There are no two leaves in the world that are exactly the same!
Even if they look similar, there are still significant differences, such as the patterns on the leaf surface and the serrated edges.
If leaves are like this, then people are even more so. Even identical twins will develop increasingly distinct differences over time.
Not to mention, he felt a nearly indistinguishable spiritual fluctuation from the other person. No wonder each Spirit Master regarded the other as himself.
After all, everyone's spiritual fluctuations are unique, akin to the DNA studied on Aqua Star. From this point alone, he could assert that the other person was definitely his Clone Body!
He had to capture the other person to determine who was manipulating him!
"What’s wrong?" The girl tilted her head in confusion and waved her hand in front of his eyes.
Leslie came back to his senses and said with a serious expression, " Bella, I have something urgent and can't stay with you. I need to leave immediately. Please be careful."
"What is it?"
"The academy has an emergency mission. I have to go..."
Without waiting for her to ask further, Leslie threw his shoulders back and dashed away at full speed, disappearing at the end of the street in the blink of an eye. The sudden rush startled passersby, leaving them in shock.
With his current extraordinary strength, his running speed surpassed that of the fastest beasts, appearing to ordinary people as nothing more than an indistinct shadow.
"Les..."
Bella had just opened her mouth when he vanished from her sight. The gust of wind he left behind nearly knocked her off her feet, forcing her to grab onto a nearby lamppost for stability.
Many passersby cast puzzled glances her way but quickly went about their own business.
In Morent, Spirit Masters were incredibly common; if a stall collapsed somewhere, one or two out of ten people could easily be Spirit Masters...
"Hi, you must be Sister Bella."
A gentle, magnetic voice came from behind her. She turned around, puzzled, to see a young man standing before her.
His features were somewhat youthful, but his demeanor was mature and elegant. With sapphire eyes and flowing white hair, he exuded an air of unattainable nobility that drew the attention of countless passersby.
Many girls were particularly captivated by his presence, their faces showing signs of infatuation.
"Hello, that's me. May I ask what you need?" Bella responded somewhat shyly. Coming from a common background and lacking the Spirit Master gift, she felt a deep-seated respect for these nobles and powerful individuals.
"No need to be formal. I'm a friend of Mr. Leslie; we share a bond akin to life and death," Xiar said warmly, introducing himself as if they were old acquaintances. "We met across the ocean and later came to Morent. You can call me Xiar."
The girl appeared quite ordinary, with wine-red eyes and unremarkable features. Her long brown hair was tied into two sections that hung in front of her, reminiscent of girls from the late twentieth century in the Flowering Family era.
She slightly lowered her head and gazed at her brown leather boots as she softly asked, "Mr. Xiar, what do you need from me?"
"Nothing much, just thought I'd stop by and chat with you," Xiar replied with a smile, as if they were merely bumping into each other on the street. He continued walking after that.
After taking just a couple of steps, he suddenly seemed to remember something and turned back with a serious expression. "Sister Bella, Leslie might be getting involved in some very dangerous matters that could threaten his life. If you get the chance, please try to talk him out of it."
"After all, he's my friend too, and I don't want him to face danger like this."
"What danger?" Bella's eyes widened in alarm as she looked at him anxiously.
"I'm sorry; I don't know the specifics. He didn't tell me. Of course, this is just a friendly warning; perhaps nothing will happen at all," Xiar shrugged with a smile. "Well then, goodbye, Sister Bella. I wish you good luck."
As she watched his figure disappear around the corner, Bella bit her lip and quietly walked away.
Little did she know that a thread-like creature had landed on her and silently burrowed into her body.
The insect's saliva had a slight anesthetic effect, dulling any pain, as if it were just the ordinary sensation of fabric brushing against skin.
After laying down the hidden hand, Xiar walked through a secluded alley and suddenly stopped in his tracks.
Firefly was summoned, comfortably perched on his shoulder, its purple eyes glowing faintly.
Between them, strands of purple light seemed to connect, causing Xiar's mental energy to surge dramatically, his own eyes turning a deep shade of purple.
On his retina, countless images flowed like a waterfall, revealing many locations on the island if one looked closely at each frame.
Unfortunately, most of them were blurry, resembling photos taken with a low-resolution imitation phone.
After a moment of cascading images, he finally found what he was looking for—the intersection one thousand meters northwest of the academy's south gate!
……………………
Damn it, where did he go?
Leslie halted his frantic run, glancing around at the intersection. His blood-red hair danced behind him as Fierce's mental pressure caused some passersby to tremble in fear, their faces pale with terror.
He had caught up to the Totoro Bus, but the person who looked exactly like him had vanished without a trace.
Following the lingering aura, he searched desperately; however, as he continued, that scent dissipated amidst the throngs of people, making it impossible to identify.
After a while, he closed his eyes and forced himself to regain composure, striving to reconnect with that elusive sense he had felt earlier.
"Hey, Leslie, what are you doing here?"
At that moment, an extremely dangerous aura approached, instantly disrupting all his senses. He opened his eyes warily and saw Bean and Lyle walking toward him.
Both of them were dressed casually, seemingly enjoying a day out together, looking like an ordinary pair of siblings.
However, both had striking looks, attracting attention wherever they went.
“Senior Leslie,” Lyle greeted with a smile, a hint of blush appearing on her cheeks as she nervously fiddled with the hem of her skirt.
Bean keenly sensed the intense anger radiating from Leslie and looked at him in surprise, asking, “What’s wrong? Did someone upset you?”
“You... it’s nothing. I have something to attend to, so I’ll be leaving first.” Leslie hesitated for a moment before decisively turning away, leaving Lyle staring in confusion at his retreating figure.
Then, Bean smiled and playfully poked the girl beside him on the nose, a touch of apology in his voice. “Sister, the academy needs me for something regarding the badge, so I can’t accompany you today. Go have fun by yourself; buy whatever you want this time—I'll cover it.”
“Hey, you promised to take me to the night market! How can you go back on your word?” Lyle pouted angrily at him.
“I can’t help it. I don’t want to deal with that frog either, but I have no choice,” he shrugged, looking helpless.
Laughter escaped her at his words. “Frog... Garfield Teacher really is quite adorable. Alright, go ahead. This time I’m definitely buying all those gems; it’ll break your heart!”
“Thanks for your generosity, dear sister.” Bean affectionately ruffled her hair before slipping his hands into his pockets and boarding the Totoro Bus that had just arrived. The smile on his face suddenly vanished...
