent Interface, he pressed the "+" symbol with determination, and the Evolution Points began to plummet like a rushing stream.
Like Milo, this Two-Headed Monkey also swelled up, growing from its original height of two meters to four meters in an instant, resembling a colossal beast from a sci-fi movie he had once seen.
Roar!
The Behemoth's thick arms slammed against its chest, producing a terrifying sound that reverberated through the air.
Xiar watched in astonishment as all the yellow-brown fur on its body fell away, replaced by a layer of golden scales.
Its sharp-faced head elongated significantly, resembling that of a python, with its tongue transforming into a slender snake-like flicker.
"Two-Headed Monkey: Special Totem, has evolved; can be enhanced. Evolution success rate 6%, consumes 15 Evolution Points."
Abilities: Venom, Death Embrace, Super Strong, Super Agility.
Uh, what is this thing?
It looks like his head will slowly turn into a snake's head, covered in a layer of scales, with a huge bulge on his back. Is he planning to grow a pair of wings too?
Xiar stared at the creature in disbelief, unable to tell what it would Evolution into in the future, but its strength had clearly increased many times over, making the gold coins he spent worthwhile.
"It's a bit ugly; I'll call you Kong. Just don't be like that idiot who went to the rooftop to show off for a human."
Roar!
The massive Two-Headed Giant Ape pounded its chest again, shaking him slightly and causing his blood to surge. Its immense power was evident.
"Some things never change; just like that fool, you love beating your chest. Quiet down!" Xiar shouted angrily, knowing that attracting attention from others could lead to trouble—because he needed to silence witnesses.
The soul-bound master-servant suppression forced it to sit down, scratching its head in fear, giving it an oddly cute and foolish appearance.
Cerberus Milo stood nearby, its eyes filled with pride, seemingly looking down on the creature.
"Definitely a bit unreliable... Never mind, get up quickly and look for some nearby Radiation Creatures that we can hunt." Xiar kicked it lightly and swiftly left the area with the two newly Evolution beasts.
These two beasts had each undergone Evolution twice, consuming a total of 5 Evolution Points. He needed to hurry and hunt Radiation Monsters, or he wouldn't be able to continue expanding his Half Totem numbers.
With his previous qualifications, he could control one Main Totem and three Auxiliary Totems. With the enhancement from the Colorful Puffball, this meant he could manage as many as thirty Half Totems.
Just think about it, even thirty terrifying monsters like Milo and King Kong could calmly escape when faced with the Ultimate Form!
As for defeating the opponent... Xiar had no confidence whatsoever.
The Ultimate Form had completely transcended the limitations of the physical body; it represented the pinnacle of biological evolution, akin to a fish leaping over the dragon gate, entirely shedding its previous weaknesses.
Even an insect like the Venomous Stinger Bee would possess terrifying power capable of crushing Cerberus once it ascended to the Ultimate Form.
It was he who possessed a Totem Modifier as an external aid. If it were a member of the True God Cult, even with a Colorful Puffball, they wouldn't be able to cultivate so many Evolution-level monsters so quickly, let alone reach the Ultimate Form.
This was also the fundamental reason for the True God Cult's defeat in future events. They had a massive Totem Army, but far too few Ultimate Forms and divine beasts.
One Ultimate Form could massacre hundreds or even thousands of Ultimate Evolution Bodies, while divine beasts could unleash devastating powers that could annihilate tens of thousands of Ultimate Evolution Bodies in one fell swoop.
The severe shortage of high-end combat power left them utterly powerless against the many rising heroes. Even when activating the final Tree of Life, they suffered catastrophic blows due to the involvement of divine beasts and ultimately faced defeat.
"It seems I have a long way to go. The totems I possess are still far too few; I must find a way to increase at least five more Ultimate Evolution Bodies!"
Xiar sighed lightly. If anyone else heard such complaints, they would surely want to strike him down!
After all, others could barely manage two Ultimate Evolution Bodies, which had already drained many years of their savings. Many people spent their entire lives without being able to gather enough resources to complete the Evolution of their Main Totem!
