Central Laboratory Cafeteria.
A variety of aromas filled the air, enticing with the delicious scents of food that stirred hunger within.
Xiar and Tiffany sat together as usual, sharing a meal. After spending some time together, under the onslaught of culinary delights, he had become her closest friend, or rather—her dining companion.
They were the quintessential friends bonded over food, a friendship purely established on their shared love for good eats.
After finishing off a large amphibian leg in just half a minute, Tiffany wiped her mouth and said, “Xiar, would you like to go out with me for a bit after the party?”
Uh, is this moving too fast? Are we going on a date now?
A thought flashed through Xiar's mind as he replied, somewhat surprised, “Sure. But what’s it about?”
“I need your help to save someone; consider it a favor I owe you.” She bit her lip and met his gaze calmly.
“I’m not a doctor… why not ask someone else?” Xiar feigned surprise.
“I don’t have friends or money. I tried to help her, but I couldn’t,” Tiffany confessed openly.
There was no hint of shame in her words; she spoke as if it were someone else's matter, straightforward and composed.
“Of course, I can help. After all, you’re my friend, and it’s only right for friends to help each other,” Xiar smiled, fully understanding the situation.
She bore the heavy responsibility of reviving an empire and had trained herself as if she were a boy.
With the aid of Bloodline power, she possessed an astonishing talent in martial arts, having reached General Rank at just eighteen years old, boasting formidable combat strength capable of taking on thousands alone.
Unfortunately, it was of little use; compared to a Spirit Master, it was hardly noteworthy. An Ultimate Warrior couldn't even break through an ordinary Spirit Master's Guardian Spirit Light, only able to handle some novice newcomers.
If she had spiritual abilities or some kind of gifted power, she would end up like Marcus, completely defenseless against Firefly's attacks, left at the mercy of others!
Having no friends and no money was undoubtedly a heart-wrenching situation.
But for Tiffany, it was nothing out of the ordinary. Aside from those who coveted her beauty, it was hard for anyone to offer her genuine affection.
Her way of dealing with the world was no different from that of men; despite her stunning looks, she was often seen as a violent woman, completely unwelcome in this world where strength reigned supreme.
The most critical point was that she was an Evolved Warrior, a monster that could mutate and die at any moment.
Evolved Warriors were heralded as a groundbreaking achievement, but many Spirit Masters viewed this batch of pioneers merely as experimental White Mice, a pitiable existence.
"When do we set off?" Xiar asked, fully aware of the situation, continuing straightforwardly.
"If possible, I’d like to leave as soon as possible," Tiffany said, her expression blank as she stared at him, looking worried that he might not agree. This made Xiar think of a certain meme, feeling like a dragon had its eyes on him.
"Alright, just give me the specifics, and I can get ready to go with you."
An hour and a half later, Xiar hastily completed his tasks, and the two set off together from the Central Laboratory.
This time, Tiffany had specifically come to wait for him at his location, leaving the gossip-loving technician astonished. As they departed, he flashed Xiar a lewd smile and whispered, "Stay safe; don’t get..."
Xiar felt somewhat speechless; some people were indeed creatures driven by their lower instincts and never thought beyond that.
……………………
The two switched buses three times on the Totoro Bus before finally arriving at a dock town located at the southeastern corner of the island.
Morent enforced strict entry and exit regulations; over ninety percent of the ordinary people who could settle here had Spirit Master relatives vouching for them.
Once someone chose to settle on this island, they could never leave without approval; otherwise, they would be permanently barred from returning.
Fishing is quite permissible here, with the area centered around Morent Island spanning several kilometers considered an active fishing ground. As long as it is not during the closed fishing season, one can fish freely.
However, once you venture beyond this range, you will be repatriated by special forces stationed in the ocean.
These special forces are not human but rather a group of cultivated creatures that have become terrifying sea monsters in the eyes of ordinary people, evoking fear and dread.
After stepping off the Totoro Bus, a fishing village came into view.
There were only a few dozen households, and some fishermen had just returned from the sea, their boats filled with catches.
Docked at the pier was a Whale Ship, from which several elegantly dressed individuals descended, seemingly searching for something.
The two paid them no mind. Tiffany led him into the village and skillfully stopped in front of an ordinary house. She reached out to open the gate and called out loudly, “Vivian, I’ve brought someone over.”
“The door isn’t locked; come in…” A weak voice responded from inside.
Tiffany pushed the door open and stepped in, with Xiar following closely behind, silently observing the interior and comparing it to his memories.
The house was very simple.
There were no extra decorations in the room; the bare walls and uneven floor vividly reflected the living conditions of its occupants.
In the inner room, a girl wearing a loose white nightgown sat quietly on the bed by the window. Upon seeing them approach, a smile appeared on her pale face.
“Sister Tiffany, you’ve gone through so much trouble again.” The girl’s beautiful amber eyes sparkled with curiosity as she looked at Xiar. “Who is this?”
“This is my friend whom I invited to treat you. You can call him Brother Xiar,” Tiffany said as she walked over and gently touched her forehead, a hint of tenderness breaking through her usually stoic expression.
“Brother Xiar,” the girl sweetly called out.
"Well, Sister Vivian, please cooperate with the treatment," Xiar said with a smile as he casually set down the box he had brought and began to take out various surgical instruments.
He glanced at Tiffany. "Shall we begin?"
"Alright."
Tiffany nodded, closing the door and windows tightly. She then produced five glowing orbs powered by Source Crystals, illuminating the entire room like a hundred-watt incandescent bulb.
"Don't worry; you just need to sleep for a little while. When you wake up, everything will be better."
Xiar gently cupped her face in his hands, his eyes shimmering with a faint purple light as his voice became increasingly soft. "Now, look into my eyes. You're very sleepy and will drift off into a deep slumber..."
"I'm so sleepy..."
The girl closed her eyes, breathing evenly and softly, completely falling into a deep sleep.
With the aid of his strong Mental Attribute, he had instinctively learned to use a power similar to Firefly's, allowing him to instantly hypnotize those with weaker mental fortitude.
A hint of confusion flickered in Tiffany's eyes but vanished in an instant. As she gazed at his profile, a strong sense of wariness arose within her.
Next, Xiar reached out to lift the covers and slowly began to remove her clothing, revealing the girl's bare body before his eyes...
