"Islands?" Warner asked, puzzled.
Both of his Ultimate Evolution Body seagull totems had completely collapsed and vanished under the arrival of the Ancient City, and it would take a significant cost to revive them.
Without the eyes in the sky, he could see nothing on the vast ocean.
"Well, I can smell the scent of trees from the Southwest wind. Some seabirds flying from the Southwest are also carrying various plants in their beaks," Xiar lazily stretched his limbs.
Although the lion he hunted was considered a big cat, lying on its soft body was quite comfortable; however, lying for too long inevitably became dull.
"Are you still human?" Warner looked at him in astonishment.
"Haha, of course I'm human! It's just that my senses are a bit sharper than an ordinary person's," Xiar chuckled.
A bit sharper...
Warner wore a strange expression. To be able to distinguish the scent of trees coming from afar amidst the stench of various marine creatures and the salty smell of the vast ocean—wasn't that sharper than a dog's nose?
He walked over to the lion's corpse beside him and said seriously, "Xiar, I'm becoming more and more interested in your body. Please let me..."
"Sorry, I'm not into that!" Xiar waved his hand to interrupt, as it was easy for misunderstandings to arise.
"What do you mean by 'not into that'?"
"Nothing much; you can think of it as a philosophy..."
"Alright, I don't quite understand—when did the mark on your forehead appear?"
"A while ago. It looks quite nice."
...
The giant turtle drifted southward with the current, and Xiar lay on the back of the Lion of Hunt, continuing to gaze into the distance.
After the previous calamity, he couldn't find a single Source Crystal on him. Without the energy from the Source Crystals to act as a catalyst, he couldn't even perform the simplest Spirit Technique, relying solely on his physical strength and mental power.
As he looked at the surface of the water, Xiar noticed a burning Burning Purple Flower mark appearing on his forehead, looking particularly strange.
Upon closer inspection, he realized that this was left by the Net of Magic Algae's Consciousness Entity, a side effect of being granted the highest level of control at that time.
This mark was his greatest gain from this journey, far surpassing the significant enhancement of his own attributes and the revival of Firefly!
When the Net of Magic Algae completely collapsed, an overwhelming amount of mental power surged into this mark, while fragments of the collapsing Consciousness Entity also entered it, as if treating it as a final sanctuary.
He could sense that the mental power within was astonishingly vast; it felt as though this mark contained an entire world, with an Illusory web existing inside—essentially a miniature version of the Net of Magic Algae!
Unfortunately, his current strength was far from sufficient to utilize it, much like an infant trying to lift a three-meter-long Greatsword.
The appearance of this mark sparked an extremely wild idea in Xiar's mind, one that he planned to implement after some time.
Net of Magic Algae and Web of Fate enveloped the entire world like a vast web, trapping everyone within its grasp.
Since escape was impossible, Xiar decided to weave his own net, one that would replace all others, declaring himself the sole ruler!
…………
Under the night sky, a colossal beast glided through the water, keeping watch over the surrounding seas, serving as the guardian of this island.
On the back of the beast sat a man with deep blue hair and light blue eyes, idly gazing at the dark surface of the ocean.
This was his job; he was a Patroller, an ordinary yet extraordinary role. His mission was to patrol a radius of several thousand meters around the island, ensuring no one approached.
As dawn approached and he began to doze off, the giant creature beneath him suddenly emitted a low, uneasy growl.
Buzz!
Hearing the beast's rumble, the man instantly became alert, scanning his surroundings. As its companion for several years, he understood that such a deep wail signified an unknown danger.
Then he saw a Silver-Haired Young Man walking toward him across the water's surface, barefoot!
The moonlight illuminated the figure, making his Silver Long Hair shimmer, while his blue eyes seemed to reflect the galaxy.
"Are you... Siren?" The man was taken aback, astonished to witness someone walking on water for the first time, which inevitably reminded him of that Mythical Creature.
“Siren? No, I am human, just here to ask for directions.” The other person grinned, revealing a set of exceptionally white teeth.
His mind was in chaos; his extraordinary night vision allowed him to see clearly that there was nothing beneath the other’s feet, as if they were truly walking on the surface of the sea.
What was even more terrifying was that the other’s bare feet seemed to be hovering above the water, not touching it at all!
It was a shocking experience to have someone ethereal and otherworldly approach you, walking on water in the dead of night.
“Humans! How could humans possibly walk on water!”
“Why can’t humans walk on the surface of the sea?” The Silver-Haired Handsome Youth smiled. “But first, I’m a bit hungry. Could you take my companion to the island for a rest?”
“By the way, what’s your name?”
Under the gentle inquiry, he suddenly realized that he felt no sense of wariness towards this person before him; instead, he obediently replied, “My name is Black.”
“Black, that’s a nice name. It would be even more amusing if it were Blitz. Now, let’s go fetch my companion.” The Silver-Haired Youth said with a smile, stepping forward and onto the back of a giant beast.
The beast suddenly let out a pleasing sound, showing no signs of resistance.
Gulp!
Black swallowed hard, realizing he had encountered an extremely mysterious being. Nevertheless, he kindly reminded, “Mr. Siren, there are countless ruthless pirates living on the island. If you and your companion go there, you might be in danger.”
To their surprise, the other party's smile grew even brighter. "Pirates? Isn't that even better? My ship sank in the tsunami, and I was just about to borrow a ship and some food."
"They might hurt you!" Black exclaimed, momentarily stunned. He never expected the other person to be so pleased at the mention of pirates on the island.
"Don't worry, they shouldn't harm me."
With that confident assurance, the giant beast swam northeast without any guidance from Black.
After more than ten minutes, Black was astonished by what lay before him. He had thought his whale, nearly twenty meters long, was already a giant creature, but it paled in comparison to what he saw now.
Before him was a hundred-meter-long Giant Sea Turtle, resembling an island floating on the surface of the sea!
Then, two men and a terrifying monster descended from the turtle's back and boarded the whale, making their way toward the island.
As soon as they set foot on solid ground, a group of people rushed over, pointing their rifles at them and shouting angrily, "Who are you?"
"We are guests from afar. Please take me to see your leader."
"Alright, please follow me."
The six strong pirates immediately dropped their murderous intent and respectfully led the way, behaving like servants from a noble family. This made Black's expression grow increasingly strange...
