"An Invader?"
"What is this thing? It can't just have fallen from the sky, can it?" Cecilia asked, puzzled.
Moko looked at her and replied, "An Invader is someone who comes from another world. Countless Invaders seek to occupy this world's Source of Origin in order to gain the power to dominate a world. This kind of power can easily tame Disaster Beasts!"
"The entire world cannot resist them, not even a Fourth-Level Spirit Master can stand against them!"
"Stop! What are you talking about?"
The more Cecilia listened, the more confused she became. Despite her vast knowledge, she couldn't grasp what the other person was saying.
Her memory was astonishing; she had an incredible ability to remember everything she saw. Not only had she memorized the knowledge of her entire school, but she had also gone out to learn from many Spirit Masters.
If it weren't for this strange Main Totem holding her back, she wouldn't have been unable to evolve and grow stronger for so long.
"Don't you understand yet?" Moko suddenly sighed, his tone filled with sorrow. "This world is merely a farm for those people!"
"They use the world as a cage to breed the most powerful totems, turning them into their prey in order to obtain the world's Source of Origin!"
"A farm!" Cecilia took a few steps back, her face filled with shock.
This was an unbelievable truth; she never imagined that the world she was familiar with was actually someone else's farm.
A farm, by definition, is used to raise animals like cattle and sheep for human food or to provide various products such as fur and milk.
But now, the other party had horrifically hinted to her that the entire planet was someone else's farm, meaning all their Spirit Masters were nothing more than livestock ready for slaughter!
"Do you see that city in the sky? That is the ultimate weapon created by those people; it is the common enemy of all Fourth-Level Spirit Masters, an enemy we cannot coexist with!" Moko continued, once again asking with great caution.
"So tell me, are you one of them or a life form on this planet?"
"Me?"
Xiar lifted his head, gazing at the leaden gray clouds frozen in the sky, murmuring, "I am Xiar, a being of this planet."
"The past is gone, and I have developed more and more attachments to this world. I cannot willingly become someone else's pawn."
"Xiar, are you remembering something?" Cecilia asked cautiously, watching him.
She couldn't help but worry; after all, she had deceived him before. If he remembered everything, he would definitely come after her.
He still looked somewhat confused but spoke with determination. "I vaguely recall that I had another identity, one that came from a highly advanced civilization known as the Empire. I remember that everything was done to recreate the glorious civilization of the Empire, so I undertook many, many tasks."
"This world is too backward, still trapped in a primitive civilization. Therefore, I want to change it, starting from the Source Nation. This change is meant to make the world better and to fulfill my most difficult dream. But now I’ve forgotten what that dream was... What was it?"
"Moko, is that monster from your Sky the ultimate weapon of our enemy?" He turned to look at the starkly contrasting creature.
"Yes, it has existed for thousands of years. Whenever a Fourth-Level Spirit Master or Disaster Beast falls, it descends to devour their souls. What’s even more terrifying is that this monster does not allow any Fourth-Level Spirit Master to advance further; it has locked the path beyond Super Evolution!" Moko's tone grew increasingly sorrowful.
"If being devoured after death can be seen as being taken by death itself, then the inability to evolve makes it the enemy of all Spirit Masters because every Spirit Master's lifelong wish is Evolution! Evolution! More Evolution!"
"However, its power is overwhelmingly strong. Generations of Fourth-Level Spirit Masters have been unable to withstand its attacks and can only watch helplessly as it continues to exist with an immortal life! The Fourth-Level Spirit Masters call it—Ming!"
"It represents the end of the path of Evolution and is the ultimate fate of all beings, including Disaster Beasts!"
"Alright, I see." Xiar recalled what the Pirate Queen had once said.
"You foolish creature! It is the greatest enemy of all who desire Evolution! By becoming its servant, you are destined to be at odds with all Fourth-Level Experts!"
These were words once spoken by the Pirate Queen, confirming this truth and implying that this monster was not lying!
"The Fourth-Level Spirit Masters have no idea that it is the culprit treating this world as a breeding ground. It has locked away the path of upward Evolution, making it a mortal enemy." Moko shook his head, his round head looking particularly amusing.
Upon receiving the exact reply from Xiar, it immediately let down its guard, believing in the other’s words as if it could see into their hearts.
However, the two people present were not contemplating such feelings. Cecilia looked at it with confusion and asked, "What exactly are you? How can you bring us here?"
The Source Gate had taken the True God Cult hundreds of years to open in this generation, a culmination of the lifelong efforts of each Fourth-Level Spirit Master within the Cult.
Moreover, it was the opening of the Source Gate that had caused such a dramatic upheaval in the entire world.
Yet now, the other party had casually brought both of them inside, which seemed utterly unreasonable.
"Because this is the birthplace of my existence. As the guardian of the world's origin, I was born from the world's essence. It is a rebellion against World Will, wanting to expel those Invaders!" Moko replied.
"Unfortunately, our strength is far too weak, and we are restrained by it, unable to exert any effect. We can only enter the Surface World to seek out Spirit Masters who might possess a glimmer of hope."
"Uh, so I am your chosen one, the so-called Chosen Child?" Cecilia felt a strong sense of absurdity and couldn't help but pounce on it, grabbing its ear and shouting angrily, "If I am your chosen one, why have you not evolved after five whole years!!!"
"Well, um, that was somewhat unexpected. I saw a convergence of world fate within you, which is why I took the initiative to become your Main Totem. However, I misjudged; what I saw was not your own fate but rather a vast power of destiny formed due to your connection with someone else!"
Cecilia turned her head blankly to look at the Silver-Haired Youth beside her. "Is it him?"
Moko nodded vigorously. "Yes! This one is truly the one with a glimmer of opportunity—a fellow outsider who would not be opposed by the ultimate weapon!"
