The murmurs among the many captains abruptly ceased, and the entire conference hall fell silent to the point where a pin drop could be heard. It felt as if a great mountain had descended, suffocating everyone present with an overwhelming sense of dread.
After a moment, Bean broke the eerie silence. "This kind of person, who dares to provoke the authority of the Enforcement Team, deserves to die!"
"Mr. Clark, what do you think?"
"Very well, you did a good job." The person addressed managed to squeeze out a response through clenched teeth, his face calm as if a storm were approaching. After casually tossing out that remark, he strode out of the room.
What had started as an intense accountability meeting abruptly came to a halt, turning the discussion about Xiar's punishment into a farce.
Clearly, the other party was emboldened by having a Third-Level Spirit Master backing them up, completely disregarding the Enforcement Team and even daring to hurl insults.
If such a person were not punished, it would be impossible to maintain authority and would leave all other members of the Enforcement Team feeling disheartened.
After the meeting dispersed, Bean called Xiar into a side room alone. With an approving look, he said, "To be honest, I didn't expect you to possess a Memory Stone. Well done."
"I only did it for self-preservation; I handle every mission fairly and not recklessly," Xiar replied without missing a beat.
When he received this mission, no one had informed him that the target was the direct heir of the Kleimans Family, but he had sensed the surprise in others' eyes.
Thus, Xiar had spent over a hundred thousand dollars to purchase a Memory Stone.
The Memory Stone was one of the academy's top technologies, mimicking certain biological structures of eyes capable of recording images and capturing footage over a period of time.
In reality, it was just a camera; unfortunately, it was prohibitively expensive and powered by Source Power, making it impossible for widespread use.
Not only ordinary people but even most Spirit Masters could hardly afford it. He had secretly acquired one through Montor as a precaution against unforeseen circumstances.
Now he had successfully recorded the other party's vile behavior, leaving Clark—who had tried to use this incident to bring about punishment—empty-handed.
“Clark and the head of the Kleimans Family are friends, so the previous mission was just a formality and will be canceled after some time.”
Bean shook his head helplessly, slightly exasperated. “Your son is reckless, charging in without a care and taking someone out—though it does remind me of my younger days. I like it!”
“Uh…” Xiar was momentarily taken aback by the sudden shift in tone, surprised that the other person would say something like that.
“What’s with that look? Do you think I called you over just to scold you?” Bean replied, even more perplexed.
“Thank you. If you hadn’t been there, I wouldn’t have been able to escape so easily,” Xiar said earnestly.
The Memory Stone was indeed useful, but the other party was a Tier Three Expert and one of the five superiors of the Enforcement Team, who could easily find other reasons to impose punishment.
However, with Bean of the same rank present, Clark had to tread carefully and could only let him off this time.
“But don’t get too comfortable; that guy is cunning. He’ll definitely hold a grudge against you for standing up to him. Just be careful in the future.”
“Got it, I understand.”
Xiar knew that this matter wasn’t over, but he didn’t dwell on it. With the capabilities of the Evolution Modulator and White Spirit, by the time the other party devised a meticulous plan to harm him, it would be uncertain who would end up suffering.
After leaving the Enforcement Team building, Xiar spotted a delicate figure sitting on the roadside directly in front of the entrance.
Surprised, he walked over. “Jin, were you waiting for me here?”
“Mm-hmm. Do you have time tonight?” she nodded and stood up, lightly brushing off her skirt.
"There's time..." Xarl replied with a strange tone.
Was the character reversed, and was the other person too much?
The wind began to rise, rustling the nearby trees, and white petals fell like snow, stirring an inexplicable emotion within him.
It seemed that in such moments, beneath a blooming crabapple tree, he had confessed to a girl... but unfortunately, it had failed.
"You are a good person," was the reply he received.
"Alright, I'll find you then." By the time he came back to his senses, the other person had already turned and left.
Xiar shook his head, shaking off the inexplicable sorrowful memories from his mind, and stepped toward Gafiel's laboratory.
Next, he would be involved in experiments related to Organ Transplant.
In Aqua Star, they had indeed achieved kidney transplants and many other Organ Transplants; however, the technology was far inferior to that of this world, with various limitations that prevented the vast majority of people from benefiting from such treatments.
In Morent, however, the relevant technology had long since matured, allowing for perfect cloning of organs.
For instance, if someone lost a leg to a monster, they could return and spend a hefty price to have a new leg cloned and installed.
This cultivation process took less than ten days—sometimes even as little as three!
Achieving this was naturally reliant on Source Power. This special energy granted Spirit Masters extraordinary abilities and enabled them to realize many of their ideas.
Among these achievements was Organ Transplant.
In the laboratory, there were numerous independent compartments, each labeled with names like Fish, Insect, and others, representing different experimental organisms.
Xiar frowned as he examined a peculiar creature in his hands. It resembled an Octopus, but its body was fused with the Bloodline of another species.
The Octopus was too soft-bodied; while it could easily escape danger, its attack power was too low to strangle creatures with hard skeletons or armor like a python could.
Especially in this world, where many perverse Totem Beasts existed, boasting incredible defensive capabilities, the Octopus had become utterly useless.
However, Gafiel valued its remarkable regenerative abilities and its eight Tentacles. He had been researching ways to transform it into a formidable Totem Beast, conducting experiments to integrate the Bloodlines of other creatures to completely reshape it into the organism he desired.
The experiments had made some progress, but they had yet to overcome the issues of Bloodline rejection and reproduction.
Xiar could only conduct one experiment after another. He casually tossed the lifeless Octopus into a nearby grinder, crushing it before proceeding to the next trial.
By the time he wearily returned to his residence, it was already around eight or nine in the evening. Under the streetlights, he noticed a delicate figure quietly standing at his door.
"White Fox, do you have time right now?" Loli asked again.
"Um, I suppose I have time. What do you need me for?" Xiar replied, surprised at her late visit and wondering if it was something more personal.
"Well then, come with me. I'll show you another world."
Loli stepped closer and took his hand. Moments later, Xiar felt as if he had passed through something extraordinary, and the scene before him transformed dramatically!
