"Kagura Keiha" guessed correctly; "Bai Zhuo" is lacking not only in offensive spells but in all forms of magic.

"No, you misunderstood. I can help you subdue that 'Jumping Corpse,' but we need to change the terms!"
"Change the conditions?"
"Bai Zhuo's" lips curled into a slight smile as he chuckled lightly. "Exactly. I don't need two secret techniques; you only need to give me one!"
"I'm all ears."
"I hope to summon 'Shikigami' just like you!"
Kagura Keiha immediately refused, "No way!"
"Heh, then, Brother Kagura, you can go subdue the Jumping Corpse by yourself. I still have to endure this pain to help you subdue the monsters?" Bai Zhuo got up from the flowerbed, brushing off his pants and preparing to leave.
Kagura explained, "Bai Zhuo, you don't understand. Subduing Shikigami is something most Onmyoji in our hometown can do, just like your country's Ghost Catching Technique. I have studied both."
Kagura Keiha paused for a moment, organizing his thoughts. "Both methods have their pros and cons. Your country's Ghost Catching Technique is incredibly magical; once captured, it can be tamed with brute force without significantly suppressing its combat power. However, the drawbacks are quite obvious: powerful monsters can easily break free from control, leading to backlash that can be mild or severe—if serious enough, they could even turn the tables and control their master!"
He continued, "On the other hand, my Shikigami, after being subdued and their hostility resolved, willingly become my subordinates and will not betray me. But there are also clear disadvantages: taming Shikigami is a very dangerous process, and even after success, it requires a long time for them to grow... But that's not the main point. So that's how it is! Bai Zhuo suddenly understood: the Ghost Catching Technique uses violence to control monsters without diminishing their strength but carries the risk of backlash; while the Shikigami Technique forms bonds with monsters through other means to make them follow the Onmyoji, but the Shikigami's strength is low and needs time to grow.
Bai Zhuo pondered for a moment. "Then I'll take a step back. An offensive spell would be good, along with your Shikigami Technique. Of course, I don't need your Kagura Family's Shikigami Technique; just teach me a regular Shikigami Technique."
Kagura Keiha considered this for a moment and asked, "Bai Zhuo, because we are friends, I want to remind you of something: there is one step in the Shikigami Technique that is extremely dangerous. Even so, do you still want to learn?"
Who are you calling a friend? How self-important! Bai Zhuo scoffed inwardly but did not show it on his face as he firmly replied, "Yes, I want to learn!"
"Great! It's a deal!" Kagura Keiha pulled out two talisman papers from his pocket. "Time is short; if the Zombie escapes, I'll be at a loss. This is one of the most practical secret arts of my Kagura Family. I can draw a Talisman for you, Bai Zhuo, but I won't teach you the Hand Seals. Please pay close attention."
With either a Talisman or Hand Seals combined with spell incantations, one could release spells; having both would at least double the power of the spells. What a cunning merchant! Bai Zhuo cursed inwardly; after labeling him an enemy before, he now added "cunning merchant" to his list.
Kagura Keiha drew two identical talismans on yellow paper; he handed one to Bai Zhuo while holding the other between his fingers. "Watch closely, Bai Zhuo!"
Bai Zhuo took the talisman and carefully tucked it away.
“Secret Technique—Thunder Emperor summoned, Urgent Command!” Kagura Keiha chanted the incantation, infusing his soul power into a talisman and throwing it. The talisman shot towards a withered camphor tree nearby. With a thunderous crack, a bolt of lightning as thick as an arm struck the tree, splitting it in two instantly.
Bai Zhuo stepped back in shock, his mind filled with astonishment.
Kagura Keiha proudly declared, “This is my power. If someone else were to use this technique, it probably wouldn’t have such destructive force. Bai Zhuo, let’s go; that Jumping Corpse wants to escape.”
Looking at the camphor tree split in half before him, Bai Zhuo forced himself to remain calm, pretending to be indifferent as he asked, “Do you know where it is?” But inside, he was secretly on guard. With such formidable strength, what if Kagura Keiha decided to kill him after subduing the Jumping Corpse? He needed to come up with a strategy; he couldn’t just sit and wait! Bai Zhuo thought to himself.
Kagura Keiha replied, “The Zombie has been hit by three of my Exorcism Arrows. My Shikigami Arrow Servant is following it; it won’t get away. Follow me.”
The night was quiet, with occasional barks from dogs in the distance. They barked a few times but suddenly fell silent as if frightened by something, whimpering before disappearing without a sound—likely tucking their tails and running off somewhere.
In the Southern Old District, which could be considered semi-suburban, Bai Zhuo followed closely behind Kagura Keiha, running toward the back mountain. Under the starlight, he could vaguely see many traces of grass and trees being trampled and destroyed. It seemed that the corpse raiser valued this Jumping Corpse highly; seeing the situation turn dire, it had chosen to flee. Unfortunately for it, with Kagura Keiha’s Shikigami assisting him, there was no way for the Jumping Corpse to shake off both him and Bai Zhuo.
The two pursued until they reached an open area. Kagura Keiha formed Hand Seals, saying, “Zinc Seed Bow!” To Bai Zhuo’s astonishment, one of Kagura Keiha’s Shikigami transformed into a peculiar energy that became a longbow!
“Arrow… Secret Technique—Demon-Breaking Arrow!” Unlike the previous Exorcism Arrow, an arrow formed from gathered spiritual energy coalesced on the longbow. Kagura Keiha gripped the bowstring tightly, narrowing his eyes slightly as he aimed at the hopping Zombie in the distance and gently released the string.
“Whoosh—!” The arrow shot straight toward the back of the Jumping Corpse. The Demon-Breaking Arrow, imbued with fierce momentum, was about to pierce through the Jumping Corpse. Suddenly, the arrow split into nine separate arrows with a series of hissing sounds—the Nine Demon-Breaking Arrows! Each one struck flesh, forming a pattern on the back of the Jumping Corpse: a Hexagram!
