Maple Village is located at a specific coordinate, precisely 20 miles straight southeast of Southern Wilderness City.
In fact, this is a serene and harmonious classical village, detached from the mundane world. However, due to Yi Tianchen's series of encounters at Black Wind Stronghold, he not only became somewhat of a celebrity but also brought this tranquil village into the spotlight among numerous players.
Thus, Yi Tianchen naturally felt that he was the spokesperson for Maple Village, and a free one at that!
With the mission approaching, Yi Tianchen and Liu Yuhan informed the other three members of their studio early on, logged off for dinner, and after logging back in, they stood side by side in the village, gazing at the western sky. The sunset cast brilliant rays of light, painting half the landscape in hues of red.
Nightfall was imminent.
"This is it; this little village is called Maple Village. I stumbled upon some unusual changes here today; perhaps there’s a Hidden Quest!" At the village entrance, a Berserker dragging a heavy sword pointed towards Maple Village, speaking to five players behind him.
Yi Tianchen took a closer look. Among the six, there were two Berserkers, two swordsmen, a knight, and a mage. It seemed these individuals were part of the same group, as they all displayed eager expressions upon hearing the Berserker mention a quest.
Indeed, Yi Tianchen didn’t mind them joining in on the mission to protect the village. Since the maximum number of participants for this quest was only ten and he held control over it, even if they joined the fight, it would merely serve to benefit Yi Tianchen and his companions.
What miraculous reason could Yi Tianchen have to refuse such noble intentions?
"Haha, we must seize this opportunity! Damn it, the quests in Zero Era are just too damn hard to take on. We have to make tonight count!" The only mage waved his broken staff around, wearing an expression that screamed "I'm awesome."
"Okay! Let’s head into the village!" The leading swordsman swung his sword and called out to everyone before rushing toward the village entrance.
However, just as they reached the entrance, a tall and imposing guard brandished his spear with a fierce gaze and pulled out a large wooden sign that read sternly: "Unauthorized personnel are prohibited from entering!"

The loose priestly robe did little to conceal her graceful figure, instead making her even more alluring.
The Priestess stepped forward, and one guard's eyes lit up as he earnestly exclaimed, “Oh, beautiful lady, welcome to the beautiful, peaceful, and warm Maple Village! On behalf of all the kind-hearted villagers of Maple Village, I sincerely welcome you and your companions!”

Upon hearing this, Yi Tianchen stared dumbfounded at the “dedicated” guard at the village entrance, utterly shocked into silence. Liu Yuhan also facepalmed, a teasing glint appearing in her eyes that seemed to say, “Why are all men like this?”
At that moment, from the forest beside the village entrance came a series of unwilling roars, followed by the sound of something crashing against tree trunks.
Thus, the Priestess and her companions entered the village.
“Liu Yuhan, Tianchen…” The Priestess quickly approached Yi Tianchen and Liu Yuhan. Noticing their unusual expressions, she asked, “What’s wrong with you two? You look strange.”
“Hehe… It’s nothing!”
Yi Tianchen chuckled awkwardly, shrugging his shoulders as he pulled out the Lava Staff and Flame Set from his pack. He turned to Mu Wanqing and proposed a trade: “Wanqing, although this isn’t suitable for a Priestess, it adds quite a bit of Intelligence and has decent defense. You should wear this for the mission!”
Mu Wanqing glanced at it and was immediately taken aback. She exclaimed, “Oh my gosh! It’s a level 30 Dark Iron Equipment set! Why isn’t it suitable for a Priestess?”
Yi Tianchen was speechless; this was beyond his control. During dinner, when he learned that Mu Wanqing had also reached level 30, he had made this decision. After all, they were about to embark on a legendary difficulty group quest; preparation was key.
“Oh? What good stuff do you have?” Li Tielong was the first to jump down from the carriage.
Following him were Lin Yan, Hero Does Not Question Origin, Stinky Fish, and Far Apart. They all gathered around eagerly. After a day of relentless effort, everyone had reached level 30 and successfully completed their mid-tier class advancements.

Liu Yuhan smiled lightly and did not mention the equipment again, as Mu Wanqing was already wearing it, showcasing it to everyone. She turned to Yi Tianchen and asked, "What about the other two?"
"They should be here soon," Yi Tianchen replied with a smile.
Just then, a beam of white light rose from a nearby corner, revealing an assassin wielding a dagger—The Terminator of Regrets. Although this guy had caused Yi Tianchen quite a bit of trouble during their first encounter, his skill level was undeniable, which is why Yi Tianchen had chosen him after some consideration.
As for the other person, it was naturally Not a Master, who had blocked the three major leaders of the Fierce Dragon Guild for Yi Tianchen in the dense forest. Looking across the entire game, aside from Not a Master and The Terminator of Regrets, Yi Tianchen didn't have anyone he could truly call a friend at the moment.

After adding Liu Yuhan and the others to the group, he shared the mission details with Not a Master and The Terminator of Regrets, who couldn't help but feel excited upon seeing the actual mission description, even though they had heard about it from Yi Tianchen earlier that afternoon.

Under the night sky in Maple Village, everything was brightly lit. Village Chief Kahn had returned to his usual self and armed all the villagers. They were equipped with hoes, axes, sickles, harpoons, and bows and arrows, setting up a solid defense at the village entrance.
Then Village Chief Kahn approached Yi Tianchen and his ten companions with an imposing demeanor and declared, "Tonight, the Sea Monsters from the shallow waters outside will launch a massive invasion of our village. They are not only numerous but also extremely ferocious. Brave warriors from afar, whether Maple Village can survive tonight's calamity depends entirely on you!"
Yi Tianchen nodded slightly in acknowledgment of Kahn's stirring words that urged them to fight for their lives. He said, "Chief, while we still have time before the Sea Monsters arrive, could you please give us a detailed introduction to the upcoming mission?"
"Sure," Kahn replied. "This attack by the Sea Monsters will be divided into three phases. The first phase will consist of ordinary small Sea Monsters. However, do not underestimate these ordinary small Sea Monsters; their numbers can reach dozens or even hundreds. If they charge at our small village, it could be deadly."
Hearing this, Yi Tianchen's group was momentarily taken aback; it was clear that this was essentially a scaled-down version of a Siege Battle!
After pausing for a moment, Village Chief Kahn continued, "Once you fend off the ordinary small Sea Monsters in the first phase, during the second phase of their attack, Level 40 Sea Monster Leaders will appear. Yi Tianchen and his companions felt a wave of dread wash over them. They could almost see a few black crows circling above their heads, flying around in circles. Then they spoke in unison, "Village Chief, to be honest, we think so too."
Just then, a sudden violent sound of crashing waves erupted from the nearby beach. Following that, Yi Tianchen and Liu Yuhan heard a series of strange screams that surged like waves, clearly indicating that there were numerous creatures making those eerie sounds.
"Warriors, those ferocious Sea Monsters are about to arrive! If Maple Village can survive this night, you will surely become our eternal benefactors!" Village Chief Kahn's expression changed drastically. As he spoke, he began to retreat. By the time he finished his sentence, he had already dashed away without a trace.
Yi Tianchen and his companions exchanged glances; indeed, this was the fate of cannon fodder!
