Gideon described it as having a prominent tail, about seven meters long, with a diamond-shaped feature at the end. Although he did not closely observe the creature's head, he could remember the bulge at the back of its skull.
Another villager from Opai Village, Michael, mentioned in an interview that one night in 1949, he saw a glowing Roben land on a grave in Gumlong Village and easily steal a corpse from it. However, due to the darkness of the night, he could not see the creature's detailed physical characteristics, only the light it emitted. Another villager, Abram, also claimed to have seen the light from the Roben illuminating the rocks by the lake; it hovered above the water's surface as if fishing.
An explorer from another team, David Wozelle, had a direct encounter with a similar creature. He described it as follows: while searching outside Alot Village, he saw a beam of light that was almost golden, with sparkling points along its edges. It flew out of sight very quickly, in about two seconds, leaving no time to capture video. It resembled an old-fashioned streetlamp and had no tail.
Wozelle was certain it was not a meteor. It flew horizontally from Paris Guest Mountain toward Falling Mountain. Professor Whitcomb believed the credibility of this event was high. Although the sighting was brief, it could be one of the most significant discoveries by Westerners on this island in many years.
Additionally, the team interviewed numerous local witnesses and meticulously recorded each person's observations of the creature's form, including its head, neck, wings, mouth, eyes, feet, and flight path. They even showed them various comparison images of birds in flight.

In 2006, a supernatural documentary team called "The Final Truth" also ventured into Papua New Guinea in search of Roben. A pastor named Jacob Capas from Laicheng told the crew that he had seen a glowing Roben in Wawuzhen; its wings and belly emitted light and noted that this creature had recently been common in Saramoya.
A witness named Phoebian reported seeing a massive bird one night with red light emanating from its wings; it was a Pterosaur-type creature. Locals also informed him that many graves on the mountain had been disturbed by Roben, with corpses taken away and consumed.
Afterward, the production team, led by a local guide, headed to the cave rumored to be inhabited by Roben.
Most of these caves were excavated by the Japanese army during World War II, and many have been buried due to landslides.
They finally found a relatively intact entrance, but the inside was filled with feces and animal bones. The team believed that if this was a creature's nest, it would surely return.
They set up night vision cameras around the area and successfully captured footage. The light spots recorded by the cameras could still be seen with infrared binoculars, but perhaps due to distance, humans could not capture similar light spots with the naked eye.
The video was preserved in the 2009 documentary "Monster Exploration," which featured the aforementioned cryptozoologist Gus Gessman as the leader.
While conducting interviews and investigations in villages deep within Papua New Guinea, they discovered that most locals believed Roben to be a "Graverobber" that enjoyed feasting on corpses and emitted bright white or red lights.
When it flew low over the lake's surface, it could illuminate the entire body of water.
Locals told Gessman that in 1986, a farmer in Butchery Harbor was grabbed by a massive creature while working and dropped from about 40 feet in the air.
The man died on impact, and the monster carried him to a large tree at the village's edge. Villagers described it as a gigantic beast resembling a Pterosaur.
Gus Gessman himself stated in the program that he had seen that strange light three times. One day, while observing the sky, a bright light suddenly entered his field of vision. He watched it for about a minute to see its direction of movement when it abruptly transformed into seven lights moving together.
Later, the production team also prepared night vision cameras and thermal imaging devices and captured footage of this phenomenon, but they discovered that the glowing object was actually a large firefly.
Paleontologist Paul Neitz had ventured into the jungles of Papua New Guinea five times since 1944, hoping to find a legendary glowing flying creature known as Indava.
One day in 2006, he walked along the road to Bialu Village towards a viewpoint on the mountain, observing the sky as usual.
Suddenly, a bright light flew from the west along the river, slowly moving down to the flat ground below. Then, as it rose again to about 50 feet in height, the light abruptly vanished, as if someone had turned off a light bulb.
He stated in his blog that he had witnessed mysterious halos six times and finally captured an image during the last occurrence.
Paul mentioned that when he picked up his camera to start shooting, the first light point was gradually fading, while the second was still glowing. They flew across the canyon and disappeared from sight.
In 2012, Milt Massey, a businessman from Oregon, interviewed a Brazilian missionary named Harriet Skonser. Harriet recounted that over twenty years ago, he had seen a shocking gray bird near his house above the canyon, gliding just twenty feet away from him at nearly eye level.
The creature had an impressive wingspan estimated at 15 feet. Its beak was long and sharp, but since it did not open its mouth, he could not tell if it had teeth. There was a very large bump on the back of its head, and its body was smooth and featherless; however, he did not see the creature's tail or claws.
Harriet also mentioned that his son and husband had seen three similar creatures, but they were too far away to describe the animals' detailed features.
