"Brother Long." Chen Zhao Zhou's face was pale as a Soldier helped him into the vehicle. 0

"It's good that you're okay. To be honest, I didn't have much hope," Cheng Long said, extinguishing his cigarette and looking at the sickly handsome brother before him. He smiled and added, "Get some rest; we'll be leaving soon." 0

"Where are we going?" Chen Zhao Zhou managed a weak smile. He had been locked up in a factory by Shaoshan's people, alongside other captured RCA members. He Wei Guo had evidently not had time to interrogate him, so he had not suffered any physical harm. Cheng Long, on the other hand, had been caught in the explosion that sent He Wei Guo flying and toppled nearby buildings. Chen Zhao Zhou and the others had nearly been buried under the collapsing concrete debris. Fortunately, they were locked in a corner room and narrowly escaped the disaster of the load-bearing wall collapsing. 0

As Cheng Long had initially imagined, the defensive forces here were not exaggerated; He Wei Guo's personnel were mostly outside. The guards left behind in the factory could not mount an effective counterattack—either they were caught in the blast or shot when they exposed themselves. Chen Zhao Zhou was lucky; he and a few RCA Foreigners seized the weapons of soldiers trapped under the concrete wall, untied themselves, and crawled out of the ruins just before the explosion occurred. Cheng Long's team was small but comprised skilled individuals who had been with him for years. After clearing out the guards outside the factory, they happened upon a group dressed in RCA uniforms and rescued Chen Zhao Zhou. 0

"You don't need to worry about that right now; we'll talk later," Cheng Long said, patting his shoulder as he gazed at the Zombies pouring into the streets around them. There was a hint of despair in his voice: "First secure our own." 0

It was unclear who Cheng Long referred to as "outside," but "inside" undoubtedly referred to those trapped on the streets with Shaoshan. 0

At that moment, Jiang He had pulled Shaoshan to the back of a truck to discuss their escape plan, but they hadn't managed to come up with anything before being startled by an approaching Horde of Zombies. 0

Under normal circumstances, the appearance of Zombies should have been expected; after all, living humans were no longer in control—the Zombies were. However, Jiang He had previously assumed that places occupied by someone as powerful as He Wei Guo would be safe, at least from Zombie threats. Yet once again, he found himself disappointed. 0

"This is really it," Jiang He muttered, staring blankly at the Zombies flooding into the street, ultimately losing hope for survival. 0

As mentioned earlier, Shaoshan's convoy had just entered from Technology Park's passage and stopped at an intersection, effectively blocking the road. Now they faced Cheng Long's ambush ahead while Zombies were closing in from behind. Although they could scale the high walls on either side, it was clear that Cheng Long and his team would not let them escape. 0

The Horde was only about two hundred meters away from their concealed position. Even if these Zombies were crippled and moved slowly, they could cover that distance in ten minutes at most. Meanwhile, Shaoshan and his group could not clear away the obstacles directly in front of them within that time frame. 0

The soldiers also noticed the approaching Zombies behind them. In their panic, they were caught off guard and were shot down by the cold guns from Cheng Long's side, rolling on the ground like marbles. As the Zombies drew closer, the gunfire from Cheng Long's side gradually ceased. Perhaps they were too lazy to waste more bullets; hitting a couple of unfortunate souls trying to peek out would suffice. With blood, loud noises, and heat—the three essentials that attract Zombies—fully present, the horde of Zombies was more than capable of devouring the group from Shaoshan and spitting them out to eat again. Therefore, Cheng Long and his team had a much simpler task ahead. 0

At this moment, Jiang He couldn't be bothered to guess why there were no Zombies at the fork where Cheng Long was. Watching the bewildered expressions of the soldiers and Shaoshan's tightly furrowed brows, Jiang He figured his luck had run out. He looked up at the sky, dejectedly tossing away his cigarette butt. The butt fell to the ground, spinning wildly in the wind until it rolled under a Jeep. 0

A quick-witted soldier stepped forward and stomped on the cigarette butt. The heat well cover beneath the vehicle made a dull thud. The soldier kicked the butt away and rolled his eyes at Jiang He's back. The car's fuel tank had been punctured; if that cigarette butt caught fire, they would all go down together. 0

"What are you doing?" Shaoshan glanced at the soldier and caught a glimpse of Jiang He's actions. He saw him checking his handgun ammunition, chambering a round, and raising the gun—but not towards an enemy. 0

"Just taking myself out to thank the world, what else?" Jiang He replied indifferently, though his arm trembled uncontrollably as he struggled to hold the gun steady against his temple. 0

Surprisingly, Shaoshan didn't try to snatch the gun away or scold him; he simply looked at him with a complex expression and remained silent for a long time. Nearby soldiers swallowed hard, wanting to say something but hesitating. 0

"Is this how you give up?" Shaoshan raised an eyebrow, observing Cheng Long's position through the rearview mirror before turning back to Jiang He's gun with a helpless shrug. "If you die, what will happen to your girlfriend?" 0

"Ask me? Who should I ask?" Jiang He rolled his eyes as sweat trickled down his forehead, bypassing the gun barrel and dripping onto the ground. 0

"Not regretting it?" Shaoshan seemed to have some strange thoughts; despite being surrounded on all sides, he suddenly sat down on the ground as if planning to have a casual chat with Jiang He about life. 0

"Regret? Of course! My sexual orientation hasn't changed; it feels weird to be buried with you." Jiang He's finger trembled on the trigger. He thought about chatting for a bit before suddenly pulling the trigger on himself; otherwise, the psychological pressure would be too much. 0

Shaoshan let out a laugh, his face slightly flushed as he said, "You really think I'm gay?" 0

"Support your comrades, fight against discrimination—no need to feel embarrassed." 0

"Do as you wish, just put the gun down. We're not at that point yet." 0

"No, I'm afraid if I put it down, I won't have the courage to lift it again." 0

"Then keep holding it, as long as you don't mind your arm getting tired." 0

"…" 0

One soldier couldn't stand it any longer and urged, "Vice Commander, think of something! The Zombie is almost in range." 0

"Let's fight!" 0

"Yeah! Let's fight!" 0

"…" 0
