Chapter 11: An Inexplicable Conclusion
In a moment, Lian Yun suddenly felt a tightness in his heart. Without hesitation, he thrust his sword forward, and in an instant, the tip of his Wutai Sword collided with a claw-like tip. However, what surprised Lian Yun was that beside his Wutai Sword was the tip of a black spear.
Before he could think further, Lian Yun was struck by a powerful force that sent him flying.
He had initially prepared to use this impact to retreat quickly and escape beyond Fengdu. However, due to Yang Zai Xing's timely arrival, Lian Yun had to abandon this plan.
Forcing himself to draw upon the spiritual energy within him to resist the overwhelming impact and slow his retreat, he still found himself pushed back several hundred meters. As he stabilized his stance, he couldn't help but spit out a mouthful of blood due to the backlash.
"I apologize for my late arrival, my Lord! Oh~~ please don't go, friend!"
Regaining his composure, Lian Yun saw a transparent entity emerge from Yang Zai Xing's body, which then swiftly moved onto his back. Yang Zai Xing's Soul Body became erratic, clearly showing signs of immense exhaustion.
Although feeling quite perplexed and conflicted inside, Lian Yun still spoke softly, "General has good intentions; shall we sign a contract first?"
"I will obey your command!"
After signing the contract, Lian Yun immediately absorbed Yang Zai Xing into his Box.
This was a fleeting thought for Lian Yun; perhaps it was difficult for others to help a renowned general advance, but it shouldn't be too challenging for him to do so within his Box.
At this moment, although he didn't know how long he could maintain this state, if he could help Yang Zai Xing recover to the King's Realm, his strength would likely become even more terrifying.

Not long after entering Fengdu, he was ensnared by a transparent fabric. Yang Zai Xing's first instinct was that his life was over. He felt as if his Soul Body would be instantly devoured by the Transparent Fabric. However, what troubled him most was the realization that encountering such a tremendous danger right after entering Fengdu made him wonder just how perilous Lian Yun's situation within Fengdu truly was.
There was no time for him to think too much; even if he were to be completely consumed, even if his soul were to scatter, he had to reach Lian Yun's side.
For reasons unknown, the Transparent Fabric did not consume Yang Zai Xing.
When he sensed Lian Yun was in danger from afar, Yang Zai Xing suddenly felt his Soul Body brimming with power. He immediately unleashed his ultimate move, arriving just in time to join Lian Yun in resisting the attack from the Humanoid Locust.
Initially, Yang Zai Xing thought that with the assistance of the Transparent Fabric, he could challenge the Humanoid Locust and create an opportunity for his Lord to escape. To his surprise, the Transparent Fabric suddenly withdrew, leaving him feeling as though his Soul Body had been drained entirely.
That was why he couldn't help but shout, "Friend, don't go!"
Now, Lian Yun felt a complex mix of emotions.
He quickly realized that what Yang Zai Xing perceived as the Transparent Fabric was actually the Vigilant Worm that had been present during his first meeting with Jiang Ao, Murong Ying, and others when they were at the sunken stone platform in the center.
Now it was attached to his back, with one corner extending to his waist, extracting pieces of Nutrient Solution. This left no doubt in his mind.
However, from the current attitude of the Humanoid Locust, Lian Yun sensed something unusual.
The first feeling was that the Vigilant Worm possessed a special acute perception ability, which was more than just a sense of crisis.
Analyzing the words of the Humanoid Locust, Lian Yun gleaned two pieces of information: first, the Humanoid Locust had great confidence in the perception ability of the Vigilant Worm; second, the implication of its words seemed to concern potential issues.
From beginning to end, the Humanoid Locust had not attacked him with full force. If it had, Lian Yun knew he would have been no match for it. Thus, he felt that the meaning behind the Humanoid Locust's words was not about current strength but rather about potential.
Lian Yun was not being arrogant; he understood that his Yin-Yang Stage was quite remarkable and possibly held many unknown functions. Perhaps it was this very aspect that the Vigilant Worm sensed, leading it to choose him.
However, the fact that the Humanoid Locust spoke in such a manner indicated that it itself also possessed tremendous potential.
With this realization, Lian Yun suddenly felt a bit worried, concerned that the other party might resort to eliminating him.
Yet, in response to the Humanoid Locust's words, the Vigilant Worm showed no reaction at all; it continued to extract nutritional leaves from Lian Yun's waist. It resembled a carefree glutton, as if it had just consumed quite a bit.
Despite his complex emotions, Lian Yun made no other moves. He focused on adjusting himself; outwardly, he appeared stable, but only he knew how severe his injuries were from receiving an attack from the Humanoid Locust just moments ago.
If it weren't for the timely support of Yang Zai Xing, he would have likely fainted instantly even if he didn't die.
However, the Humanoid Locust seemed unhurried and simply stared intently.
After a while, once the Vigilant Worm seemed to have replenished enough energy, it crawled up onto Lian Yun's shoulder and then magically transformed into a transparent crystal earring, attaching itself to his earlobe.
It seemed completely indifferent to the Humanoid Locust or perhaps used this act to express its resolute stance.
At this moment, Lian Yun was on high alert, channeling all the spiritual energy within him.
However, the Humanoid Locust suddenly nodded and then surprisingly broke off one of its own fingernails, tossing it over. With a hint of disappointment in its tone, it said, "It seems it's not yet my time to emerge."
"This city is yours; take good care of it for me. If anything goes wrong, when I emerge again, I will surely slaughter all humanity."
In the next moment, the Humanoid Locust had ascended to the Sky Above, and in the blink of an eye, it vanished without a trace.
Lian Yun felt utterly bewildered and was so frustrated that he wanted to spit blood. He truly had no idea what was going on. Yet from this encounter, he could sense the Humanoid Locust's deep affection for the Vigilant Worm.
However, with things having come to this point, Lian Yun could do nothing else but sit cross-legged and adjust his internal injuries.
Just then, the Nirvana Order, which had been pressed against the back of his battle suit, suddenly trembled.
"Travel six hundred miles south."
Realizing this was a summons from that beautiful Boss Lady from earlier, Lian Yun felt a wave of confusion wash over him.
"Isn't it only those with Monarch-level strength who can enter the tomb? How does that stunning Boss Lady know about her current strength, and how does she know my present location?"
