My increasingly expanding ambitions may have fooled my old friend Huang who used to spend every day with me, but they haven't fooled another person. That person is Shaw DeBang, who also lives in "Yi Hao Apartment" with us.
He is very mysterious, usually smiling and rarely speaking, but once he opens his mouth, he can see through your thoughts, which is really incredible. Everyone sat around a table, joking with each other and starting various topics. The most talked-about topic was still about me and that old spinster Elisa. I, Mrs. Marina, Alice, Shaw DeBang, and a poor student named Ouyeni, the five of us started playing poker.
After a few rounds, I surprisingly kept winning. The key was that every time I and Shaw DeBang drew the same suit of the big A, meaning that our combination always led to victory. This evening gave me a new understanding of Shaw DeBang.
"Alright, young man, don't be mad. Don't look so gloomy. Come on, let's go have a drink together!"
This time, I actually followed behind him without arguing.
We came out and sat on a long vine chair in the backyard of Yi Hao Apartment. He bought a case of bottles and placed them on the ground, opened one and handed it to me, then opened another one for himself and started drinking.
