The sudden gunshot fired by Cold Man missed Song Jiu, but the bright flash from the explosion startled him to the core. 0

The dungeon was small and pitch black; firing randomly could easily lead to accidental injuries. Song Jiu attempted to snatch the gun away with one hand but failed, only managing to pull the muzzle into the bars while Cold Man kept his finger firmly on the trigger. However, the round mixed with steel balls and iron sand had already been fired. As long as Song Jiu didn't let go, Cold Man wouldn't have a chance to change ammunition. 0

"Are you okay?" Song Jiu turned to look at Xiaofei, who was frozen in shock from the sudden gunfire, sitting on the ground and nervously staring outside the cage. Upon hearing Song Jiu's question, she timidly shook her head. 0

" Brother Jiu!" 0

A scream came from the darkness, followed by chaotic footsteps as someone rushed toward them. 0

Despite his confusion, Song Jiu felt a sense of relief; it was Dream Fan who had arrived. 0

A fresh group of people quickly entered the illuminated area. Liu Yan took the lead and paused for a moment upon seeing the standoff between those inside and outside the cage. Then he stepped forward and kicked Cold Man aside, causing a loud crack as he delivered a line that Luo Yu couldn't comprehend. Raising his arm, Black Muzzle was aimed at A Hai's forehead. "I'll give you a chance to leave your last words." 0

A Hai smirked slightly, his gaze shifting to Luo Yu, his eyes flickering with a hint of attachment to the world. 0

"Time's up." The Blonde Woman smiled faintly as she pulled the trigger. 0

"Bang!" 0

Behind the low bushes outside, Liu Yan held down the seemingly frenzied Song Jiu with all his might. Veins bulged on his forehead as he poured all his strength into restraining him. 0

"Calm down, calm down," Liu Yan whispered urgently in Song Jiu's ear, using every ounce of strength to control him while also trying to comfort him. "All our people have fallen along the way. If you want revenge, you need to stay alive; Luo Yu and Sister Jia are still inside." 0

Song Jiu was injured all over and had little strength left. With Liu Yan pressing down hard on him, he struggled for a moment before collapsing in exhaustion, helplessly letting out muffled cries. Liu Yan covered his mouth and felt moisture in his palm, moved yet puzzled. Normally, a ruthless commander like Song Jiu should be able to handle casualties among his subordinates. They had already seen many of their comrades' bodies along the way; while Song Jiu was angry, he shouldn't react so violently—was he emotionally breaking down? 0

Little did Liu Yan know what Song Jiu was truly feeling. For Song Jiu, dying in battle was inevitable; it wasn't that tragic. But A Hai had died because of him. 0

In the dungeon, Song Jiu had pinned everything on Cold Man, telling Zombie Camp's leader that he was injured and resting inside as a means of misdirection while using Zombies to eliminate this troublemaker who had caused problems multiple times. Who would have thought that Cold Man would follow him to the warehouse and play hero? As a result, A Hai—who was also recuperating—ended up taking a fatal hit meant for him. 0

Heaven knew how pitiful it was; A Hai hadn't been able to get out of bed since being attacked last time. How could he possibly evade these Zombies' search? 0

Song Jiu was filled with rage and despair; he never expected that his momentary malicious intent would lead to one of his own being killed. He intended to divert trouble but ended up implicating a brother who could have survived, causing him to take a bullet instead. The thought that A Hai had died innocently because of him made Song Jiu feel as if he were already dead inside. Even though A Hai knew nothing about what had transpired, there was no room for explanation at such a critical moment; after all, he had taken full responsibility for it all—this was truly a comrade willing to shed blood for him. 0

How could he find peace of mind? 0

Feeling Song Jiu's struggles weakening beneath him, Liu Yan hurriedly loosened his grip, fearing that if he applied too much force, he might accidentally injure Song Jiu further. He called for Fat Man's help and dragged Song Jiu back behind another low bush. 0

"Are you calm now?" Liu Yan asked, unaware of Song Jiu's inner guilt. He urged, "At a critical moment like this, you can't let anger cloud your judgment." 0

Song Jiu suppressed his grief and weakly nodded. Liu Yan was right; Chef Jia and Luo Yu were still inside, and Ziqian's condition was still uncertain. A Hai had already lost his life; he couldn't let the others suffer the same fate. 0

Seeing the madness in Song Jiu's eyes fade, Liu Yan breathed a sigh of relief. He squinted at the Blonde Woman in the cafeteria, took a deep breath, and whispered, " Brother Jiu, do you trust me?" 0

Song Jiu was still adjusting his emotions. He paused at the question, furrowing his brow before nodding. 0

"No matter what I do, you will trust me, right?" Liu Yan's expression turned serious as he confirmed again. "I can't focus on Ziqian for now. I have a way to save Luo Yu and Sister Jia first, but I need your absolute trust." 0

Song Jiu slowly exhaled the tension in his chest and looked intently into Liu Yan's eager yet calm eyes. He replied earnestly, "Although I don't know what you're planning to do, I give you my full trust as long as Luo Yu and the others are safe." 0

"Good." Liu Yan seemed a bit nervous as he turned to Fat Man and the other two. "You all must not say anything when the time comes. Just do as I say. No matter what you hear, don't show any surprise or doubt. Do you understand?" 0

Fat Man and the others exchanged glances, feeling tense themselves, and hesitantly nodded. 0

The moon hid behind clouds, casting a gloomy veil over the starry sky; the camp was oppressive and silent. 0

The cafeteria door creaked open once more. 0

Liu Yan walked in with his hands raised high, followed by Song Jiu, whose arms were pinned behind him by two young men. 0

Dozens of gazes shot toward them. Upon recognizing who had entered, Luo Yu was stunned and collapsed to the ground; Chef Jia's expression changed repeatedly before finally turning into a mournful sigh as she painfully closed her eyes. 0

The Blonde Woman raised an eyebrow with interest, waved her hand to lower the guns aimed by the Black and White Duo, and greeted Song Jiu with a smile: "Hi there, nice to see you again." 0

Liu Yan took two steps forward, his eyes fixed on the Blonde Woman, a complex expression in his gaze. 0

The Blonde Woman smiled and asked, "Who are you, and what do you want?" 0

Ignoring Luo Yu's fiery glare, Liu Yan took a deep breath, straightened his posture, and performed a standard salute. He declared loudly, " Wu Wentao." 0
